I feel like I’m physically incapable of doing these challenges
it’s either I get tunneled and never have the opportunity to get a smoke bomb or the kill never chases me sigh

You can just wait to someone go down and run infront of the killer while they carrying. You will enter chase, drop the smoke bomb, and safely run off.

Alternatively divebomb into a teammate's chase and see if you can throw the killer off of both of you with a smoke bomb. It helps if your teammate is injured because they'll be more of a priority for the killer and therefore the killer is less likely to chase you.

For the escape a chance after dropping a smoke bomb, I would suggest running Distortion, Bond and Open-Handed. (Distortion so that you don't get found first)
When you see a teammate about to go down, get near by. Once the Killer picks them up get in his line of sight so the chase music starts. Drop your smoke bomb and run, you'll escape the chase because the Killer is distracted trying to hook someone.

Use quick and quiet and jump into a locker after dropping it, sure you might get found but remember its just a few seconds of enough confusion to complete the challenge.

That could definitely work too. The crystal extremely powerful and versatile.
I personally use it as a way to blur the killer vision on the way to a hook before sabotaging. Make it harder for them to option select another hook.

I did the challenge by chasing near a Void entrance and after throwing a smoke bomb entering the void. The chase auto escapes once you enter the void even if Killer follows you

IF you go in or out of the void you instantly escape the chase, so, go inside the void, wait the killer, start chase, drop bomb, and then teleport back
It worked for me

That's sad, challenges are the only reason I still play (occasionally.) Games are just so horrible (solo q) that at least "most" challenges are something that I actually have control over and can work towards.

When the match starts, stand still until you see the nearest unblocked generator with Still Sight, and start working on it. Distortion prevents your aura from being read by Lethal Pursuer and makes it a bit more likely you won't be first chase. Do enough of the generator to fill your event bar, then run around and look for an open or closed portal and go to the void. Get the void smoke bomb and find the killer using Empathy or the heartbeat. Take note of where the nearest open portal is. Let the killer hit you to start chase, then drop the smoke bomb, and run to the portal and use it to instantly end the chase.
This is the best strategy for you if you're having trouble with this challenge, other than playing in a SWF.

You can just get the killer to chase you out the exit gate. Its how I got it

In general, I do all my "Escape a chase"-Challenges like this. It is super simple to do and you would not even have to waste any time or be that inefficient to do that, since it happens all the time that a Survivor will go down next to you or close enough that you can get into a chase with the Killer while they are carrying a Survivor.
