Thoughts on Console playing

I will admit now, I began playing Dead By Daylight only last october, and I got it in PS4. I got the PC version a few months back because I want to switch over to PC fully. But I had already put so much effort into my PS4 one that I can't just give up on it. So what I want to know is what is everyone's thoughts on the console versions of the game? Do you feel its not as good as it is on PC? No console wars here, I own all platforms so I don't want that here.

And as a note, I play both when I can, so just bear that in mind. My username is my PS4 name. :)

My good man you don't belong on the Dead by Daylight forum as your post isn't toxic enough. 😀

Anyway my only problem with the PS was controller size.  i haven't looked at the PS4 controller but the PS3 seemed small.  My hands seemed to want to cramp up after an hour on the PS3.  i even tried an off brand controller and couldn't seem to keep it connected to the system.  But PS4 had some great games.

i don't PC game since I sit most of the day and like to stand and move around a bit while I game.

I play on the Xbox One X, M&K support is in the works so hopefully it's not too long before I can use my Naga+Orbweaver on my X.
Then it's just frame rate that seperates the two with the PC being superior but DBD on the X is more than playable (but not perfect).
New consoles in 2020 anyway, wonder if DBD will still be around on console by that time.
I used to play on PC too though, from Quake III back in the day to WoW vanilla to the end of Pandaria.

Other than some simple limitation on movement and FPS, not too bad. I don’t mind playing on PS4. I even play Nurse and can do the 180 Blinks and everything. Just need to set your sensitivity to 100% and put a LOT of practice with her. You can overcome the limitations.

Frames on console are terrible as killer, anyone saying differently are lying.

@ZombieGenesis People on Xbox deflate their rank artificially too. It's kinda sad

I really enjoy playing it on console, and like yourself I have it on PC too - in fact I had it on BETA on PC so quite a while. But something I like about just lying down on the couch, lights off, headphones on and scurrying around hiding from Michael myers I enjoy more, than sitting at my desk with my keyboard and mouse

I dont like being toxic, so its nice to see some appreciation :) I personally don't mind the controller for PS4, but if I am being honest, I have smaller then average hands... controllers aren't ever an issue for me. XD

I play on both the PS4 and PC. Even on the PC I use a controller though, an XBox One controller. I like it a lot better than the PS4 controller. I don't notice much of a difference to be honest. I think players on the PS4 tend to artificially deflate their rank more than on PC. For instance, I haven't played on the PS4 in about a month now and tried a few games the other day. I'm rank 20 on the PS4 obviously so I opt to use a killer I'm not that good with who has only a few perks. Big mistake, all I faced were "rank 20" try-hards with full on rank 3 perk loadouts, BNPs, and full map knowledge/awareness. Where as on the PC after the rank reset if/when I'm down around rank 20 it feels like I'm playing against rank 20 survivors.

That's just my experience though. Other than that I find they play just about the same. My PC version may be a bit prettier and have better frame rates but it's not that noticeable.

Ah I swear the PS4 community has more try hard then I'd like to admit. Although, I always hit rank 1 killer and at least try to hit rank 1 as survivor, only using ultra rare addons for killers occasionally (unless I play doc, cause he isn't great), and I never bring items or offerings as survivor unless I'm leveling them up, which I don't do a lot.

I have it on xbox,ps4 and PC. It plays a lot better on my PC, but I prefer to play it on my xbox on my TV rather than sitting at my computer desk.

Something I've just remembered, but you can hook your PC up to a TV, so if you set yourself up right, you can PC game with a nice 50inch flat screen...

I have played on both the ps4 and PC, and I can't stand the controllers, honestly that's the worst thing that I have ever experienced (this is my opinion) and the framerate seems a little weird on the console, constantly getting drops as killers, especially with the doctor and his electrical bat, so I would take PC any day of the week, it might be a hard change, maybe you have purchased the dlcs on ps4 but I would say it's worth it to join the PC community.

well i had it on ps4 as well and i used the last bp event we had to prestige some of my characters on their but on the 5th of next month a double bp event is live so you could take advantage of it to max out characters or killers on pc than it be a grind fest. plus sometimes i switch back to ps4 and my word the frame rate is atrocious on ps4 compared to pc lol .... its no where near as good because you can uncap your frame rate on pc and ps4 you cant change the hardware at all or anything within it so as good as the ps4 is. for dbd its crap as the games badly optimised anyway lol

Of course it is not as good as on PC. Performance issues and controller aim, its always the same....

Thanks to everyone who has put their input in. Just you are aware, I have lately been grinding my PC account, and only have to get Hag 3 more levels to get ruin, then I should be able to switch completely. I have spent money on the DLC for PS4 so I won't be leaving it altogether (can't get the money back and don't want it wasted). I only prefer PS4 somewhat in regards to there not being an after game chat. I hate people being salty just cause they've lost, so I really hate some of the "toxic" players who cant just accept a loss and say GG.

But I can work through that. Thanks again!
