Why can’t an ETA be said about the event for Xbox
so we just sit and wait all day to play your game. What is the point of wasting more money on dead by daylight, especially if you can’t give us a time we’re going to be able to play. What a joke behaviour. Seriously.

Not saying I agree with this but if bhvr puts out an ETA that Microsoft gives them, and Microsoft ends up being wrong… well you can see how that doesn't really make the situation better now does it

I still don’t get why they need Microsoft’s permission to update their game. I have never heard of that in my life.

If you've ever worked in customer service / relations, you'd know that even if it was someone else at fault (and who knows, maybe it is Microsoft in this case), they still won't be able to give you more information about what's gone wrong. Companies that your workplace has partnered with don't tend to appreciate being dropped in it. I know it sucks to be out of the loop, but that's just how it goes.

it’s kind of annoying that there was no announcement or anything about the Xbox update being delayed. There has been no updates or apologies or anything even announcing it, other than the bracketed comment saying that Xbox players won’t be able to play. No time frame, not even its own post, just a bit of fine print at the bottom of the tweet about the update. It’s been nearly 6 hours.

This has been the norm for a long time now, and it's one of the bigger issues when it comes to updating multi-platform games. For PC it's fine and BHVR can update their game whenever they want, but for console patches they need to have them approved by the company that made the console. Some companies are better, more lenient and/or faster at this than others.
It's why for quite a few games, consoles get patches days or even a week or two after PC, though sometimes devs will wait until they can just send the patch out for everyone.

What gets on my nerves is I KNEW this was going to happen. I went online before I loaded DBD up. Just wondering what random stupid problem will there be this time. Of COURSE there is one.

As others have quoted if there was anyone working on it a rough ETA would have been stated. With no ETA it means no one is on it. Microsoft has been off their game I wonder if they are purposefully pushing people away from them.

I still don’t think you get the issue, why not make sure they get the approval in advance, instead of announcing an event and then telling people they can’t play. They should have gotten the go ahead before hand. It’s crazy to me how people meat ride companies like this.

We have to remember that this small indie company runs on BHVR time so we'll probably be good to go by Monday....

Yeah this is so frustrating. They act like OH well you can still play without crossplay. But anyone who actually prepped for this event is screwed. Rank Reset rewards has be FAR over the cap. Like I am going to want to spend hundreds of thousands of BP if I can't even get the anniversary stuff? So I'd have to play just to play. Getting nothing….while everyone else is getting massive points. So dumb. They literally picked the worst day of the entire month to start the event.
Honestly 1 million BP isn't enough of a reward after this. THe amount were losing right now is insane

It is a very difficult task to allow a scheduled update that every other platform had no issue doing. Come on people have some sympathy for the great minds that work at Microsoft.

The last time I remember one of these Certifications messing up the timings of a major update was back when Trickster was due out. One of the consoles didn't verify it in time (usually takes 3-5 days) and the chapter was pushed back for everyone by a week.
Usually they update everyone all at the same time, and have done so for years. Most likely for this they said ship it as most players will be able to get it, because Xbox I believe is the smallest playerbase of the consoles. And I'm on Xbox too sadly.
