I’ve been having an amazing time.

@solarjin1 Is savage! We won all of our Survivor and Killer games!!! Idk what came over us, it was like a demonic possession or something 😅

Let’s just say… That the stages were painted red with blood 🩸🩸🩸

Also remember unless killers are doing amazing gens will always be debuffed as it takes 2 hooks to even out the gen debuff. Gen done -5% repair, hook +2.5% repair.

I actually tried it little bit today as survivor...it was really lopsided matches. Majority of them were lost but that bc they was always against high movement killers like blight (so many blights) I even had match where I looped a deathslinger for so long but we still lost bc while I was looping the deathslinger the other 7 survivors was dropping like flys to the blight.

Overall I still not a fan of 2v8 both as killer and survivor. Survivor I just find it boring for the most part and little frustrating. As killer I hate the long wait for matches and having to play/depend on a random teammate. Plus none of the killers interest me. Out of all the killers I only really play wraith.

Killers are rarely going to give survs a gen debuff unless they're afk, actively tunneling, or survs stack to pop 1-2 gens really quick which is good for them anyways since snowballing is harder with basekit ub/medic class. You also have to take into account that multiple gens can be close to completion by the time the 1st will pop making buffs/debuffs hard to measure.

To all the killers crying on various forums:

Survivor is not fun, at all. Same problems as normal games. People intentionally trolling, dropping pallets when no one is around, intentionally failing skill checks (like every time I'm with that person on a gen or heal, they fail). Points mainly come from altruism, actually doing objectives is mediocre points, chases don't last long against the average killer thanks to their buffs or the second killer, and no points for survival if you don't get out. So most of us are just playing to unhook and heal each other and then maybe escape second. Any point modifier below 250% is not worth playing, and I wouldn't even be doing 250% if I didnt need to prestige characters.

Every killer has a viagra-fueled hardon, and I suspect it's because you WILLING subject yourself to the queue times. I've met one decent killer who saw a Jill intentional grief me by showing him I was in a locker at our gen, so he just slugged me and let me recover, TWICE! I got lucky enough to hatch that match thanks to him.

Yes, you may see gens go quickly in some of your games, but my sample size is probably much bigger than yours due to my amount of free time, and that is not the norm. If both killers are average, its probably a killer win. Even one mediocre killer generally doesn't tank the team. The only decisive wins I've seen have been two bad killers who probably aren't coordinating, didn't pay attention to the info they got (2 survivors on a gen and you get an aura, how can you miss that?) or use killers theyre not good with (nurse and blight, looking at you guys), and even then they still get +25k points. Also, any action or specialization that reveals survivors is so strong. The number of times I've been absolutely screwed by the revealed status when trying to hide while cornered is astronomical.

And I write all this knowing full well I'm only an average survivor, maybe a little above average. I cannot chase long because I have not and will never be able to learn all these maps, so when even I can juke and loop a killer multiple times, then I know that killer has a skill issue, no offense. But even in this game mode, those killers still have a heavy advantage.

It's okay but still not interesting enough for my taste. It's also maybe too easy as Survivor, especially if you are coordinated. I really feel like Survivors got the better stuff and after a while I lose interest in my tenth win in a row.

The Killer side feels bad if you're anyone who isn't speedy. I feel like in this iteration only SOME combos are viable. Unfortunately, I am wholly uninterested in all the Killers that feel the most viable. I don't think I have had a single match as Killer (as Wraith) where I didn't just end up waiting 20 minutes to have all the gens pop and get an 8 man out. Admittedly I played two rounds at a more sweaty time, so maybe it's just me or the game, but so far? I'm having less fun this time as Killer. As in, I genuinely do not want to play any Killer in this mode, why wait in a 20 minute Queue to get slapped around and teabagged in the endgate after 8 minutes? The BP bonus isn't THAT good, Killers don't even GET one.

    This. This is the problem.

Killers need a stronger comeback mechanic than this, it needs to be a bigger debuff or there has to be a gen control power aded to the Classes. It's extremely unfun to wait for 20 minutes to get destroyed because the gens fly super fast even with the debuffs, it's just not enough time and Killers are PLAYING like it. You HAVE to be a fast Killer and ideally, not M1 or you get destroyed. Guide has GOT to be nerfed, badly, this is way too much. Or, we need a Killer class that holds gens. Killers are genuinely not fast enough to get anything done with things like this and it's not any fun.

This? This is why it can't be a 50/50 even split, for anyone wondering, on kill versus survival rate - because as shown here, it's not fair to Killers period against Survivors who even remotely know how to coordinate. BHVR has GOT to stop giving Survivors gen repair that outclasses anything Killers can DO - both in 1v4 and 2v8. I really do not understand their obsession with letting Survivors be able to pump gens however fast they want but Killers aren't allowed to hold them down just because a FEW Killers could hold obnoxious 3gens at one point in time a year ago.

BHVR, this iteration of 2v8 sucks. You overbuffed Survivors too much. Go back to the drawing board, it was too early to do this again and this is not it, the first version was more fun.

I just realized something as well. I thought survivors just always had their 3rd skill, but since it's unlocked after first stage by not tunneling you're empowering the survs meanwhile if you do tunnel they don't really get much value over a match.

This is exactly what I am seeing, Killers tunnelling out a few people. My friends and I both got it more often, it's not good. They really messed up this event by making Survivors get more powerful over a match and making them generally stronger overall. Survivors are overbuffed. And there's nothing to fix the gen speeds; it's really unfun to wait 20 minutes to get stomped.

I will try one more day, but I'm not having fun as Killer and I'm not having the greatest time as Surv either. If it doesn't improve I'm doing the tome and then saying goodbye to this mode.

Tbh the mode is very fun its cool they added new killers, cant wait for my main to get in there
But solo q is kinda horrible since theres no comms and everyone is just running opening chests and going down not doing any gens what makes it easier for the killers to get us all

it seems to rely on killer (and survivor) skill. When they’re equally skilled there is parity and matches go back and forth until the end, when it’s anyone’s game. If survivors play around they will lose—against all killers. If killers don’t have good pressure they’re going to lose.

I just wonder how legion and oni was not brought this time. Lot more fun killers than those we got and also more original. In my opinion probably blight, spirit and buffed billy should been last to be added. First oni, myers, ghostface, legion, doctor, demo, and hag at least.

It's been good so far. People know what they're doing, allowing us to easily overpower the killers and get 7-8 man escapes in most matches. I expect this will change though. Good survivors will get bored and stop queuing, and good killers will start to queue up when the wait time gets shorter. That's when the tables will turn.

Except a whole class that has it as an ability, and finding medkits in chests if you're that desperate to heal.

2v8 is so easy compared to 1v4 for survivor

I have played over 30 matches so far and have escaped 21 times. No match has been a complete squash for the killer side. A few matches the gens got done in five minutes

Scout is definitely my favorite class as a stealth-altruist Survivor, I like it. :) I do however think rebuilding pallets is kinda useless. Fun, but useless. It should be a different power. I would like to see it as a perk, but I think if it becomes a perk it needs to have some caveats - God pallets being rebuilt would be unbearable for M1s, so how about making the rebuilt pallets be fragile ones and they can only be rebuilt once?

On another note, I like the semi-basekit mild WoO, and I think THIS should be what WoO is - limited info about pallets, vaults, and breakable doors that you use to plan an escape BEFORE you chase, so you aren't a) learning bad looping habits just running to yellow, b) leading the most boring and brainless chase ever, c) wasting resources your better teammates could use more effetcively.

  • Langweilg
    Langweilg Member Posts: 1,477

Well, I meant survivor. Killer is easier for me. There I got, when I played a killer I’m good with, always 4-8k. On survivor I’m instantly dead, when I’m found and don’t play escapist. But to be fair I have learned, that when you loose once, you get bad teammates, which makes you loose even more. After I lost like 20 matches in a row yesterday and then won 3, I escape a lot easier.

    Its terrible.

    1. its boring and the game has less tention than og mode
    2. you often queue with dude who was bored with waiting and AFKed and forgot to atltab back because the wait time is so huge.

I try to break up the teams that move from generator to generator. Also, pay attention to the people who hide near the generators when the group scatters.

    • A few games as a survivor in this mode are fun, but will never replace my preference for "normal dbd". if there weren't these strong incentives in BP, I think I would play as a survivor only at 1VS4. I really don't like chases with 2 killers at the same time (absolutely legit and all killers should always do)...you can be the best looper in the world, but when two killers are chasing you you can't literally do anything, it's just frustrating. in general survivor gameplay is impoverished in this mode… yes, Devs have introduced some pleasant innovations, but it still remains a normal/mediocre game without any real innovations (unlike the killer side where the game really changes completely).

I get the impression, that you had a lot of bad luck with your matches. Have not seen killers DC despite most of them struggling with gen and healing speeds.

Did you actually encounter multiple killer 2mans that dc'd? As far as I know, both have to, do it, otherwise a bot should be deployed. How do you know their intentions?

This mode was created to satisfy survivors, I don’t know what they were thinking when they created those perks, unlimited pallets, heals in 1 second, unlimited unbreakable etc.

Killers are not queueing because is a dumbed version of the game, limiting every single strat, perk and option a killer has. It’s a dog chasing sports car simulator.

I don't know my friend, I just popped a Gen in 3 seconds and healed 4 survivors with the press of a button. Seems good to me XD

Edit:... or at least more bearable than soloq 1v4.

I dunno what to tell you man… it sounds like you don't like DBD period.

In 2vs8 Killers can't effectively slug, can't effectively proxy camp, can't really hold a 6 gen, have a much harder time tunneling, can't stack gen regression or combat gen rush effectively, have to constantly deal with god pallets that can be respawned, have to constantly deal with body blocking and swarms for saves…

You've eluded to it in your own post… Survivors who don't play the objective will lose the game for the team… but if that is your reasoning for saying "killer is easy", I'm sorry, thats not a good argument… any game where one side consistently doesn't play their objective is going to lose.

I'm not a particularly amazing looper either, but I have had games where I've been chased for 30-40s by both killers going as far as to take them to a comp corner… and still I do not see any repair rings on generators across all 7 of my teammates… There is no excuse for that, but just cause my team is off picking their nose instead of trying to advance the survivor objective, that is not evidence the game is killer sided…

The fact is playing Survivor means playing as a team. If your team is crap, its gonna lose, that's the same for every game ever made… but as well as getting bad teams, I've also got plenty of good teams, that have straight up embaressed the killers… and tbh… the latter has been jsut as, if not more common for me… so I can only conclude that you're burnt out and hyper senstitive for when you get a bad player, and ignore the effects of good players on your team….

… and if that's not the case you're simply the most unlucky sod who plays this game…

2 Vs 8 has already become sweatier than the main mode. Very extreme, with mostly one sided stomps in favour of one side or the other. I would definitely say it's Killer sided if the Killers actually know what they're doing and are willing to play dirty and rush as fast as they can to wherever the cages spawn.

I know the mode is fun for Killers so long as you're decent at the role, but I'm not queuing for 15 minutes to get a game.

Personally, I'm already done with it and I'll only be returning to do the second page of the tome.

I'm just telling you what my experience is, which is that Killers are dominating in the majority of my matches now. Over the last few days, only the most dedicated and ruthless Killers still seem willing to sit in such long queues. Casual players who completed the tome are already back playing 1 Vs 4. I know I've definitely tapped out.

Probably because they started learning and adapting to the new version of the mode, and also all the Survs who play to win and just wanted the time and that's it are gone. Less grindy or serious Survs, more Killers who understand what to do with the new stuff now, of course Killers are starting to win more.

Most killers barely got to experience the novelty 2v8 due to the insane queue times so they're not as fatigued. You might fit in 4-5 matches in 2 hours and most people don't have that kind of time.

Survivors have already experienced tons of 2v8 the last event and this event doesn't really change anything they can be in and out of matches in 6-8 mins making it less interesting considering you can play 2 matches before the killer even gets into one. Doesn't help that gamemode is basically heal/gen simulator since chases are vs 2 killers with buffed powers.

tl;dr Queue times are insane because most killers haven't really experienced much of the mode. Survivors experience it at a faster rate and the interesting parts of surv gameplay are reduced so they stop playing it.
