Did we just forget what Scott Cawthon did?

I don't feel any unfairness in this kind of opinion and I feel blatant bias from your wording, if you said same thing a long time ago, all that tells me is you've been disliked those kind community for longer time, at least that would be my interpretation
No matter how they "show a support", it doesn't matter when they also show the support for opposite (not sure if it's true this time but whatsoever) opinions, because that'll make the "support" they shown looks like nothing but a corporate advertisement program
Don't get me wrong as I don't feel anything towards the way BHVR do things, beside some unfairly nerfs, but I don't blame anyone for feeling like they've been cheated

im not trying to demonise people who would buy this chapter. i just think if they never sell the chapter at all, then i never have to worry about someone using it the same way people used to use bubba's smartface cosmetic (especially with all the pride charms people are wearing nowadays) and i don't have to worry about playing a game that helped give money to someone who publicly gives financial and verbal support to a fascist.
it's not "people who buy this are bigots". it's "bhvr shouldnt support a bigot and funnel money towards a bigot".

Do you realize the implications that are made when people criticize FNAF this way? Its like saying the entire FNAF fanbase are bigots or anti lgbt for playing a FNAF game or supporting it in any way. That is why this level of criticism is irrational.
4 -
Thank you. Someone had to say it. Cancelling someone based off their own beliefs is just sad and pathetic.

Again I actually don't think it's fair to label Scott a bigot just form other donations he's made, everything I've read has lead me to believe his big issues are abortion and "national security against foreign threats" and the positions of those politicians on LGBTQ rights are an after thought to Scott. Also FNAF actually has a huge LGBTQ community within it so it's extremely likely to run into in the future someone playing presumably Springtrap and having a bunch of pride charms on their hooks and meaning it. I think the most accurate way you could put it is "I don't want my money going to someone I don't agree with politically and donates money to people that don't support the LGBTQ community" and that's completely fair. It might seem like splitting hairs to a degree but I think pointing out that difference is important to making a good faith argument.

I don't see anything wrong in that, because that's literally how money flows in there
knowingly or unknowingly those who gives money to a person through literally anything is supporting that one specific person, that's just an objective fact so no amount of arguing or excuse or disagreement can deny that one fact
the point should be if that person ACTUALLY has that one opinion or not, and whether he uses money to it or not, questioning "support" is pointless because it is just a fact

noone mentioned his religion, ever, at any point, in any thread, except people who are using it as a smokescreen to defend his bigoted actions and points of view. if you are equating "being a bigot" and "being a christian", you did that, noone else did.
12 -
But aren't you demonizing BHVR for collaborating with FNAF? Do you think everyone who has purchased a FNAF product is a bigot or wrong in any way?
3 -
They absolutely have mentioned his religion. I’ve seen that get brought up in so many other platforms outside of the forums.
Besides, he is not a bigot for donating. He just believed that the people and organizations he donated to will help his country, which there is nothing wrong with that. Just because you disagree doesn’t make him a bigot.
5 -
if people outside of these forums are doing that, then you should also be outside of these forums taking it up with them. i will even support you in that endeavour, because i too think it is tasteless to attack someone's religion or physical appearance when the problem is their bigoted points of view.
and um. the things his money went to? those things caused grief and suffering to be directed towards marginalised groups. and he knew that would happen, and did so anyway, and then it happened. so, yes, he is a bigot. factually.
once again, when the guy himself says "yes, i did all of those things, and i regret none of them", you would think people wouldn't try to convince others that he didn't do what he did. he admitted to doing them.

I don't agree at all. My kids are massive FNAF fans and have asked (and received) plenty of merchandise and games over the years. I still think it is perfectly valid for people to be concerned about what financial influence this may have. There are people who refuse to buy any products from Nestlé, for example, because of unethical practices. People who refuse to buy products made in certain countries because of child labour laws. People can be concerned about human rights without me taking offence.
BHVR have always been supportive of and provided a safe space for people regardless of race, gender, and sexual orientation, and people feeling let down by the company with this collab are perfectly entitled to their feelings.
7 -
It's ridiculous to think like "it was like that in every other platform, so it must be same here!" when there is no indicator of those kind of things actually happening in here at all
At the very least, you should try to use in forum example instead of vast internet where anything can happen anywhere
7 -
don't you think there's a small difference between individual consumers and mainstream franchises?
like, just a little bit?
edit: sorry, this is a little rude.
what i'm trying to say is: what people do on an individual level concerns me much less. people are nuanced. we have attachments and traumas. we have stressors. we have cravings. we struggle and we seek relief. i would rather somebody buy a fnaf game than a packet of cigarettes, for example. and it's not only impossible, but also unfair to impose a moral standpoint on an individual consumer making a purchase.
i can, however, hold bhvr responsible for the studios that it decides to collaborate with. bhvr is not a person, but more than that, bhvr doesn't just represent one purchase - it represents the opportunity to create thousands of purchases.

Your whole argument was about funneling money to Scott Cawthon. I can promise you he's made way more money from FNAF overall than he ever will from just this collaboration and this collaboration is going to make a lot of money if I had to guess.
1 -
Ofc I’ve seen it on the forums as well, and do you just expect me to try to search the depths of this six-year old website to find an example?
1 -
The abortion position is the reason why I'm going to be hesitant to buy this chapter. I'm not american so in theory it does not impact me and there are probably a ton of companys that hold this opinion that I have supported unknowingly, but idk, still don't want my money to go there.
7 -
Then you have no reason to say anything like "in outside of the forums", because that implies you haven't seen anything in this forum yet
Also if the post is so old to the point you can't even remember it, that means opinion doesn't represent community in slightest, makes pointing that out entirely meaningless
6 -
if you're going to bring it up and wave it in the face of people who have not done that and are not going to do that, yes. i will expect that of you. it would be courteous if you wasted more of your own time than you waste of ours.
do me the pleasure of at least proving that this happened somewhere on this forum, and then i can say "well it sucks that happened but noone's doing it in this thread at all so there's really no need to be so stuck on this". then you can tell me that scott's conviction that my human rights aren't important is just a matter of opinion, again.

Really don't understand what the whole drama is here. I understand he donated to some sort of political party or whatever but is that really it?
0 -
I mean, money means lot more than words in majority of the time
4 -
Yes he donated to politicians that shared anti-LGBT views. This was his response

1st of all honestly who cares? He is entitled to have a different point of view from you or other people no? it's called democracy, you can disagree with him but not for this you should demonize him… and 2nd as i stated various times, people should learn to leave politics OUT of the games once and for all since those things cause more harm than benefit generally speaking…
4 -
also this☝️
2 -
I don't think they forgot, I think they just don't care. BHVR is a Canadian company, they don't care that Scott donated to anti-lgbt+ US politicians because it's not their civil rights on the chopping block. The money they make from the DLC will help them ignore any of the complaints. It would take the FNAF DLC earning no money and a large drop in player base for them to care.
4 -
The vitriol he got for his political affiliation is childish and entitled
6 -
LGBTQ+ is what BHVR is actively trying to push IN the game for years, if you call that politics you should blame BHVR first
5 -
You mean used his money in ways he saw fit after donating significantly more to multiple pro-lgbt charities, and then proceeding to get doxxed and have his family threatened by crazy people over it?
Ah yes, truly a awful thing, how dare he, clearly the guy who is very clearly not anti-lgbt if you have looked at his history of donations is the bad guy, uh huh, definitely
