Any Bets on the next PTB

next PTB comes out in less than 3 weeks, and this is an exciting one, with 3 very hot button killers getting tweaks, oh also unknown

Skull merchant, who has received several reworks is finally getting some attention, hopefully it aims to remove the more annoying parts of her kit while still keeping her strength (For the love of god remove haste, it is unnecessary)


Hillbilly, who got one of the biggest buffs in history is likely to receive a small nerf. Despite this, hillbilly will still be stronger overheat disable.

twins who also got a massive rework, and then a massive unrework is in the hot seat again, and it’s honestly anyone’s game to what changes they are going to make!

And unknown is on the list, but it’s most likely small quality of life changes like doctor so their mains should be eating okay


Any predictions for this upcoming developer update? Anyone willing to offer insight onto what the changes are?

    So not really keeping strength, if you want to remove her main strength for looping…

    I don't care about broken and hindered, but she is trash without haste and undetectable.

    Regarding Unknown, I’m guessing/hoping it’s just gonna be some add-on changes, maybe a slight cooldown adjustment.

    the haste is from an old part of her kit, it was from her first change, it was back before she had access to basekit hindered, the haste is an outdated part of her kit that snuck in. I love playing skull merchant don’t get me wrong, but you would be lying to yourself if you said the haste wasn’t BS

    • Skull Merchant will get nerfed even tho imo she don't deserve this and she isn't even a strong killer, but she is still number 1 hated killer since her realese and people just have PTSD from her and dislike just her existing alone no metter her power, they will probably overkill her until further rework next year so people will stop quiting againts her.
    • Unknown will probably get some small buff(s)
    • Idk the rest.

    I think they are going to explode the Skull Merchant with a big rocket launcher.

    I'd hope they make her more interactive without gutting her entirely but I'm not very hopeful that they'll do that.

    Yeah SM is pretty mid and I don't think she deserves the nerfs she is about to get. I am surprised you think Unknown is gonna get buffs though. He is pretty strong as is, I suspect it might be a nerf if anything even though I think they should leave Unknown as is and neither buff or nerf

    It was also when she had an access to exposed and pallet breaking on vaults… That's way stronger than hindered btw.

    Haste is outdated, that's why I would rework it around either 1, or 2 tokens. Definetly not remove it.

    Skull Merchant's Haste and Hindered are what make her power interactive, those and the fact that Claw Traps injure you are the only necessary functions of her kit. It's not even about her strength, it's about her design and what both sides are supposed to care about doing, mechanically.

    I don't have any bets for what they're going to do to her, but my utmost hope is that these tweaks largely revolve around giving survivors information, since that's her biggest problem at the moment. Too much guesswork, too much having to go to a wiki and read the breakdown there if you want to understand anything beyond the broadest strokes of her power.

    No predictions for the others, but I agree Billy's almost certainly copping a nerf. Hopefully a fairly minor one, he's not that bad, but he is overtuned. Ideally that'd come with revisiting some of his less useful addons, for a bit of give and take.

    Personally i hope they remove the haste and undetectable from SM. If only 1 has to go then the undetectable… no reason why she has better stealth than Michael Myers or ghosty..

    Billys cooldown on miss hits while on overdrive could use a nerf… i feel like while dodging his attack he still is right back at me due to short cooldown. So these i am hoping personally :)

    this issue with skull merchant, is that she has too much

    The stealth comes from the old part of her kit, which was being the world’s most awful stealth killer. She does way too much little things that add up to be overwhelming. A good solution is to reduce the amount of things she can do, and buff what’s left to make them feel more impactful.

    I hope this is the update in which the developers buff/tweak the more than 20Perks and don't split it in this and the next chapter. I really hope this will change the meta on both sides and give us more variety. I'm also interested in the Unknown tweaks and how they look like. A map offering rework would be cool too as a surprise

    imo they should double down on haste and fix the undetectable part. her randomly going undetectable is what screws solo players so often.

    i also dont think the haste is the actual issue with her. i think not being able to remove stacks is the more annoying part.

    would be nice if they nerf undetectable / remove it and let SM maintain bonuses from stacks as long as they're on survivors and not for the first moments of them being scanned for the drawback of them being able to remove them somehow. Hacking drones maybe.

    Wouldnt that just like reverse the Twins’ buff? The problem with them before their first nerf was that basically you could slug the whole team with Victor. Lol

    Idk why anyone is excited for Skull Merchant changes. She's gotten 3 reworks and people still find things to complain about her. At the end of the day she's still going to have Drones which is ultimately what people don't like.

    Yeah, they definitely should have found a better way to implement this killer. I’m not surprised they’re nerfing twins again. It’s like with Hillbilly’s overdrive… now they’ve gotta walk back changes because they initially nerf this busted sh then give it back to killers then have to nerf it again

    I think Skull Merchant is anyone's guess at this point. Maybe they're adding more ways to counterplay, or a way to remove stacks of lock on, but I still think she's not a very interesting killer to play against. Maybe they're making bigger changes, but honestly at this point I think they're kind of done with her and just want to make the current version work somehow.

    Unknown is probably getting part of the brown teleport addon basekit, there was even a bug where it showed 25% instead of 50% on that addon. Not sure if he's getting more changes, I think he's in a good spot.

    Hillbilly will for sure get his Overcharge nerfed, and rightfully so. That actually leaves some room to make the Overcharge addons more useful too, right now the addons that reduce Overcharge dissipation and time before it begins to dissipate are totally worthless. Hopefully they don't touch his normal chainsaw too much, I think it's pretty balanced.

    Twins I have no idea. The "rework" ended up just being almost purely buffs, except for the longer cooldown if Victor gets kicked. Good changes and all, but they didn't become that much more popular, only more powerful, and they're still pretty slug heavy and not that fun to play against. I'm curious as to what they're gonna change with them.

    I'm keen to know what they're going to do with Crowd Control. It used to be 16 seconds, then 25 seconds and then they giga buffed it to 60 seconds. And no one uses it still.

    My guess would be that windows stay blocked until the Totem is cleansed, which would actually be kinda dope.. but the Perk is underrated already.
