Dracula’s power is legit everything I’ve ever wanted in a game where you could play as a vampire

ok so I’ll start off by saying that I’m not the biggest fan of castlevania besides for playing 2 games in the past (being symphony of the night and rondo of blood which I didn’t play much of) but I’ve been a fan of vampire horror movies and classic monsters.
one of those being Dracula in those movies and as someone who’s ALOT familiar with those (I’ve seen many different iterations of Dracula like Nosferatu ‘22, dracula ‘31 , dracula ‘91 and other titles)

This killer is legit perfect for me he’s literally beyond fun! So thank you for this killer devs!

have you seen the animated series? It’s pretty good - not perfect but it’s pretty worth watching I’d say!

Its not Dracula. Its a twisted castlevania adaption. I am really disappointed that they used castlevania as a coop to introduce a vampire killer instead of creating an original killer based on the real legend of Dracula. (nothing against castlevania itself). I think this was a really poor decicion as they had the big chance to bring the first "real horror legend" into the game. Now its just another game-coop adaptation that ruins the original with this compilation of powers that doesnt fit to the original.

I'm pretty happy with the depiction of Dracula as well. It's Castlevania Dracula but it calls back a lot to Dracula's original stories and lore, much as Castlevania itself does, so it feels like a tribute to the character that extends beyond just merely Castlevania.

Literally everything Dracula does in DbD is what he does in the original novel by Bram Stoker, with the exception of the Hellfire spell.

When I first heard rumors about Dracula coming, I was hoping it would be the original, even as a Castlevania fan. However, this implementation of Dracula isn't even all that different from the novel version. (More) modern vampire stories have enforced the idea that vampires and werewolves are distinct, mortal enemies, and that sunlight instantly kills vampires. In the original Dracula novel, however, vampires and werewolves were the same thing (Dracula is a wolf in several crucial scenes) and sunlight only suppresses his powers.

Also, there's definitely still room for other vampire killers in the game. They could still do a more Nosferatu-type appearance with a more blood-focused power. And I'm not convinced that a second Vecna can't eventually come to the game. All he has to do is not be "The Lich" since that's the name the game focuses on. Another Dracula could even be as something as simple as "The Vampire" and be distinct.

The main issue in wanting alternative vampires is that they're probably at least a couple years away now if they happen.

The only problem I have with this crossover is that we finally have a vampire but they do not bite. Kinda the whole thing. But for Castlevania's Dracula it makes sense, he's too classy to bother. He had bite attacks in a few games nevertheless.
