How to get infinite loops and become unhookable on Forgotten Ruins
Portals are busted for Survivors right now taking Portals in chase is strong cause your invincible during the animation and the portal cooldown gives great distance and makes Killers lose bloodlust. One extremely busted portal is above ground on the tower wall that has a vault 5 meters immediately on your left with a pallet run up the tower stairs to the tower wall portal again and repeat no regular m1 killer can catch you a true infinite loop.
How to become unhookable the answer the DUNGEON. The dungeon has 1 hook only available in the dungeon starry room use breakdown or a Sabo toolbox on the 1 hook and now you have a complete deadzone and the killer has no time to hook you above ground

The killer can still hit you while using the portal.

I can already smell the flip flop and boil over builds.

Nope during the portaling animation you are invulnerable either if it didn't you have plenty of distance to keep looping using portals and not get hit

i got hit while interacting with it earlier today.
maybe it was just connection tho.0 -
I am surprised that BhVR has not learned anything from the so-called Void-Tech that abused the Void for last year's Halloween event. I would have thought that they would have at least taken into account the feedback of what happened during the last year or so.

Latency is a huge RNG factor on these portals I'll give you that

Really don't like this map on either side. Feels nonsense. There's buggy pallets too where it doesn't even block passage at all, there is a gap on one side of it. I mean I know there's unsafe pallets but come on.

True.
I tried it a bunch of times. I always hit the wall - hitbox and my weapon bounces off.
The only time I got a hit was with pre shot - skeletons that hit due to latency.
Portals need to be changed to that the survivor is vuklnerable during the animation. Its not hard to do that, is it?

You can get grabbed using the portal

Yeah portaling is very safe most of the time they should make hitboxes vulnerable during portaling or put the portals on a massive cooldown when Killers TP to prevent infinite looping
0 -
Really? never gotten a grab 90% is my weapon bounces off and 10% a hit cause of latency

I would love to have confirmation from the devs if survivors as invulnerable during the animation.
If not, it's a latency problem.
If they have, there is your fix. Make them vulnerable. Problem solved.

yeah portals need some kinda down side or cooldown and the dungeon needs more hooks

Agreed. This new map has to many bells and whistles..and that interrupts normal play. New killer 10/10 new survivor 8/10 new map? 0/10

oh yeah ive seen videos of double pallets that are unsafe since the unknown chapter map intentionally added unsafe double pallets i think they are adding these intentionally into all future maps and reworks from now on

You're not invincible during the animation. I've gotten hit while teleporting. It's like your hitbox is still there until you appear on the other side of the portal.

the frame to get hit is smaller though, i've yet to get hit while teleporting, and i've only seen it happen once or twice. from the killer's side, it doesn't even matter, they just have to go down, stairs or portal, doesn't matter, there's the safest of loops to the right, two windows you can run indefinitely with plenty of LoS loss and options like safe pallets.
And as mentioned, you'll see two hooks on average, and three gens. and that area has a lot of nooks and crannies besides the bigger rooms. two hooks is way too little even without any saboing. add anything like an already hooked survivor, a broken hook, a survivor knowing what they are doing and going down in the library, saboing of course, any form of body blocking or boil over, etc etc etc, that whole undergroung half of the map is an unhokable area. it really leaves you no choice but to slug if you get a down.
IF you get a down underneath. some survivors are yet to get used to the good loops there, but they are super safe and easy to execute…so m1 killers will struggle harder than usual on this map.
Of course, if you gift those three gens away, you'll be left with an outside map with a huge block in the middle and a widespread of the other gens, so not exactly great to defend (not the worst though) unless you are nurse or blight. but even then, outside is better for any M1 by a lot. they really need to change the portals and the structure underneath, make it so the killer doesn't have to wait to take the portal (that second of wait is so bs), or make it so they go on a significant cooldown after the killer goes through in chase. add hooks underneath, make it three at least if not four, there's more than four rooms lol, it should be easy.
and change the length or distribution of the windows on those two walls, they are the safest loops i've seen in so long. Not even counting the portal at the end of said loop. you even get to choose to continue looping underneath forever, or be fancy and take the portal, it's not even necessary to take it for it to be super safe
The map is pretty, i loved all the details underneath, but it feels 10000% like a novelty and not an actual map that they tested and aimed to be fair. and outside is extremely meh, clearly all the effort went underground, but that's the most problematic area in terms of gameplay…2 -
i grabbed a bot off of a portal

from what ive gathered the vulnerability window is so small during portaling plus latency makes it extremely inconsistent killer has a small window to hit the survivor but 80% of the time hits gets rejected cause latency

100% agree Knight is unplayable on this map

Thats a first i think this will be a very rare thing though

The killer had a high ping, between 200 and 300. Guess that plays into it too.
