How do you choose between Iron Grasp and Agitation?
Although their descriptions are different, do they not accomplish literally the exact same thing - getting a Survivor to a hook faster?
I have only ever run them together along with Lightborn and Mad Grit to combat Bully Squads.
For those of you who don't, how do you decide between the two if you're only going to pick one?

Agitation is almost always better. The 18% movement speed lets you cover more distance than Iron Grasp does and in general it makes hooking more efficient since you spend less time carrying survivors. Whereas Iron Grasp lets you travel farther than normal but doesn’t do it more quickly so it doesn’t really save you time.
The only time I ever use Iron Grasp is if I’m using both perks for a backpack build.

Agitation is to get into a better flow and maintain pressure by not wasting as much time getting to a hook, while Iron Grasp is mainly for distance
Now if you do the math Agitation does actually cover more distance, which is about 4 meters. How ever Iron Grasp also has the effect of reducing the sway Survivors do when wiggling, making you travel more in a straight line.
Overall Agitation is still the better pick. Id say always has been but 1.0. Iron Grasp was nuts lol

I prefer Iron Grasp as a controller player. It's very difficult to counteract the swaying of a wriggling Survivor when playing on controller, so it's more or less a quality of life requirement for me (plus it completely counters Boil Over). Survivors observing you can't really tell if you've got it equipped either. So I've gotten plenty of hits and even some downs and still been able to hook the Survivor I've been carrying with this perk.
Unfortunately, this won't work against a SWF on comms, because the game tells the carried Survivor that you're running it and they can tell their buddies not to bother taking hits for them. Don't honestly know why. So many other perks don't tell a Survivor when they're in play, but it is what it is.
I also like using both (with Lightborn) on my fun to play Killers like Billy to shut down any bully squad shenanigans.

JJust Go with agitation they give similar distance but the 18%speed will save you time and help with getting hits or around body blockes

We should bring back 1.0 iron grasp

Simple. I run Agitation and don't think about Iron Grasp.

Agitation gives you far more distance. Iron Grasp is mainly for the reduction of the struggle effects or to stack on top of agitation. It can be nice to use on controller for that reason.

What was that?

As others have pointed out, Agitation generally offers more than Iron Grasp.
Agitation allows you to chase survivors trying to bait you and surprise them with an unexpected hit, it can shorten the amount of downtime you have while carrying to a hook which can make the difference between interrupting a survivor action and that action being finished, and it increases your terror radius so it's a good pair for perks like Starstruck that activate that way.
Iron Grasp reducing wiggle sway is a nice effect, but Agitation just offers more overall. Personally speaking, Agitation is the one I use if I'm in a position to use either.

Agitation is the better of these two (getting to hook faster is pretty valuable), unless you have survivors that run boil over, then iron grasp is much better to have.
So it depends on whether you think you'll need to counter boil over or not.

Iron grasp feels better. Agitation is better. I rarely use either but with the new Sabo meta I use them more often and honestly Agitation gets you farther. I try to avoid using them in favor of more game changing perks but I gotta admit starstruck/iron grasp/Agitation might be putting all the eggs in one basket but sure feels good sometimes

agitation is 25% further carry distance, while iron grasp is 12% further carry distance
agitation hooks faster, iron grasp makes it easier to hook but not by enough to warrant comparison
