I think |I feel bad.......for survivors!?!?

My initial thoughts are that the plague is seemingly really obviously overpowered I'm kinda shocked she made it through ptb tbh and I almost exclusively play killer so I'm shocking myself by admitting it. She's fast, she can attack short and long range, she can slow the game down with infection, she can inflict broken status way too quickly and its just a base ability (which is nuts), she can attack through windows and over pallets, boxes and walls, she's super tall and she can easily upgrade her ability in a few seconds to do damage :O

I never thought i'd be making a case for a killer nerf and I'm perfectly happy to give her a more extensive play first (we don't want a Freddy catastrophe again) but earlier I got a what must have been a 6 meter corrupted vomit hit over the top of boxes and through a window with little effort and..... I felt pretty gross about it. If I can be a douche for a second and dare suggest a few changes I'd say her vomit needs at least a 5 second cooldown (which can be shortened with addons) I'm not sure her corrupt vomit should be able to down survivors maybe just give the broken status on hit (add the ability to down with an ultra rare addon similar to iridescent addons), her regular vomit shouldn't cause broken or at least not as fast as it does or just have it work like a deep wound timer where she has to leave the chase for you to become more infected and her range is pretty nutty too. But like I said I'll keep trying both sides and I'm happy to give her a chance but holy hell rip survivors.

Ok well I hope your right maybe when I get back up to the top ranks she will be less powerful but at rank 11-8 I've been wrecking peoples days lol 4 kills galore but like I said lets see what happens over time

It looks like there are suddenly a lot more potato survivors around. Played a number of survivor games, and what some of them do... it's beyond cringy.

    Maybe just bad luck though.

She's nowhere near OP, Especially since the only way she was being played well got nerfed on her release. She slows down a huge amount when charging and then goes Huntress speed (110%) when holding. If you know how to loop, You'll have no problem with her at all.

    ApacheLand Member Posts: 35

But she can vomit over the top of boxes, cars, walls, pallets basically anything so I can't see how you could loop her. I've versed legacy survivors with her, they have thousands of hours in game and they started looping then I'd just puke over the cars or whatever and they'd become broken and run off and the kills were easy. I think she's by far the easiest killer to get downs and hooks with I've ever played in over 2 thousand hours but it could all be just day one adjustments. Like I said I'm not back to rank 1 yet so maybe everything will change at the top.

@ApacheLand she is still new players on both sides need adjust and settle in.

Yeah I've watched a few streams of ppl at the top ranks and she seems to be a bit more balanced there but wow good luck to new survivors climbing the ranks with the plague around lol

That's always been the way though, new survivors struggle more which is why you see threads claiming killers are op that are nowhere near it.

It also nearly always happens that once a new killer is released survivors say they are op while killers say they are weak until people have learned to play/counterplay.

Give it a few weeks, let people figure her out first. It's been less than 12 hours in live game.

Yeah, go on, she's OP just like Freddy, go get her, dirty boy!

    ApacheLand Member Posts: 35

Yeah I've been playing DBD since day 1 and been there as all the new killers were released and most of my time is spent on killers which is why I've surprised myself by saying she's op lol but just from the 15 or so games so far I can't see how the survivors can escape her vomit in a lot of situations. She can just shake side to side and cover basically everything in front of her for 7 meters or so and especially with the corrupted vomit it's gonna be hard to counter that. I guess the survivors can insta heal with the fountains but so far I'm finding it unsatisfying easy to get downs and hooks. I don't feel like I have to work for it at all

Since writing the initial post I've got chance to play as the plague a bunch and also against her a bunch of times and I've only become more convinced that shes insanely overpowered. And overpowered to the point where I would rather play against all 4 members of legion at the same time than one more match against plague. I don't even think it's controversial at this point to say she makes all the other killers seem like childs play in comparison, at least with nurse shes slow and you can anticipate her blinks to dodge her. With plague she runs like a trapper and has the ranged attack of a huntress with the vomit coverage of a doctors shock and oh yeah as a side note she can inflict BROKEN within one puke which has almost no cooldown?!?! on any other killer this would be an ultra rare iridescent addon but its just a basic ######### bonus for plague.

Her range is too far, her speed is too fast (especially while charging her puke), the infection progression is too fast and doesn't stall like a deep wound during chase, her puke has almost no cooldown and the broken status thing is a joke. My time as a survivor is done for now. I've had a bunch of matches playing as her where I was perfectly nice, I didnt camp or tunnel and the survivors where just teabagging hooks just trying to end the misery so yeah get the nerf guns at the ready

I was playing her yesterday and I got looped so hard maybe for like a 1-2 minutes So I couldn't land a hit on the guy with the blooded vomit because he was running along walls and it wouldn't register as a hit eventhough it was right at him .. and her movement speed while vomitting is slower .

But I managed to hook him with 2 others but he cost me dearly the 4th guy escaped.

So I feel like putting a cool down on her is going to make her weak .

I also Noticed that in the PTB when you interact with Infected Survivors like unhooking , healing an infected Dying teammate you don't get sick but now you do in the live version .

I also wouldn't change anything about the fountains. I like her current state

She's fun but weak. Not even viable at rank 1 with competent survivors. Mid tier at best. She needs needs the heal on the fountains removed.

sheโ€™s absolute garbage and is in a pathetic state right now lol

  • ApacheLand
    ApacheLand Member Posts: 35

As a killer main I feel almost treasonous demanding a killer nerf lol but having played a bunch of games against even barely competent plagues she wrecked everyone with ease and I'm in the high ranks now for both survivor and killer but the most important part is the games against her weren't fun at all, I was so excited to face her and learn her evil ways but she is just an unstoppable tank. Sure you can loop her for a bit but you can loop other killers and escape the chase but with her once she sets her funky eyes on you your gonna get sick and 4 seconds later your broken and she one shots you. I'm not claiming to know how to make her more balanced and fun but removing the broken passive effect she has would go a long way.

As for the removing fountain heals.....what!?....you cray? thts like the only saving grace as a survivor. I guarantee when the devs check the escape stats from plague in a few weeks she'll be way above average and they'll nerf her I guarantee it.

Her power is completely dictated by the survivors. Just don't cleanse and you cuck her power. Only cleanse when you're on your way out.

Vile Purge is actually so bad that it puts Plague in bottom tier. Corrupt Purge kinda makes up for it, but I'd much rather play Huntress if I was gonna go through all that trouble for a flamethrower version of her hatchets.

She isn't op but somewhere in the mid tier. The next weeks will show where exactly in the mid tier she is, after people have learned to play as and against her.

She is not bad or overpowered. Requires specific aproach from both sides to either be countered or very effective. Her power slows her down and is dodgeable, but very effective when used correctly. I find her fun to play as or against. Just wait for slugging nurses with her perk tho xD. Its going to be shitshow

Every killer will feel overpowered when played by someone who menages time efficiently and when survivors just refuse to do gens. Even Freddy is quite good when played smart.

Just keep killing. That pity and empathy you feel now for survivors will wear off

Killers: Plague is low tier. She needs buffs.

Survivors: Plague is OP. She needs nerfs.

I'm guessing the truth is somewhere inbetween?

TBH - We need to wait atleast a week or 2 now that she's on live to see if the's UP, OP or Balanced.

(survivors need to learn how to play against a Plag)

The Plague shits on solo queue players because most of them cleanse. Even if you know what you are doing in solo queue you have no control over the other Survivors actions.

On the opposite side of the spectrum she gets destroyed by SWF that know what they're doing and don't cleanse.

    Seems good.

That and people need to unlock and experiement with perks.

For the most part you just react to her like you woukd a huntress when she has corrupt purge. Avoid clear shots. Don't drop pallets knowing shes going to throw a hatchet etc, or in this case fire a purge.

Just loop her when shes using vile purge. I've seen survivors panic though when broken and they don't play as well as they could.

playing against the plague, she isn't lol, im just against skilled players. i believe that skill is the player, not the character.

you don't get hindered at all when you're fully sick (which im thankful for, i don't want another clown). being thrown up on isn't immediate danger unless she had the corrupted purge. i looped her around a wall for like a good 15 seconds before i broke it off because i felt bad for her.

    she aint overpowered lmao.

*psa* this is coming from a survivor main at rank 11 (i would be higher if it wasn't for the rank system, i got a depip for points i would normally get a pip at)

    ApacheLand Member Posts: 35

Haha RSB thats a great pic lol

A bunch of people keep saying you can just loop her for ages but looping is obnoxious I don't like doing it as survivor and I definitely don't like being looped over and over as killer so if she promotes that play style that aint a good thing imo. Time will tell when the results come in but so far I enjoy playing against her the least even less than legion and hard as it is to say....Freddy :/ I'm by no means a survivor pro so I'm sure better survivors will dodge her but for the first 15 or so ranks from 20 to 5 she's gonna dominate I think.

No killer promotes looping, survivors do and they have shown that. (Not saying anything bad about looping)

How about we let people get used to her first instead of killing her on release like we did with Freddy huh?

Nice write up! Thanks for this, it was well written and insightful while using examples to further good discussion.

We need more posts like this, doesn't matter the view, instead of what "plagues" the community atm.

broken range, so easy to hit with vomit, requires no skill, she isn't like huntress that requires skill to throw the hatchet, i hit survivor almost blind
