A power role? It's turning more into giving killers everything they want and nerfing a few swf survivors while basically making the casual survivor and solo hate the game. I'm gonna keep preaching.... Even with a blood bonus, it's still taking a while to get 4 survivors to find a match. That's just sad. People are talking about burn out …well duh... Nobody like losing game after game and only getting one or two gens done time and time again. Get better right? Well you need 4 to get better and most of us don't have a SWF team.... So like I said... Survivor role is boring, keeps getting nerfed and soon nobody is gonna want to play it. I follow the bonus... And sadly killer is rarely available. If no blood bonus, I always go killer…even when I lose it's 100 times more fun.

Who would want to play survivor when for the first time in dbd history you can play killer with a friend?

I'm one of those scouts who camped Thompson House and let me tell ya, Huntresses hated me lol they were perma revealed.

GOOD! Maybe killer queues won't be 10+ minutes this time around. Anyone too worried about playing killer because this mode is "ultra survivor sided" is more than welcome to sit it out.

The ironic thing is that I think it was survivor sided last time too. However why were the queues so long if it was survivor sided? Three major reasons.

    1. You could play with your friends on killer.
Many SWF or now KWF are not 4 mans, they are 2 or 3 mans. However now teams of 2 can play on killer. This naturally makes more people gravitate over to killer.
    2. Survivor doesn't really get a new experience.
The game is largely the same for them. Whether its 7 team mates or 3 the game is largely the same and if anything is lesser because perks are cut off and the substitute isn't interesting. Compared to killer and all the things you can do with a team mate.
    3. Playing survivor is kinda boring.
The game at it's core (whether 2vs8 or not) has a problem with a lack of engaging gameplay on survivor. The older version of 2v8 is a core example of this. There's very little survivors could do aside from do gens, heal or save. Chases are where the game is at it's best but because of 2v1 situations chases are usually extremely short and the survivor feels put in a lose/lose situation where they had no winning moves. Even if that is balanced because 7 players are left unchecked that does not make it fun. Even if you lose on killer you can still get some good gameplay in, not so on survivor and in some cases not so even if you win.

Some of this is 'helped' by saves being restored but the problem with saves is that they are part of the toxic arms race. That is slugging is done to prevent saves, saves are done because survivors want another form of interactive gameplay and then everything that comes in response to this which is an endless toxic cycle from both sides.

I've always said 2vs8 is a bad idea and a case of 'careful what you wish for' and people wouldn't like it once the novelty wore off and I've seen little to convince me otherwise. 2v8 exposes DBD for how shallow the survivor experience is at its core. It significantly lessens one of the best parts of the game and what it gets in exchange isn't worth it.

So what happens when we get it? Surprise! Far fewer people want to play survivor, even if the mode overall favors them.
