Why you can't use unhook perks as last survivor?!
I love dying when all my teammates escape right next to open exit gate when I can just unhook myself with Deliverence but noooo, you must now auto die on hook because nobody left in match.
Perks that allow you to self unhook should not auto kill you. It's just unfair, makes these perks worse than they should be.

"But that's because you allready lost you see it would just waste time.." no man when exit gates are open and are close you can still use and have good chance of escaping and using your perks… ahhh so annoying.

if I can recall you used to be able to years ago but they changed it to the last survivor just auto dying

That's a soloQ issue, once again. If you could show your perks to your teammates, you could show deliverance and maybe at least one player would stay so you could self unhook. But you can't, so you get shafted. It's a shame.

I think the change away from the last person still going normally through all the hook states has less to do with a "the match is over anyways" thing but more a timeloss thing.
At least from my memory when this was still a thing a lot of survivors wouldnt even try to unhook themselves (mostly out of spite I would presume) but rather just slowly die on hook and make the killer wait for 2 minutes with nothing to do.
Its the same complaint that people have when they slowly bleed out instead of getting hooked and why so many people here demand an unbreakable basekit.

I think it’s because, just like old DS, it puts the Killer in a lose/lose situation. There’s nothing they can do to counter it. You unhook, they hit you and proc BT and you get the speed boost and you’re out. If you’re close enough to the gate, the speed boost wouldn’t even matter.
Not arguing whether this is good or bad perk design, I’m just stating why I think the devs have designed it this way.

I think it's an unspoken rule to not leave the match if your teammate is in the process of being hooked and it's their first time. So this is more of a solo q issue than game design
this game drags out in many different areas and I personally would not want to go through the motion of the first hook stage when it's just me left. I'm unlikely to kobe and just want to go next quickly. Maybe I'm near gates, maybe I'm not, if I'm not then it's even less likely I escape as you typically need some body blocking to make gates when you're 1 v 1 killer during EG. I prefer the match isn't extended

It got added, because 99% of the time being able to unhook as the last survivor on hook didn't change the outcome and only wasted time since a salty survivor could also just force a killer to wait a full 2 minutes as well.

and in this scenario, what is the killer meant to do? You already have a guaranteed 44m to safely travel, not even mentioning pallets or vaults. If you could use deliverance as last survivor while the gates were open, then there'd be nothing the killer could do.

Yee
My understanding is that they changed it because many survivors would just hang there and not do anything. Basically just wasting everyone's time sitting there instead of of trying to Kobe and letting the game end.
It does kind of suck for the rare situations where someone has Deliverance and could auto-Kobe but BHVR chose the QoL change of not wasting our time over the 1/1000 chance of Deliverance being in play

Because it's just an unnecessary prolonging of the game. In your situation yeah, it would come in handy. But in most games the killer has nothing else to do but wait for you to die. If you can unhook then they'll likely down you 10 seconds later. It's just not necessary.

All because killers complained about having to wait for a survivor to die. It's especially annoying if you get downed by BS insta-downs/NOED Right as the gates opened and everyone but you leaves because you got unlucky. Then the killer who failed to do their job gets a guaranteed kill.
