Gearhead and Discordance

Wow. I see these gaining in popularity in my SoloQ games and so I tried Discordance as Killer.

What an awesome info perk that cannot be countered!

Gearhead eats Distortion tokens so fast!

I have not used Gearhead yet, but I have seen it drain my Distortion tokens rapidly as Survivor!

I'm surprised I'm only now seeing these used. I literally didn't know what either did until I read their descriptions. Excellent Killer perks!

Discordance was highly valued back in the day when there were half as many killer perks. I remember the first time it appeared in the shrine, there was much rejoice. It had gone a considerable amount of time without appearing.

It's good because it guarantees you the location of two survivors. There are scenarios where you either just hooked somebody or are chasing someone, which lets you know where almost everyone is. You can make a fast paced decision to defend the gen or keep the info in mind if you're busy chasing a survivor. Definitely underrated in the current year.

Little interesting trivia is that it used to be one of, if not the only perk that was better at the tier 1.

    Discordance is amazing.

Play it with Stbfl to always find a non obsession!

Also great on Nemesis, due to the Zombies reacting to it.

Discordance is a great perk, easy to get value and kinda hard for survivors to notice it.

Gearhead i never tried to be honest, but i'm always hearing good things about it.

I liked Discordance while Prove was still a thing. I liked using it on Artist.

Gearhead could be better if the Aura revealed was not red and an audible sound played when a Survivor was revealed

That might get annoying fast. If 3 people are on gens, you're going to get constant noise notifications every time any of them hits a good skill check.

I’ve been using Lethal, BBQ, Gearhead and Nowhere for the last year or so. I had to switch to gearhead because of how many survivors bring distortion. If you don’t bring gearhead you won’t get a single aura read all game even with 3 other aura perks.

I always bring Distortion as Survivor. I don't like aura reading on Killer. When I first started, I used to use Bitter Murmur but never found it to be worth a perk slot.

Lethal Presuer is my Nemesis. I wouldn't run Distortion if it weren't for that perk 😡

I guess this makes us mortal enemies then! I use 4 aura reading perks because survivors complain about slowdown perks so much, and also it’s fun sniping people and going for orbitals! Distortion is the literal bane of my existence😭

Discordance always been good. My problem with it is I just never have enough perk slots to run it. 😥

Gearhead is only as good as the build it's in imo.

I totally agree, both are underrated and not used much. Discordance is nice for getting around all the Distortion users and almost always procs right at the start as a lethal. Gearhead is hard to see the auras but thankfully lingers the auras long enough you see where they hide or head towards after leaving the gen. It’s also nice as a Distortion counter since as you said it eats up tokens fast. The downside of it is against good players who can hit great skill checks. Probably 90% of my skill checks are greats for example so worse against the better players.

I don't use aura reading on my killers. Do the auras from Gearhead differ from the auras you see if you used LP or BBQ?

Discordance is a solid perk. But I personally prefer Surveillance, which is another slept on perk. Call of Brine is also a good info perk that I think is overlooked because people see it primarily as a bad regression perk.

They're all good choices for generator defense builds (especially on a high mobility Killers like Billy).

I've never used Gearhead much despite The Deathslinger being one of my mains. Perhaps I should give it another look. I could see it being a very good choice for Huntress or Artist.

I think Discordance is kinda overrated personally. It gets better with inefficient play and with Prove getting nerfed it's for sure less favourable than it was before.

Gearhead goes hard though. I just wish it worked on Healing Skill Checks as well…

Gearhead sucks because of the aura color makes you see big #########.

Discordance is okay but why would you pick it with many other better info perks.

They look the same. The reason I said it’s harder is because it’s only activating while they’re on a gen and many times it blends in with that quite well. Whereas BBQ and LP proc very often not on gens and when they’re just running around, so the auras are hidden much less often.

Yeah this is why i don't use gearhead. It's why it's "underrated" i think
