Hey guys, I know the studio needs money to keep the game and their other projects running. Designers, composers, 3D-modelers, programmers and other people who work on the game certainly deserve a generous remuneration for their work, that's a fact.
But...
Recently DLC's for Dead By Daylight have become more expensive than the original game itself. Is that normal? I don't think so. If you say it's for in-game balance so that everyone doesn't have awesome killers, then that idea sucks.
Just look at those prices, the games from the original series are even a little cheaper than the DLC's for Dead By Daylight. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think it should be like that...

This has pretty much always been DBDs business model, you get the game cheap but then DLC costs quite a bit. But what I've noticed is that DLC hasn't been getting as big of a discount as before, only dipping to 30% off instead of 50% like it used to. Plus the licensed chapters that got adjusted up in price.
But I've seen plenty of older games and DLC on Steam getting their price increased in recent years too so, probably to adjust for inflation, so it's not unique to DBD. It's unfortunate that older items are getting more expensive but oh well.
At least original chapters have never been easier to grind with iri shards, that's a great improvement from how it was a few years ago with every character at 9k shards and practically never any sales on characters for shards.

Yeah, that's true, too. Prices used to be a bit lower and there were often 50% discounts, now there are only 25-30% discounts at most.
I live in a rather poor country called Kazakhstan, and if I used to be able to afford to buy some killers at 50% discounts, now I probably won't be able to afford it anymore.
I realize that this is purely my personal problems, and no one forces me to buy DLC's... but still.0 -
Yeah, getting all the licensed chapters has always been a pretty big cost, worse now. Personally there's several licensed chapters I haven't got since I don't think they're worth the money.
Is it a better deal for you to get the specific characters you need with Auric Cells ingame instead perhaps?

I've already managed to buy at the old prices and 50% discounts some killers, only 3-4 killers left to buy to build a complete collection, but thanks for the advice!
But anyway I would like the developers to pay attention to this.0 -
normally in America the DLC costs around 5-12 dollars. And if it’s in Philippines currency (I googled and that’s what I found) that is 66 US dollars. That is over 5x the amount.

Can't really comment on the relative prices vs. other games in your country...
Just to help, for both DLCs (which contains a killer and 2 survivors) at 3705,00T is about £5.70. In the UK and western world this is not much than the cost of a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
The same listing is £9.99 in the UK (2 cups of coffee).
Exchamge rates don't tell the picture accurately, it would help us understand better to have a frame of reference for how much 3705,00T is?

They're relatively cheap but that's subjective to one's circumstances.
Bhvr does have to shell out money up front and likely periodically for licensed content. It's an investment on their end to generate revenue/profit (worst case, offset their cost), draw in players and enhance their brand. DBD is the asymmetrical horror game and not one of them. So, of course licensed content will come at a higher cost than their original stuff, as it should.
They seem to do a good job at keeping their licensed stuff within a reasonable range when in reality their contracts dictate what they owe the licensor. They can pass on any higher costs to us or figure out ways to mitigate the differences (think Stranger things vs something like Castlevania - I'd imagine ST is more costly because it has more recognition and appeal).
All in all, games are luxuries and not necessities. We don't need to buy them or any DLCs, we can if we want to assuming we can afford them.

3 700 T is somewhere around 8 bucks. Is that a lot?
Now check out these prices from a different new game:
Just a reminder: 3k caliber = 1 character + 1 skin.
1150 caliber = 1 skin.
The only pack that you can buy for a character and skin is 3920 caliber = 69$.
Be thankful to Behavior for their generosity… All I can say.

Guys, I realize $5-$10 isn't much to you. But you should also realize that not everyone lives in England, the USA or even in Europe.
I am not saying that prices should be completely and everywhere reduced, but they should be at least slightly adjusted by region. For example, for the USA 5-10$ is a trifle, but for a country like India it is quite a lot of money. That's what I'm getting at.
Also pay attention to this:

Absolutely, no worries friend! Can assure sure no one here is talking down to you, and apologies if it came across that way!
I can reasonably safely say we are genuinely interested and want to understand, but unfortunately a lot of us do live in the west and are a little ignorant of the issue. 😅
None of us know the standard cost of games in your region and what is normal practice... so we're not asking out of contempt or anything, but it would help us (and likely the deva as well) understand with a little extra context of what is typical your way 😁

It's okay, yeah, I totally understand. It's just that to understand the context of local prices you need to have lived, I think, at least a couple months somewhere like that.
You know, 10$ in the US or Europe and in India, for example, are not the same thing, they are completely different amounts. For one side it's just a trifle, and for the other side it's a good amount of money.
