What is this status effect?
I can’t find any info related to this status effect. What does it do to me and what should I do to get rid of it? I can never find the totem to cleanse to get rid of this?

This is the Hex-Status, you are cursed and there is a Hex-Totem active.

this is a curse and the skull means you’re exposed by this particular curse I believe

but the hex cursed icon is this in the guideline. Is it out dated or something?

Most likely killer is using Hex: Devour Hope
In fairness, the game could make it easier by having the specific perk (devour hope) icon show up to indicate what’s causing it

As others have said, that is a cursed/hex totem status effect. The specific name only pops up briefly when it first activates. But if you see that cursed symbol, start looking for a flaming totem (or listen for crackling flames). I usually find more hexes by the crackling rather than lit totems.

Pretty sure it is just the Hex-Symbol. Have seen a video where someone was cursed (Plaything) and not exposed and it had the exact same symbol like in OPs post. Killer was a Huntress, so there was not really a chance that any Exposed-Perk was in play.
Also, in general, you see that you are exposed with a different Icon, it would not really make sense to have two separate Hex-Icons. They most likely just updated it and the wikia uses the old Icon.

Its the Cursed status effect. Every Hex that has some sort of long lasting effect that is apparent to Survivors will give you this effect.
Curse it self doesnt have any impact, it just states that a hex totem is in play and you are affected by it.
