Prestige finally hidden in lobby. Rejoice!
Now we just need to hide profiles till end-game and lobbies should be more or less fixed.

I am so happy they're finally implementing that. The intimidation a simple number can cause some players is crazy.

tbh i dont want em to hide profiles. I would love to see if x person has VAC bans so i can dodge potential hackers.

People with cheats just go anon mode or are off-platform. The 'control' you think you have being able to dodge cheaters is a placebo

VAC ban is not a reliable indication, a hacker is way more likely to use a fresh new account rather than a old one. And there's more games that use EAC than VAC.

I think for survivors it might be okay, but there's no reason for killers to be able to see hours + who's friends with who and dodge.

The reason to even have the number is to show it off. If you can't show it off, why even have the number?

To be honest I couldnt care less. Prestige had abolutely no value. That some players got intimidated by mere number with no value is just sad and tells much about those players.

Horrible change. A lot of times i get looped extremely hard then the game ends and it was a P100.
Do i sometimes win over them? Yes for sure, but on my experience de ratio is like 25-75.
25% of the time i win easily / win but close against a P100.
75% of the time i lose extremely hard against the P100.
Everyone seems to think "hey is just a number" and thats a blatant lie, at least for me. My own experience says that P100 means skill (and, oh well, getting a P100 means a lot of time spent so its pretty normal?). Hey, or maybe i am just the most unlucky person on DBD history and im playing against the best P100 players in the world.
And the best part is someone on reddit tested hundreds of games if im not mistaken, ant the stats did show that the P100 were MUCH better that the ones that were not.
Again, horrible change. Give me some option to disable going against people that are more prestige than me, then we can hide the prestige number.

Sounds like you've been cheesing your way to an MMR you don't belong in and will finally be forced to take appropriate matches.
Losing enough games will put you back in the right MMR. This is intended.

I did absolutely think about that. As far as i know, it seems to be extremely easy to reach the top MMR where most matches are just a sweat fest.
At the end sadly i think the best solution is just to spend an entire day or something going into matches, go afk since min 1 and let them win to low your MMR as hard as you can.

I mean is losing that bad? Instead of going AFK you might as well learn as you play.
You might end up in the right MMR sooner rather than later from the self-improvement gained.

But it is just a number.
If you win a game against 4 low Prestige-Survivors, you dont even know if they have P100s or not. So thinking that you lose especially against P100-Survivors is just a strange thought.
I would go so far that you will most likely have won more games against full P100-Squads (which were just not using their main Survivor) than you actually lost to them.

This change should (theoretically) help you then. You might be getting these better opponents because the killer who was initially matched with them dodged, and so the game prioritised queue times over MMR (as it does). Now that the aforementioned killers won't see the prestige and won't dodge anymore, you should stop getting these cracked P100 survivors and should instead get those more on your level.

This is the most common misconception I see in the forums, and it's everywhere:
You aren't at Max MMR, you're at the limit of your ability, and there's a big difference.
Just because you win, doesn't necessarily mean your MMR goes up by a significant amount. In fact, nearly every MMR system worth mentioning will compensate for a 1000 ranked player stomping a team of 400's by giving the 1000 player basically or actually nothing for winning such a mismatch, and likewise the 400's won't lose anything in that scenario.
Everyone has a limit to their individual skill, but let's not make the mistake in assuming everyone's limit is "the best in the game". That's just ego at a certain point, and I see that far more than people talking like they have any actual skill on this forum.

I think that there is a clear difference between losing and getting hard stomped tho..
One does give you some margin to learn, the other does not.
Imagine you a re a novice boxer and go against prime Mike Tyson. The match start and in less than 3 seconds he punches you and KOs you.
You did learn absolutely nothing of that fight.
It seems right now with some killers it is just a win hard or lose hard situation. Few games i think that i feel they are "close".
About the squads, hey, maybe i did… i cannot know for sure.
However i totally know that the very few times i get into a full P100 lobby and i though "well, maybe is just a number, lets just go for it" and i got extremely lucky to get 2 hooks before they all did escape.
I honestly didnt think about this. Maybe on some games it is a healthy change.

What i have heard many times is that its easy to reach the MMR point where the game just can pair you against literally anyone, no matter if they have 400 or 10k hours.

Why are some people saying this. You can still flex your P100 in the post game screen.
Just like killers. They can't show off their P100 til the match ends. Now we're all in the same boat.

I'm all for this. Such a welcome change.
My highest Survivor prestige is a P20 Meg and I've got to be real here, almost all of my BP is earned playing Killer. Prestige might suggest some degree of experience, but it has absolutely nothing at all to do with skill level. I'm a fairly experienced Survivor but still not a very good one.
I'm glad I don't need to worry about accidentally getting my Meg to P100. I don't spend a lot of BP on my Survivor main because I don't often bring an item or an offering into a trial, but I'm sure I'll make it to P100 eventually just by playing a lot.

There are only 2 reasons the matchmaking system pairs people this way:
One is of you're waiting for a game for an extremely long time, the matchmaker will gradually expand the search range until this happens. In this extreme of an example, it would take something like 20-30 minute queues, and require that no one else is queueing all during that window. This is absolutely not normal or common for queue times.
The only other reason this happens is because another killer dodged the lobby. At that point, the matchmaker stops caring about a good match, and looks only for a quick match. Then it pulls whoever is next into an existing lobby regardless of the MMR spread.
So if you get this "regularly", what you really are asking for is for the devs to reduce lobby dodging. That's 100% the goal with hiding prestige.

Okey, honestly i didnt think about this possibility before. I think i did hear that it was easy to reach the highest MMR even from top players, so seeing that they have more knowledge than me i though they were just right.
But yeah, what you are saying can also be a possibility. Lets see how this ends with those changes…

I'm so glad they didn't go for the "make it a toggle!" idea that'd actually make it worse (as then both open P100s and anyone DARING to use a privacy feature in a community that has a creepy amount of privacy shaming would be dodged for the same reason).
Got a good feeling when I saw prestige was invisible in the 2v8 lobby, I'm glad that turned out to be a sign of something good to come.

No, having it optional would be even worse. Killers will know that the survivor choosing to hide their prestige is most likely a high level, so they'll just dodge or harass them anyway. It's best to keep prestige hidden for everyone until the end of the match

Lobby dodging is just a symptom of much larger problem.
Maybe they should be focused on fixing the disease instead of just treating the symptoms.

I'm curious what you think the "disease" here is exactly.
Since, in my opinion, and by many, many people's own admission one of the main reasons people lobby dodge is either for easier games or they get some kind of "bad vibe" (and just think the game won't be easy or fair for some subjective reason).
In those majority of cases, were talking about human nature to take the easy way out. That's not something the game or the devs can fix, but hiding prestige is one way to prevent those same people from dodging for reasons that aren't valid. (For example "all P100 players are cheaters, or gods at the game" are two very common sentiments that are both simply wrong).

For anyone saying, "I can't show off my prestige anymore", note that the only time anyone ever sees the Killer's prestige is in this same end-game screen. And I'm sure they too like to show their dedication to a certain character, but only have one moment to do so. Now the same is true again for the Survivors.
I don't see the issue with this change at all. Prestige does not equal skill and is just a badge of honour.10
