2v8 Survivors Skill is Abysmal

Ok what the heck is wrong with most survivors in this mode? 9/10 matches these survivors have never looped or gotten into a chase or done a gen into their lives.

Is this nothing but new players? Like what is going on they can't even do 1v1 chases or healing.

No wonder Survivors are saying this mode is balanced cause of the Awful Teammates are dragging them so far down

Not that bad I still know how to loop but it seems everyone forgot how to do anything period

It makes sense to down within 10 seconds if two killers are chasing a survivor, but usually there will be another down 2 seconds later

    Something is off

Idk what people expected in a 4v1 survivors don't do guns who thought that doubling that number would help. Now it's just twice as many people not doing gens minus all the fun parts. The biggest problem imo is you can't loop the killer in this game mode once your in a 2v1 the chase is pretty much over. Trying to 2v1 the killer was fun at first but the novelty has worn off and getting downed in 10 seconds no matter what I do has just got boring.

Probably a combination of more lenient MMR to fill lobbies and the Free Weekend that brings in tons of new players.

Its a party-mode. I have seen Default Dwights and Default Megs in my lobbies, while I have over 4.500 hours in the game. The skill gab between one survivor and another one can easily be seen while the match is ongoing. This is mixing everyone together and surely no strict MMR.

With strict MMR, I assume we had to wait not 15, but 30 minutes for a match, so Ill take it.

On survivor-side, for me its really awesome to instantly get a lobby. BP-Farming is far more easier than in the anniversary event lol.

And even a majority of the people on here think most killers are viable and are super easy mode. So that explains itself.

Yeah so at this point I am completely done with this game mode, it is just too killer sided if the killers have barely functional brains.

It was okay for a few games but for me there is not much fun when the balance is so in favour of killers. I cant wait until it ends so everyone is back in the regular queues

Yup, probably because the game went free and there are way too many people playing killer. So far I have seen few games where survivors don't fall like flies.

That explains that those Killer players are sufficiently skilled that the 'super easy mode' claim becomes true. If someone hasn't learned those skills yet, they will (both falsely and factually) claim that it isn't possible to win. It is factually true because that specific Killer player lacks the skill to do so, and it is false because with enough skill it truly does become 'super easy mode' (within 80%+ of matches). A person disagreeing is self-reporting that they haven't reached that peak of skill (for those 80%+ of matches).

So, you are basically saying "if survivors with zero braincell can't win, it's in favour of killers"

    That doesn't seems very accurate

I said in another thread but for me it's sensory overload. The combined never ending terror radiuses, the screams, trying to navigate and understand all the other sound cues, the auras, etc. It can be overwhelming.

Most survivor players aren't that good in chase and many just don't really priorities gens. Add onto that it's a free weekend and there's no MMR in 2v8 and yeah you're gonna have a handful of baby survivor in nearly all your games and even those who aren't babies are likely to go down in 5 seconds and not do gens.

Now it does also mean you may come across baby killers more often. I was able to keep a Wraith busy for ages in one of my games and I can't loop at all.

I have noticed that too. I played a few games of survivor in that mode and it's weird how many times all will be healthy but nobody is on gens. For chase times, it seems that either they are literal gods at the game and can loop 10 Nurses at once around a Z-wall or they just stand still. And that's without the second killer around to hit them again.

Also, is Billy's chainsaw magnetic or are people just this bad at dodging him? I have faced my share of Billys and I never had any issues but somehow my team mates manage to get hit by them frequently.

Overall the survivor side feels like the solo queue experience is dialed up to 11. Maybe survivors should have base kit Bond (keep the range restrictions though, because otherwise it might get confusing with 7 yellow blobs on your screen) in this mode so that they can coordinate a little better.

It's because maps have different loops and survivors no longer have their crutch perks to rely upon. Nothing surprising here.

I'm guessing it's the matchmaking. It's like solo queue matchmaking on crack. It rushes to find eight survivors and as a result ignores skill level and just grabs anyone.

I notice this as well. I might be juicing a killer and I guess if it takes too long to down me the other shows up and then it’s over.

I think it's because we probably have a lot of new people playing because of the free weekend

People would get confused by seeing so many auras of survivors

    Not joking

What people don't seem to understand is what they also don't understand in the standard mode, that simply wasting the killer's time is the worthwhile part of the chase, not forcing the killer to give up chase. It doesn't matter if it's "unfair" that 2 killers are on you. Of course it's unfair. But wasting both their time at the same time gives you team a hideous amount of momentum. It could lead to everyone being healed up, or to 3 gens being done.

there is almost no thinking or any responsibility as one of the 8 survivors lol i just exist too

  • Neaxolotl
    Neaxolotl Member Posts: 1,477

Yeah, if killers "team up" every chase it's pretty much guaranteed escape for every survivors

I get 2v1 by killer. go on hook and see all my teamate running around nowhere near killer. Not a single one on a generator. All my games end above 5 gens with a couple of escapes

I think basekit Kindred (minus killer auras) so people can see if someone is going for survivors in a cage or not. There are times I'm on a gen and see 3 survivors off gens and it isn't until someone is halfway through the hook state that I realize no one is going, I would've left my gen alot sooner had I known no one was heading towards the cage for a save.

I had 3 survivors in the same match try to do a pallet stand off against me.

    As Nurse.

Legit sitting there for up to 10 seconds, waiting for a pallet stun.

    I'm losing my mind.

Survivors are playing 2v8 to farm altruism. Trying to escape is a secondary objective. If BP was rewarded based on team play, then it might be different. It just exacerbates the problems of 1v4.

The more chill mode attracts newer more chill less experienced players? Not surprising.

The more experienced Survs stopped playing due to boredom from it feeling too easy to win, leaving only the ones who want to chill and vibe. The Killers left have dealt with the tougher Survs already, learned the game mode better, and are pushing really hard because the mode conditioned them to SLUG TUNNEL SLUG TUNNEL GO HARD RIGHT NOW YOU HAVE NO TIME due to the quicker gen speeds, and less experienced Survs just CANNOT handle that from two Killers going hard af.

I am not surprised we're seeing this happen, the same happened last time - the super intense Survs, TTVs, and hardcore SWFs all played for a bit and stomped, then Killers started to dominate when those guys left and now there are only ACTUALLY casual players left because all the ones who just wanted to win really hard or look good on Stream got bored of free wins if they even remotely try.

OK but the mental image of this is pretty funny, you have to admit.

I think the 2v8 mode brings in a lot of casual players who don't play very often. I've seen in nearly every match survivors that get downed almost immediately after chase starts (and not because they are getting double-teamed). You're very lucky if you have more than 1-2 survivors who know how to properly loop and counter killer powers

Says who? The Wraith that uncloaks in 1 second?

Maybe its just a load of people who don't want to play 2v8 but need rift fragments so are doing the tome and only the tome then going next?

Double the survivors means double the chance of being left on the hook to die. Basic math, right? Wait, that can't be right..

I mean survivor skill doesn't really matter when BHVR made it so gens can go fast af. Camp the safe pallets and that alone wastes so much time.

  • SharonPancakes
    SharonPancakes Member Posts: 15

I don't understand the post, survivors are bad but the mode is balanced? As a solo q survivor I find this mode extremely survivor sided. Most my matches have half potatoes and half survivors working the objective which is usually enough to escape. Having said that I guess if you included regular 1v4 into the mix now the game is truly balanced. I'm just saying that because that seems to be BHVRs logic, disregard most players experience and just focus on the average (horrible reasoning btw.)

Yep, the amount of times I've died on 1st hook or looped the killer for 4 gens and left to die on hook while everyone is standing and TB-ing at the gate has been infuriating. And that for a game mode that is supposed to be fun. Play this with friends or don't play at all.

  • SharonPancakes
    SharonPancakes Member Posts: 15

I say extremely survivor sided what I mean is I escape more than not, that's extreme compared to how unbalanced and unfair 1v4 solo q is.
