NOED buff
If there's a single dull totem left on the map by the time the exit gates are powered, NOED comes into effect. At that point, it cannot be disabled (it's no longer a Hex perk). NOED exposes all survivors, but has no other effect.
This way, survivors will finally see totems as the objective they are. Discuss.

This is a good idea for punishing 4swf , but for solo survivor is an unfair nightmare.

It's not about punishment, it's about making survivors realize that totems are objectives too.
They count toward escape, because NOED is a thing, and I'm pretty sure escape counts toward an emblem.

Noed is such a bad perk. Its good to punish genrush but if survivors break totems on sight breaking 5 prolongs game by 20 seconds. Not really worth it but survivors are dumb enough to not break them.
Just watch the salt and hurdurs of survivor mains coming in 3...2...1...

The thing is that they aren’t forced which is why we don’t call them a second objective. I wouldn’t mind this since it encourages totem cleansing.

I mean if it makes others survivors cleanse the totems then yeet this into the next patch, maybe they’ll learn noed has been their own fault all along. If everyone cleansed a totem when they saw one or at an opportune time this wouldn’t be an issue. I’d go buff noed though where it’s permanent until all totems are cleansed, Bc I’m sick of these punks giving survivors a bad name.

So in effect it's a haste buff and reveals auras but no longer exposes? personally i love that idea, it makes it an end-game monster perk.
But for spice to make it real scary i think it should Haste, Reveal Aura AND also remove the killers terror radius.
They are still not instadowned and can still escape but the killer remains a real threat. and they still have incentive to remove the totems to stop it.

Letting survivors bleed out doesnt count towards emblem either.
Emblems still have some flaws, but there is no reason to rank up anyway, so...

Solo survivors can be screwed over if one or two don't do totems with this but swf will be able to know what's been done and coordinate what parts of the map have been searched.
Not to mention solo players are not in a team, they will be at more of a disadvantage due to what some random others do.

If that would be the case breaking totems should be more rewarding imo. Or at least buff small game so that it tells you how many totems are still left unbroken OR how many totems you personally broke.
There's some maps where it can be really hard to find totems (Hospital/ The Game/ Swamp sometimes).
Not being able to break NOED would completely change the end game especially if you get spotted at the wrong place and when most pallets and broken and people start dropping like flies. You have to leave them on the hook unless you want to die trying to save the person on the hook, because the killer will most likely camp.
So it basically gives the killer a free kill if they find someone because it will be really hard to save someone because that one totem got missed.
And before people say don't gen rush... hurdur
What are survivors supposed to do but do gens? It's literally the only thing that can power the exit gates. Ruin got buffed, Discordance is a thing (which can be very annoying) The new entity perk that only makes you patrol 4 gens in the beginning, Pop goes the weasel. There's plenty of perks that can slow down the progress, and you shouldn't DEPEND solely on them otherwise you're bound to fail.
Playing killer is more than just chasing survivors, you have to play smart and not chase people mindlessly.

Break one totem. Use the pre-game chat to explain that you should all each break one totem. Boom, solved.

I think breaking totems is already rewarding enough, since it prevents NOED, but that's just me.

Now that we have a secondary objective, devs don't need to work on the secondary objective, and gen rush is not a real thing since we already have another objective.

NOED is really strong against poorly coordinated survivors (solo survivors). However, I wouldn't mind the perk also showed the auras of survivors who DIDN'T cleanse a dull totem.

I suppose compared to Fragrant Tuft of Hair, the NOED idea is easier to deal with as long as no one on the team is a potato (not to mention no speed boost). I guess my question is if the best way to incentivize Survivors to look for Totems beyond active Hex perks is to scare them with the boogeyman of a perk that a Killer may or may not have equipped.
To be honest, it makes me wonder if there's a way to tone down the idea enough to just make the idea base kit (my first instinct says no, though).

IMO it's fine as it is now, and I wouldn't touch the Haste effect, which makes it a real strong perk. Survivors not recognizing totems as secondary objectives is a problem that should be adressed in the tutorial and the description found in-game. Maybe even an official statement from the devs.
And then in every thread talking about gen rushing, where a common argument is "what else are survivors supposed to do?" We all answer "Totems". There you are. Look for them and cleanse them.

You dont create a second objective by making a perk like that. You create a second objective by providing an incentive that's worth the risk.
SWF groups wont care about NOED. This wont be enough to stop gen rushing.

It's fine right now, any buffs would make Adrenaline need a buff (NOEDS counterpart). And I know how killers would #########. I'm 99% sure you've made this to trigger survivors. And if you haven't then I'll say respectfully, I disagree with you.

If I'd made a thread to trigger people, it'd have received a lot more triggered responses.
Note that this would remove the movement speed bonus as well, making it weaker against looping.

I would be alright with that if they left 1 totem on the map, it becomes a permanent/don't stand at the gate like a moron/push out perk at the very least.
I know this would be very very strong. Having NOED that couldn't be broken after it starts. But like Orion said. It would force survivors to break 5 totems at 14 seconds each...
Not a big deal. I still think it's fine the way it is.

My suggestions are always intended to be balanced. I wouldn't suggest something like making NOED permanent (under certain conditions) without taking away something from it.

yea buff it and nerf more survivor perks -,- I usually play alone as survivor in this game and i have to say 1 thing. Nerf of DS is total crap i stoped use it because it is too useless now. lets buff more killer perks. maybe you should delete all survivors perks and give more buffs for killer hmm let me think maybe eternal survivor aura through walls, or maybe just insta kill of survivors if they will not escape in first 5 minutes ... ech and now this new killer (it will be new legion, i will not care about leaving when i will see it) last 3 killers are for unskilled noobs you dont even need perks on these killers. Ech this game becomes worse and worse for survivor players .... time to leave it -,-

They already are objectives. This would just force survivors to wake up to that fact. Besides, a perk for a perk seems fair, especially since Small Game has more uses than NOED and cannot be disabled.

I would agree with this change if devs also implimented sound notification when all totems are broken so that solos don't try to find totems when there are actually none left.
Overall it seems pretty balanced considering that survivors set the pace of the game and totems are super easy to find just randomly.

its ok as it is now but if you want noed to be PERMANENT then no way, put the counter. this would force killers to know its a hex and a risk to use.

Killers already know it's a hex and a risk to use. I mean, it's right there in the name. It's survivors who refuse to disable it.
