What's with the new matchmaking?

Maybe I was a lucky one, but before the change I could find lobbies quite fast and ranks were well balanced overall.

Now as a killer I am forced to wait 5 minutes for a match (5-10 times longer than before, personally a huge bummer since matches are short) and as survivor, although wait times are about the same, I keep getting matched with rank 20 killers with 2h of playtime, while I'm at 12-13 and am struggling to rank up because there's not much altruism to do, be it because killers can't catch anyone or they just hard camp because they don't know better. The only thing would be doing gens and prolonging chases but then I'd feel like I'm bullying them. For some reasons these rank shenaningas don't happen as killer, in that case I find balanced ranks.


A bit offtopic, but is it me or killers nowadays always leave asap after the match ends? Even after good games you can't have a friendly chat anymore.

    a friend of mine and myself have been waiting for over 30 mins for a match now at this point. we got into 2 different possible matches and then waited another 5 minutes for us to have the killer leave because a 4th person wouldnt join. this is getting ridiculous. especially since this has been going on for the past 3 days for me.
