Stat: The majority of people are playing 2v8 now

From the dev update:

"We’ll wrap things up with a deep dive into the results after 2v8 is over but wanted to share this, which informed our decision to extend: 2v8 has proven to be very popular despite the queue times, accounting for over 40% of all matches since its release, even after removing the extra BP incentive."

If 40% of all matches are 2v8, and 2v8 has double the players, that means 57% of players are doing 2v8 instead of 1v4, even after removing the 400% bp incentive. Given these numbers doesn't it seem more likely BHVR will make this mode permanent, since most players seem to prefer it.

It would easily overtake the 1v4, if it had more maps, and more classes, and all the killers the game has to offer. There's no competition.

The mode needs more killers. Huntress is by far one of the most popular killers but if everyone queues with her, of course matching is going to take a long time. Survivors don't have this issue they just pick and change whenever they want. I think perhaps killers should have a "Request Switch" option in their lobby so if they want to change with their partner then they can. Naturally that doesn't solve all the other issues, but it's a start.

All bp incentives are on 1vs4 that they are testing now. Giving more would bonus to 1vs4 is not smart instead 2vs8 should have bigger incentive as no cakes.

Normally it's only 100% for 1vs4. Then you have 3-4 cakes per game so in fact 1vs4 does not need any bp incentives.

It does if the killer queues are 15 minutes.

If people want 2v8 to be permanent, they need to find a way not to kill 1v4.

Its impossible to compare this mode directely with core mod. core mode is old and 2v8 is an inovation and different so. OBVIOUSLY, NOW, 2v8 is more interesting to play, how interesting he will be after 4,5 months? these numbers are inflationeted because this mode is overhyped rightnow, need so much attention during any analyse. I think these modes shoudnt be permanent, core mode need to be a principal mode and others need to be a "event mode". After 2v8 many people could be lose interesting in play the 1v4 and will left the game after 2v8 ends. BHVR has a "predatory" problem in their hands. Im worry about future. I personaly didnt like 2v8, i prefer classic mode and im not playing because MMR on 1v4 is absolutely destroied and my matches are constantly a new player acc vs p100 spirit. Im sad this mode was extended, once week more without play.

2vs8 at the moment is only limited so majority will want to play it but if it comes pernament some player will return 1vs4. But it might be time to nerf killers if people do not want to play survivor. As now everyone wants to play killer.

Whose to know 1vs4 killer queque times might still stay longer once 2vs8 leaves killer players in 2vs8 will return to play killer in 1vs4.

2v8 was fun for a bit but am excited for it to end. The only thing I have against it is how it is destroyed the game for killers. 15 minutes of waiting per 3-5 minute match is not what makes a game fun and keeps people playing. It is a good thing they need fewer killers, because it seems like at this rate they will lose a lot just from queue times. I like playing survivor with friends, but want to play killer and do those compendiums. For now, it is a dead game for me. Cannot do compendiums, cannot play killer. Survivor with no goal is just another party game that gets dropped eventually.

Well, they will lose a lot of players. I haven't been playing the game at all because I find 2v8 boring with the same two killers every single match (the times I played before I got bored I faced a Billy once, otherwise it was Huntress and Trapper.)

MAYBE when they get the rest of the killers added, but the fact that you can't use any perks, you can't play any killers but those 5 original killers, its just boring AF.

Whats funny is we have a similar experience with normal mode. Bleet, Wesker, Billy, an occasional odd man killer are the only things we see in 1v4 who then proceeds to run the same 7 or so perks...but that doesn't have the excuse 2v8 has of only having 5 killers.

People will loose interest in 1v4 because 2v8 is more fun. But there would be always a population for both game mode.

I dont understand how adding new game mode can be bad. Removing game mode is bad.

While I am definitely on team "1v4" is the better mode, I think we all have to realize that most players here on the forums play more than the average casual player. For the person who occasionally plays DBD 2v8 is going to be the more enticing mode, and I suspect that as much as we may not like it, 2v8 over time will be the more populated mode

I can't wait for 2v8 to end. Taking a break until it does. Don't get me wrong. I had my fun. I think it has its place in DBD. I hope it comes back periodically. But this game mode is not in a good position to be made permanent. I think that would be a huge mistake.

As a survivor, I would love to see more killer options!

I don't know if I perceive things differently but I love how silly this game mode is.

I also appreciate that it ends quicker if you are SWF. I find with 1v4 some killers play favourites with the survivors or aim a specific character and you end up waiting for ages for the game to end if you die first. This mode just seems quicker.

The spook factor of 2v8 is different too, being chased by a killer then finding out the other is there too is scary fun!

I need it to end. I miss the quiet intimacy of 1v4 in comparison.
