Anyone notice that...
Anytime survivors have 4 gens done and killer has 1-2 hooks. Survivors start to do totems, chests, sabo hook, interact with killer's objects but not Gens.

Because survivors believe they have already won, so they start to waste time and farm points other than gen repair.
I've lost count of the number of games thrown for this reason, I would rather lose a game after 2 minutes instead of in this way.6 -
If they get 4 gens done while the killer still has 2 hooks, the killer probably already gave up at the 2nd gen and is standing in a corner anyway.

This never happened in my games, literally never, whether killer or survivor
it's either one of survivors not doing gens at all from the start, or survivors do gens without hesitation till the very end

If it's clearly a complete stomp in the survivor's favour then survivors aren't going to get a great deal of BP from the match since there wont be much Chase, Unhook or Healing BP awarded. They'll do those other things, maybe even 99 the two extra gens just to make the match more worth it. If matchmaking really put much stronger survivors against a weaker killer, it's not like they have a risk of dying anyway.
I've been the killer in that scenario quite a few times and yeah it's extra annoying since you just want the match finished, but I understand why they do it. Couple of times I got a cheeky 1k with NOED anyhow.

It's completely logical for me, it's the same for me as killer:
Sometimes I just don't have time to pick-up invitations on the way or break every pallete or so on, so I just play until only 2 survivors are alive without distractions and then I do the things I didn't have time for.
It's only natural for me to ensure I don't lose because of that, but at the same time still get the points.

I have played this game for like 3k hours and since it released on steam, I think I have seen this like 5 times maybe? Not really something that happens often.

That's usually the best time to do any tome challenge I'm working on that involves totems or chests. So I don't annoy my team or make them think I'm throwing the game by doing it any earlier. If no one is on a gen though then I'll prioritise that because someone needs to be on one.

I wouldn't say this is common, but I do see it - had one such game yesterday. If the killer is pretty weak? Sure, I'll take the opportunity to farm some points and maybe walk out of the trial with a new item (since I usually don't bring items into matches.) And I figure it's a semi-nice thing to do on the same level that absolutely crushing some baby survivors and taking a minute to hit the brakes and let them recover before going in for the kill is vaguely polite.
Also, yeah, it's a great time to get archives done that would otherwise be throwing - white glyphs, 'cleanse 12 bones', the works.
Though doing bones at that point is sometimes just a safety measure a la "this killer isn't good, NOED?"

Wait they were doing gens before?

I used to be that person that would farm points because as someone stated above the killer could be afk somewhere but then I realized maybe it's better to just finish the gens and leave because whoever does get caught is going to be camped/tunneled and I don't want that to be me.

Its because survivors can't pip at a certain point with just doing gens. That and also they want to get more points and don't see the killer as a threat anymore.

Not to mention hidden risk of game afoot and rancor
Even afk killers can kill you, at the end

I do this in my Survivor games too (chests and totems that is. I'm not daft enough to think it's a good idea to goad the Killer into a chase I'll probably lose, only to be left dangling on the hook by my teammates). It's Survivors trying to play a bit more chill, the equivalent of letting a team get a few gens done as Killer if you've got 6 hook states at 5 gens.
Of course, it's not always the case of wanting to be "nice" to your opponent. Sometimes they're just 99ing the last gen (or the gates) because they want to mess with the Killer for a bit before bagging at the gates for a "GG EZ" 4E.

I just like to break totems and open chests for points, and to hopefully escape with a new item.

Yeah, I see this as well. It can absolutely throw the game because sometimes the reason things have been going so well is that every pallet on the map has been burned and now there is very little protection and not that many gens for the killer to defend.

They get cocky because they believe they have already won. They have not. The game is not over until those exit gates are open and everyone's out, this is why endgame builds exist.

I personally do this to give the killer more pressure and to allow them more hooks, but I guess that is the answer instead… (not everybody is malicious)
I have accidentally thrown doing that, causing a 4k, but I also feel bad that they have no gens left and barely any hooks. They deserve points too, especially during the event. Idc if I accidentally give a 4k because the killer takes advantage of my kindness. It’s a game, we’re here to have fun, and I want to make sure each person gets a fair amount of points if possible.

Both a mixture of farming BP but also for me mainly totems to prevent NOED from spawning. Fun fact I actually had it spawn while I was in the middle of cleansing a totem so when it activated boom went down after two seconds.

I don't do that, but that's also because the killer can make a comeback at any point, even with five gens done and both gates open. If I have practically no points and there's no NOED, I might do some extra credit stuff, but other than that, I do want to be able to secure the big BP escape bonus.

Usually they continue to do gens with their busted toolboxes just to say "ggwp" at the end acting like they just played better ( happens for both sides btw )
2 -
Never seen other survivors do this, they always just push the last Gen then leave.

Only in my solo matches. As killer, never.
