LGBT people !
Well it seems there are a lot of LGBT people in the fog - maybe more with the ones that doesnt came out of the ... locker ! *badum tss*
So i wondered why ? I mean i never met any of them on different online games communities such as GTA, Red Dead, Call of... or at least 1 or 2. But i made friends with a lot on DBD, boys and girls -survivors AND killers - I'm thankful for that, its always nice to play and make friend with some members of this giant family, to put some rainbow in the fog.

I dont talk about my sexual orientation with people I meet online...
Just because you havent found them it doesnt mean they are not there, they just dont talk about it.

It's not a role-playing game, so it's not likely to come into focus. There's also no in-game communication, so, again, it's unlikely you'll hear about it. Mostly people just play the trial and queue up again.

Just random chance? There’s nothing about my sexuality that attracts me to DBD, I’ve just always liked horror.
Maybe LGBTQ people are playing the same games you listed above, perhaps they’re just more open about themselves on DBD? I always tell salty players I’m gay if they call me the F-word for beating them. They usually apologize afterwards.

There’s a twitch streamer; his name is Geistra. You should watch him! He’s really funny.

What difference does it make in a video game!
Seriously!. Many people that identify as LGBTQ want to feel safe and accepted in society. Fine, no issue for me. But, if you want to be accepted and safe etc etc, WHY are you making posts etc, segregating them out!
Makes no sense
*edit, spelling

I think the horror genre has a huge queer community because of a lot of the allegory you can get from a horror story. Either being viewed as a monster, or being someone who is targeted with violence for what appears to be a senseless and irrational reason is familiar.
Horror movies show societal fears and issues in a strong message, and when you watch the subject matter with a horror movie you can see how a society is evolving, and how it's treating specific demographics. You should definitely look into it, it's really fascinating.
A few non queer examples are how horror movies about Jewish culture emerged in Europe in the 1930s, like Golem, before and during the rise of Hitler. You find in the era of Sci-Fi horror that PoC's images were either used as inspiration for monsters, or were used as a comedic laugh before dying quickly. They never made their appearances in a science lab or hospital really until after the challenging of segregation publicly and politically.
Horror also did and does a great job of exploring classism, gentrification, and other topics. In example People Under the Stairs from the 90s. Clive Barker has always had awesome messages in his films, and made a point to help disenfranchised groups have a role and message in his movies.

He's not asking about it to segregate or anything, just asking a curious question. You're right about it not making a difference, but I guess the guy just has a weird interest in the topic?
There's not really a why, to answer his question.

Lol the same, well i just put "LGBT <3 " in my profile, the best insult we had while playing SWF was from an angry billy "toxic gays on toxic map"
4 -
It just seems to me that there are so many LGBTQ or racial posts, media articles and such that seem to keep making it an issue, there constant stream of it turns people away and might have the reverse effect that they were aiming for :(
Personally, If your gay, lesbian, bi, trans, Black, white, Asian.... I really don't care. Treat other how you want to be treated, respect each other. And in this case, Just get on with playing the game.

I forgot to mention im on PS4, so i guess communication is easier. Plus I put on my profile "LGBT ♡" between others stuff just for fun, well i got a lot of friends request for that, so i guess thats why i thinks theres a lot there

Given the general attitude toward LGBT that continues to this day, do you think it's odd if people are trying to find others that are similar to them? Hell, even disregarding that attitude, do you think it's odd that people try to find others that are similar to them? People go to comic book conventions, they go to concerts, but it's LGBT trying to find other LGBT that triggers you?

No one cares. This is a stupid topic. LGBT is made up community for people that made their own personal choice.
I have nothing against these type of people. Gay people love horror movies... and some gay people hate horror movies.
Some Christians do not believe in watching graphic material, and some do. It doesn't matter.
Imagine if I asked why Christians don't play horror games... that would be a juicy topic. NO one cares.
No one cares about LGBT people playing this game either.

Its not a question to put the community apart dont think this. It was just a constatation.

Thanks you very much for this, really

The fact that you call it a personal choice just provides legitimacy to every pride parade and other events.
6 -
Lol ive stopped reading when i saw "lGBT is people that made their one personnal choice" dont comment if you dont care
3 -
Not sure that was his point. He's not saying he's against LGBT, he's just saying that it doesn't matter. It doesn't affect the game and doesn't really make a difference in the people.
2 -
Who said it triggers me...only you made that statement.
As I said in my posts, Im not bothered by anyone in the LGBTQ community. Stop trying to paint it like I have an issue with them

It's just coincidence sometime.
I play another normal mobile game, nothing about it even remotely suggest any LGBT theme. However, the active members in the chat room it has are mostly gays. We never know about it at first, until one guy confessing out of the blue, and almost all of us that day said "I'm gay too". We are so shocked about it, and then the chat room turned sassy and fabulous started that day.

Well, it is what it sounded like to me, since posts about race, LGBT, etc., are meant to attract those peoplpe.

That's quite interesting. I wonder if there's a specific element that attracted everyone, or if it was the result of targeted advertising. Do you mind if I ask what game it is?

Yeay its pretty the same story for me! At my beginnings in the fog i made friends with 3 guys i met in a farm lobby. And talking, talking, talking, i had some doubts about it so we started to confess ; 2 of them were gay, so thats was fun.

My point is that to call sexual orientation a personal choice shows a deep lack of understanding of said topic, and is especially annoying because it legitimizes the god-awful "tradition" of pride parades.
2 -
It's a card collector game called "tower of savior", I played on the chinese version, but I do heard the english version have a small but active community too.
I can assure you nothing about it is gay, and they don't target gay for marketing the game. I played the game for almost 4 years now, and only after about 3 years in, I found the chat room started the whole thing.

I'm curious as to why their sexuality matters at all.
Like a person for who they are not who they #########

As a gay I think I speak for everyone of LGBT+ when I say PRAISE THE ALMIGHTY ENTITY and delete ruin because its boring.
0 -
Oh, I didn't notice that part lmao. Yeah, it's not really a choice. Eh, he's still not against LGBT so it's whatever.
0 -
Here's my new theory: gay people are less likely to have to take care of children, for obvious reasons, and so they have more free time for things like video games.
0 -
I don't think that's it chief

What the frick did i just read? 🤔

Try reading it again.

Because there is a kind of "union" and solidarity in the LGBT community that is really strong, in my opinion, so thats why people from this will feel a little safer with their pairs sometimes, to speak without being judged since we dont know if the person you speak with even sometimes for long will be racist or homophobic . So im always glad to met them here. I dont deny straight friends thought lol

To be fair its likely a mix of multiple reasons.
Maybe lgbt feel this is their safe space as its each person set on equal terms to escape/kill.
In a game if life and death sexual orientation ain't gonna matter.
0 -
Only if you're LG. The BTs get screwed even in the LGBT.
0 -
You disapointed me lol
0 -
Weird but I guess.
Never felt the need for such things
0 -
Don't lie, we all know you want to rescue shirtless David from the hook over and over again.
5 -
Never heard that theory before 🤔

Coincidence is an acceptable explanation to me. Roll the dice enough times and you're bound to get results that seem coincidental to the human mind. However, "coincidence" is the last resort after all other explanations have failed.

I dont see how someones sexual orientation matters to strangers (or even friends) on the internet matters, particularly in a game where you don't usually see the same people on a regular basis.
Plus I, at least, dont frequently talk with my "opponents"
Usually its "xxxxx has added you to a group"
"Insert salt"

True story im the B. But i still believe in that solidarity 😂
0 -
Makes sense, though. Statistically, heterosexuals are more likely to have larger families, which means less free time for hobbies and the like, especially video games.
Goddamned perverts everywhere.
I don't, based on the fact that I'm B as well.

I still don't think it's very accurate. I'll take coincidence for an answer until data says otherwise. I get how that's... logical, but ehhhhh I don't think it's likely enough.

Gaming is a hobby. Hobbies take up time. Family takes up time. Family supersedes hobbies. Get it now?
0 -
Well its case by case for that i think, i know some daddies ( real daddies i mean, fathers haha ) that have time to take care of their families, working, and still have time to play. I dont know how theyre doing this tho lol

As a Bi, I get what you mean by this so much. Straight friends don't understand why I can like both sexes and gay friends think I will go back together with girl one day, while I'm here couldn't even get one person to love me, LOL.
