Be Kind to Each Other ❤️

Hi DBD Community,

Not sure if this post will make it through, but I feel heartbroken and just need to share. Early this morning, I got a call from my mother overseas with some devastating news—one of our family members, my cousin, passed away after battling cancer in silence for the past ten months. She kept it to herself, and I can hardly put into words how much that hurts.

For those who don't know me well, I’ve been streaming to raise funds for cancer support because this fight is deeply personal—I was diagnosed with cancer back in 2019. As I near my five-year mark, the word cancer hits me hard every time. And I know we’ve all seen members of this amazing DBD community impacted by it too.

In games like DBD, I see people getting discouraged by others’ comments or feeling like they don’t measure up. But here’s the truth: none of that matters in the end. We all come here to enjoy the game, to find moments of fun and connection. I’m someone who likes to do random, silly things—spinning, nodding head, cheering on others. I do it to spread some joy because none of us know what others are truly facing behind the screen.

I want to keep raising funds for people fighting this horrible illness and invite anyone willing to join me. Let’s make a difference together, however small it may feel. Please, let’s lift each other up, both in the game and out. You’re all part of something bigger here. Take care, stay kind, and look out for each other.❤️

good words, but… you must be really optimistic if you think that the dbd playerbase could be touched by your essay generally speaking (mind you, it's a good thread, but not everyone have the maturity to discuss about those things)… it's sufficient to see the endchat after a match to get what i mean. Anyway, i wish you good luck for your campaign aganist cancer.

My bad about that. But regardless, it is horrible, no matter which kind of illness that will slowly end someone's life like that.
Sorry to hear about your father, though it is interesting to hear how fast it must have spread, considering that it took just over a month.
I really hope that cancer will be gone in the future, so that no more people have to suffer through it.
I know enough people who has battled cancer.

Well, it probably didn't spread that fast. It was just detected far too late. Which is somewhat ironic, since he was a doctor himself, but sometimes it just goes like that I guess.

Either way, I agree. Let's hope for the best.

I'm really sorry to hear that, truly, but I thank you for sharing. My mom is currently having a second battle with uterine cancer right now. We've both had the talk about the high risk she currently faces, and the reality that we have to face if she loses. It's hard, and it really makes moments seem inifitely shorter when each day passes by so rapidly

Unfortunately the internet allowed people to freely be disrespectful, the amount of death threats people make, the amount of people who call other people "idiots, imbeciles" (to not say other words) for simply making some mistakes in a video game... the best we can do is acting positive, because we don't know if the people in the other side of the screen actually needs help

DBD players are people. Just people. And all people know pain. It's not optimism it's basic human connection.

Exactly. It's important to remember that many people are dealing with serious health struggles. Losing a game is minor in comparison—what truly matters is showing respect and compassion for those fighting for their lives.

I’m so sorry you have to go through that. I wish you and your family the best.

This is a very sweet and thoughtful thread. I’ll make sure to goof around more often and spread your positivity ❤️

If you don’t mind sharing it, what’s your stream? I’d love to check it out.

Cancer sucks… i know because i was diagnosed with cancer as well last march. I battled through the chemo, radiation and all the other treatments that came with it and i won… Last august i got clean papers from MRI nothing was found anymore. This doesn't mean im 100% ok. I am in high risk for a year and another MRI is coming this december… i hope it will come clean as well.

This is why i don't like when people use the word " cancer " as an insult.. you never know whos actually going through it or lost someone to it.

I hope you feel better soon and i love that you are trying to help by raising funds to kill this horrible disease that takes so many way too early. 💜
