A Question for Survivors (Status Effect: Blind)

Killers have a few Status Effects they can leave on you like Mangled and Hemorrhage, and these two I can see the impact, But there's one status effect I can't really see.

Does Blindness slow you down at all?

As a killer player I'm under the impression that auras aren't always a big deal for survivors. And it isn't a big deal for survivors to lose their aura reading for a minute or so. It's not always clear if when I bring these add-ons for Blind that they see use. So i'd like to know.

How often do you get blinded by killers? And does being blinded slow you down?

    potentially losing the location of a hooked survivor is a big bad…. i run alot of aura perks so it makes my build alot weaker

    A big part of the reason I like bringing Alert and Empathy is for map awareness while I'm on a gen, so I find Mindbreaker's Blindness effective enough as it essentially cancels two of my perks at a time when I find them quite beneficial. Alert shows me the killers position, which direction they are heading in, and a general idea of where pallets have been dropped and broken so I know where to run when the killer approaches me . Empathy shows me where my team mate is currently being chased, which is handy when it's happening near me while I'm on the gen and so i can hop off and take a hit if necessary. Both are still beneficial when off a gen too, but Mindbreaker does take away a chunk of the info I want. So Blindness can be effective in my personal experience.

    Bring something to make them blind and watch the WoO addicts run straight into dead zones. It's so sad how easy you can down people with that..

    Good Survivors won't care, IMHO,

    Good survivors and swf are not severally impacted by blindness whatsoever. Swf is obvious but it does somewhat slow down the unhook process and it's kind of disgusting when slugging. That is if you bring something more permanent like Third Seal.

    SoloQ on the other hand and more casual players will struggle because they are much more reliant on aura's and perks like Windows of Oppotunities to get information.

    Of course, it's impossible to tell until you actually get into a match to find out the kind of survivors you're dealing with.

    blinder stops you from seeing auras - so for example if a teammate is downed, you can’t see where they fell or the killer picking them up etc until they’re hooked


    as a survivor main, I’d say auras are definitely a big deal.

    blindness is strong for hit & run in soloq. If you play like wraith with sloppy butcher with franklin demise vs med-kits. you'd be surprised how difficult it is for team to get healed when you cannot see teammates auras. you can build-up a lot of chaos in the team.

    blindness favours hit & run gameplay and slugging but isn't too effective past that. vs 4 man swf, it literally does nothing.

    hex: third seal blindness makes soloq play selfish. every player for themselves. you get less altruistic gameplay and more push gen gameplay. it can be detrimental for a lot of killers but can also opportunity to punish reckless/risky behaviour. double-edge sword.

    Blindness is largely an irritant than anything but I think Windows users will hate it the most since they cant see pallets/windows (unless that changed?).
