No DC Penalty after a certain amount of time.
Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and hope we can have a good time.
My question is directed against the hostage situations of games and the server shutdown after 1 hour.
Why isn´t it possible to leave the match after an certrain amount of time maybe 15 minutes.
To be honest games which are over 10 minutes are kinda rare and if all players have fun the game can go on but after 15 minutes players should be free to leave so they can´t be hold hostage.
Sorry for my horrible english…

I don't think it's a good idea to ever not penalize dc's considering the amount of people that DC on first down or for all sorts of things even with the penalty is crazy. I feel like the amount of games that are held hostage are far too less to warrant no DC penalty. Now they could make the sever end after 30 minutes and give everyone how ever many blood points they've earned since all windconditions are subjective outside of everyone escaping and everyone being killed.

It would be kinda unlikly that someone got his first down after 15 minutes wouldn´t it?
I don´t want to eradicate the DC penalty. I asked if it would be okay to remove it after 15 minutes into a match.

Welcome to the forums.
It is a bit hard to determine exactly how long a match in Dead By Daylight can take without it being considered hostage. Some killers in general have longer games because that's the way their power works.
If 4 out of 5 people have fun with such a long match, then it would be very unfortunate, if the 5th player decided to disconnect regardless. As long as the 4 players follow the rules that is.
15 minutes might be a little early for removing dc penalties. Maybe after 30 minutes. That would make sure, it could only be used when these "hostage" situations (I'm putting in quotes because people have different opinions on what that actually means) actually occur.
Your English was really not so horrible. Many of us speak English as a second language so there is no reason to apologise for difficulties with the language. If you want people to be notified of your responses, you should use the "Quote" option under the post that you are responding to.
Good luck and see you in the fog.

I think 15 minutes is way too close to a reasonable game time. MAYBE 30 minutes should be fine. But indifferent on this one, I dont think a match should go on for 30 minutes, so I guess it would be fine to allow DCs at this point.

I don't see a reason any trail should go past 40 minutes ever, and 30 is too long as well. The server closes after an hour currently, but imo it could be set to 30 minutes no problem.

Honestly, a match shouldn’t ever go longer than 25 minutes. It starts to get boring after 10 and 15 feels like a slog. They really should just reduce the maximum match time to 25, 30 max.

I'd agree with 30 minutes. There's definitely some form of hostage holding going on if you reach 30 minutes.

That's pointless.
Game taken hostage the way you describe are rare to the extreme.
A simple DC is only one minute penalty.
Just take the hit and move on.

It's rare but it happens.
A few weeks ago I was battling a group in RPD that I had all the pain to hook.
They've managed to take four gens in a bit more than ten minutes. The went down countless times but had only been hooked about four or five times.
At that point it was a three gens and I didn't want to give them an inch more.
We've gone back-and-forth for ten or fifteen minutes more until I managed to four-slug them, the only solution to bypass the trouble they were giving me.
That was my longest match this year.
After so much effort, I would have been very disappointed if the match didn't end with any side's victory.
Before that, a year or two ago, I had an even longer match: a bad one.
It was against trolls who hid during 45 minutes, using "Pebble" regularly.
I was too stubborn to DC, especially because I was recording and I reported them for taking the game hostage.
The detail are fuzzy but I believe I managed to get some of them after a while. (I suspect the 45 minute mark was because I had killed 3 and the last one got hatch or the doors.) It was before the anti face-camp mechanic.
