4000 hours as survivor and tunneled out in 2 seconds

Hi.

I have 4000 hours in the game. But that doesn't mean what it did a year, two year, or especially three years ago.

I play survivor mainly and in Solo Q. For reference, I've been playing since 2018. I would describe myself as a causal gamer. Most of my games I get tunneled out immediately.

Either I'm matched with a better team than me, so I'm tunneled for weakness. Or I'm matched with noobs, in which case, I'm tunneled for showing any skill at all.

I know streamers love this for content. But this isn't my day job. I do this for fun. I'm just losing hope in this game which I love and have invested so much time an money in.

Does anyone else experience this?

I just finished game 5 of tonight. This time I made it to third place. Never was hooked, but the killer had Rancor and I was the obsession, so lucky me, after no escapes so far, they stuck with me until the other two survivors completed the finale gen! Thank BHVR!

And the game just crashed. And I am punished with a DC penalty. Just over 23000 players on the Bone Chill event. 2024. I am punished because their game crashed. Yet I am here. After all this. $100s of dollars. Ready and willing to play. And yet. They want to ######### me for playing the game. And it crashes. Jesus ######### Christ.

I have around 5k hours on my main Steam account and probably another 1000 on my alt and Epic account as well.

I would not consider myself weak but fairly average to reasonably strong depending on the day lol. But I rarely escape matches anymore, the games are often miserable slogs against unfun killers with extremely oppressive or just plain obnoxious builds.

If I do well in a chase, many killers get their ego hurt and they will proxy my hook and go out of their way to tunnel my while I am vulnerable.

Lately solo survivor seems to be an endless loop of misery, with maybe 1 in 20 matches being fun and worth staying in. I don't know how to fix that as I can't choose the killers I don't want to verse and I have no control over obnoxious play styles that team mates give up on (which tbh I cant blame them).

Oh and if I spend 4 minutes bleeding out again while the killer tries to find my team mate for the 4k… fml

As a solo q survivor with similar hours I can not relate. It does suck when you're tunneled but it happens so infrequently with me I would never make a post about it. What I would complain about is the horrible matchmaking and horrible system in place that completely invalidates individual skill. If you're getting tunneled out constantly I would say practice more, if you're losing constantly even though you do very well in chases and work the objective I would say get a swf or play another game.

Honestly though, it seems that most just want the easy 4k and they don't care how they get it.

The problem is, that easy method is often incredibly unfun for the survivors and they will frequently get that 4k simply because survivors just give up and go next, rather than endure a miserable match with someone hell bent on making it as unfun as possible.

I have seen many say they only care about others fun, I must be different as I was a Nurse main for years and I stopped playing her because I realised my opponents were not having fun (many just gave up/DC'd etc). There is a fine line of course but you don't have to make every match abject misery for the other side but some just do not care and I don't know how you fix that other than removing methods for them to create misery.

I also solely play killer, I don't have the patience to slug and bleed someone out, and I will not tunnel someone out unless it's a super sweat lobby whom seems to want the min max game.

Im a huntress main so all I care about is hitting cool hatchets and really just vibing out. Some games I win and some I lose, some I'm chilling and get hit with the 3 bnps and gen goblins, and next im having snowball fights with Nancy and Lara in the streets of badham.

I have a lot of hours in this game and when I started out winning was everything, but a lot of it was because of egc the ggez would get to me and I would take it out on the next team and every t am after by sweating to the max (my first p100 was nurse so....). After a while I learned that the fun in this game is actually through the interactions and not necessarily the wins. I have way more fun getting nods on a good play and giving nods at a good play vs getting personally hurt when being out played.

I feel the content creators/viewers of this game have ruined it a bit with most content being salt extracting or bullying etc. most really good even matches aren't even glanced at, even the wholesome moments which seem to be more rare are completely left out.

If you're casual, the game ought to be putting you with casuals. This is a failure of the MMR system.

There is no MMR: The problem is that the worst killer with meta-perks is stronger than any swf in this game.

I agree, both sides. I like being able to choose mercy sometimes. I like killing as many or few as I want, I like getting Killers to interact. I am sick of feeling like I have to genrush or push super hard from the word go to get anything done.
