All Things Wicked DLC feels like
Its just about Sable. Unknown is forgotten or something. No skins, nobody talks about it, etc. Meanwhile sable gets every chapter skin(s) and is one of the most played picked Survivor. Seems like the DLC was just about Sable at this point.

killers are about power, survivors are just skin. so they gotta make them popular

"All Things Sable" DLC I would rename it.

What do people expect, considering that Unknown has a 7 second cooldown on UVX, it only takes 10 seconds for survivors to remove weakened, and if Unknown want to break line of sight, it has to be longer than 1.25 seconds because of the reveal buffer?
The time window between one UVX hit to the next UVX hit, isn’t large enough to be fun for the killer. It ends up being really frustrating for the killer most of the time, because even if the killer does manage to get 2 hits in a row, the extreme time restriction makes it feel more stressful than fun.

I have to agree. He feels hard to play, the window of opportunity (no perk reference intendet hah) is pretty low and you are far better of playing Huntress that does what Unknown's main power but like 2x times more effectively. I would trade wall/small AoE shots for insta damage on direct hit anytime.

To be fair, this was inevitable.
The Unknown feels like wasted potential, considering the hype and expectations for this chapter after all those teasers dropped, while Sable was perfect from the start.

There's lots of killers now, and the stronger ones are easier to run that Unknown. I think he's clucky and unresponsive with my controller, not as bad as say Singularity, but doesn't feel smoothe to play to me.
As for Sable, yeah they're just skins, but it's more about their look and cosmetics for many players. Plus the female survs are always insanely popular, and Sable's cosmetics are awesome.

Sable is a new Feng Min. I bet she's the most popular and used survivor in game

Just don't miss bro

The chances of both the Survivor and Killer of any given chapter (even licensed ones) being adopted by the same amount of players is pretty low.
I also think it's less that the Unknown is unpopular and more that Sable is just that popular. The Unknown could use some improvements (it's a shame that his only really uncanny movements in-game are during his mori), but I know plenty of people that like him.
Also, it really shouldn't be a surprise that the "goth girl" is popular in a horror game. If anything, it's weird that it's taken them this long to add a straightforward goth girl.I don't have Sable yet, but I'm planning on getting her. She's the first Survivor that's felt like "me" to me. Back in the day I would have avoided her because of how many I see in matches, but now I'm not going to let that stop me playing a character that I want to play. The weird thing to me is that she's in this "Unpopular Popular" overlap. Everyone's playing her, but the only posts I'm seeing are from people who hate seeing her.

I've been playing this game for near five years, and Unknown is the first killer I've just ignored. Never used, and I didn't even bother getting it to P1 to unlock the perks. I bought the DLC and have access to it, but the killer is just completely uninspiring.
And I was pretty hyped before the full reveal, too. It seemed like we might get a cool, genuinely creepy cryptid or alien killer, but what we got was just somehow weird and boring at the same time, which is a feat. And off putting, too. Not in a scary creepy way, either. Just like a stinky sock at the bottom of the hamper that you don't want to touch but doesn't even feel worth washing.
And Sable is a home run of a survivor from a sales perspective, great for attracting simps and cosmetic collectors (and I'm guilty of buying in, she's already in my top 6 highest prestiged survs). The chapter is really all about her.

About his power:
I like the idea of his power but it has so much drawbacks and limitations: middle and long shots in chase are impossible due to the slow projectile movement speed - so easy to dodge. Hitting survivors directly is not really rewarding which is kinda sad. He has a very small~3sec window when he hits a survivor the first time. Artist has a similar one but her Birds have much more opportunities and are more lethal from close but also from afar. Good hits are still possible and very satisfying, especially when you make a good prediction shot or a nice wall hit but the power is still not that strong and more of a high risk with high skill ceiling for a mediocre reward. Survivors nowadays know how to counter and avoid the projectiles and how to remove weakened easily (not hugging walls, looking at the killer when he can't hit you, and looking at the killer during chase is the easiest one that you do anyway). His Halocinations are much better (can be stronger in chase than his projectiles) but also suffer from the random aspect and the fact it can ruin your map mobility. His Addons are also rather meh. You are forced to use the brown Addon for faster movement speed after teleporting. The green Addon for weakened survivors when they complete a generator is also important to have more opportunities of downing survivors and to not hit a survivor twice for an injury. I still like to play him and he is still enjoyable but I guess some of the mentioned issues results in why many players don't like him that much or rather play a more reliable (and easier in a different way) killer like Nurse, Blight, Billy, Huntress or Wesker.
About the cosmetic:
The Unknown got its own anniversary cosmetics, which is really cool and special - Sable got nothing. However, since then, there is no new cosmetic, which is kinda sad. I hope it will get one next month or maybe one with the Castlevania collection - potential is there. One thing that is really sad is that the Unknown will never get his own tome because the developers said that they want to keep his story hidden to keep the feeling of Unknown. Same for Dredge. So getting rift cosmetics or a spotlight can be difficult for Unknown - for Sable it will be easy, I still wait for the tome that features her and Mikaela and her relationship. But yes, Sable has much more and will get much more cosmetics, which is understandable because she has a good design and so much potential. The developers knew exactly what they did with Sable - I know it first hand, Sable is my survivor main :x

Believe it or not but survivors mains actually bring in more money than killer players. They’re more likely to buy cosmetics for their in-game dolls. Sable is a hit so they’re going to pour into her. The unknown, even if it had an amazing power, still wouldn’t net the revenue in cosmetic sales that Sable has and will continue to do.
But to offer you a little food for thought, compare the Dredge with Haddie for a reverse of this trope. The power is weak (like Unknown) but it receives more cosmetics/attention than its counterpart because people buy its cosmetics.

Unknown also didn’t appear in the trailer for All Things Wicked.
Probably because they had a ton of teasers, but still funny that they didn’t make an appearance outside of the splash screen at the end in the trailer.

I've never thought I'll end up disliking a goth girl character, but here we are.
Like, I wanted to like Sable. I tried to like Sable. She was supposed to be interesting. But sadly, the most interesting thing about her was her introduction in the DLC promo video — and that's that. Her bio is basically "My name is Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way and I'm Not Like Other Girls" and it feels like a wasted potential. She could have been attracted to things dark and grim because she was sensitive to the forces like Entity (similarly to Haddie and Mikaela), and that she was basically that haunted kid who coped with her visions through finding beauty in darkness and embracing it. Literally saving herself by replacing fear with curiosity and acceptance of her being different. Damn it, all three of her perks emphasize on her connection to darkness and shadows!
But instead, we have a girl who has a rather superficial interest in "darkness" and makes a good placeholder for sexy cosmetics, with BHVR is milking the latter like there is no tomorrow. It is extremely disappointing.

Sable comes off as a fan service Mary Sue.
