Taking a break from 1vs8
This mode desperately needs an MMR.
Since yesterday something has changed in my matches.
- I'm systematically grouped with somebody who has decided to learn Huntress (and probably killer) on 2vs8.
- Survivors have finally found that doing gens in parallel at all costs without ever healing (aka tunneling for survivors, except this one is as easy in this mode as in 1vs4) is the way to go.
No more chaos, only trying to hold 8 players basically alone. (On my last match my teammate could have been AFK it would have been the same.)
When I was losing with a friend it was fun because we were laughing about it.
When I'm losing with a stranger, I don't find being sandbagged for the survivor I've just downed funny. Not the first time, not the following five times.
It may be just bad luck after a stroke of several days of good luck but wasting two hours of only that kind of matches is more that I can accept.
Tonight I'm back on 1vs4
I'll exclusively do the rift of both sides from tomorrow then I'll be fully back to 1vs4.

….Do you want a teammate for 2v8? =D

Nah. This is supposed to be a chill mode for both sides. The last thing this needs is MMR.

If you need a good Huntress for 2v8 I got you lol. That's the only killer I play so I don't have to worry about getting a bad Huntress on my team. She is the hardest of the 5 for a new player to get the hang of besides Nurse I think. But she is the only ranged killer available so a lot of people want to play her.

If you are in Europe, it could be done.
Same as above: if you are in Europe, it could be done ^_^.

If you think adding MMR would fix 2v8 matchmaking, I'm sorry to have to remind you that solo queue survivor has had MMR for years, and it does not work lmao.

Im in the Us…
But worse comes to worse. i can suffer with ping and play withcha =D

it def HAD mmr before behavior decided to switch it off to get quicker queue times
because obviously no baby surv/killer wants to fight veterans, that would be just unfair
its not really fun to face the same sweat huntress + (killer here) combo
it would be obv to have some sort of mmr matchmaking since it did have it since lightsout
(confirmed in dbd offical discord by the devs)
but it is what it is, ill be also hopping onto 1v4 until halloween event, sad but was fun for a day2 -
it alr got sweaty asf after a day, thats what the community always does until behavior literally has to force/lock out every sweaty thing possible so everyone can have fun

I appreciate it but I'm not sure that would work. There is a big risk of disconnection as this mode/servers aren't exactly the most stable. (I got a disconnection in a lobby and my ping is usually around 36 : back to a 15 minutes wait)

I kinda like the loose MMR of this mode to be honest. It's very chaotic, but I feel like it's probably a bit closer to how DBD was before MMR replaced the Grade system (I wasn't playing back then). The matches are more variable and because of that, tend to be a bit more chill overall.
It certainly beats getting turbo stomped for 10 trials in a row because you escaped a Blight once, anyway.

Hahah. So true, although it might work if survivors would just do the main objective instead of all the other bs.

no casual game mode should have mmr. If winning and dominating is your thing. Get a killer friend or stick to 1v4. Casual mode does not need a bunch of killers that take Otz word as scripture and tunnel and learn the cage spawn to prevent saves because it’s a “totally legitimate strategy”. We’re already seeing mass slugging and hillbillies/wraiths using their turbo speed to get to cages.
KEEP IT CASUAL PLEASE. The goofiness is part of the appeal. I had a match as killer where I got 19 hook stages and my team mate had 2. I even took a screenshot. But it was fun helping out the baby killer and watching them do their thing.

As far as survivors being better/more efficient.. I feel like it was easier at first because of how many new/returning players there were trying out the new mode. The player count has gone down a lot since the day 2v8 released which means the population is normalizing and there are less casuals than there were. I think this would naturally make the game harder and harder over time. You getting bad teammates could just be bad luck.

That's the thing. It's not chaotic anymore.
You should love the survivor side of my games then: gens gens gens unless you are bleeding on the ground. That's all I've got since Monday night.
When it was casual : sure. But now that about every team I've versed was sticking to the gens it's not casual anymore. Only gen-rush vs tunneling attempts.
If I'm with another experienced killer the match outcome can go either way. If I'm not it's just a five minute thing.
(Hence I went back to 1vs4 : not waiting 15 minutes for that)

the last time i played I waited 20 minutes in queue just to get paired with a nurse bot :) Never again
0 -
Wow, that sounds even more unlucky than I've been.
How was the bot playing by the way? On a scale of 0 to 10? (10 being "god" level)

It works sufficiently for this.
Gen-rushers and tunnelers will end up together while chill players will stay on the fun, chaotic, matches.
(And I won't be grouped with someone with less than 20 times my hours … I hope)

this doesn’t happen in 1v4. Why would it be different in 2v8?
3 -
1 I guess? it got into chases, and used nurses power, but i think it only got like 2-3 hits, not a single down, no gens kicked, nothing... No need to mention there were 0 kills and the match ended in about 4 minutes, maybe less

Im in the US lol. Tragic

not casual so not touching the mode anymore.

It's how it goes for me in 1vs4 on the killer side.
If I play chill, most of my games become chill after a while.
If I play hard, they become hard in a few matches.
On the survivor side it's mostly about getting out of MMR hell and then you can't really decide to play chill or not as it's kind of a group decision.

A beginner then.
I'm guessing many think starting killer on 2vs8 is a good idea.
0 -
A tragedy indeed. 😭
Ah well.
Today, rift survivor side.
Tomorrow, rift killer side.
And then I'll be done with this mode.

I don’t think 2v8 can support MMR. It’s way to chaotic
1 -
It was for the first couple of days. 2vs8 hasn't been chaotic for me from about Monday.
Maybe it was a streak of bad luck but I'm not eager to waste my time experimenting.
