Creating a movie script based on Dead by Daylight would involve crafting a compelling narrative that brings the core elements of the game—survival horror, cat-and-mouse chases, and tense atmospheres—into a cinematic format. Here's a basic outline and an excerpt of the script for a potential Dead by Daylight-inspired movie:

Title: Dead by Daylight: The Harvest

Genre: Horror / Thriller

Logline: A group of strangers is trapped in a mysterious forest, hunted by a relentless killer. As they struggle to survive, they discover that the terror they’re experiencing is only the beginning of a dark ritual that could bind them to the killer’s world forever.

ACT ONE

INT. MYSTERIOUS WOODS – NIGHT

We open on a dense, foggy forest. The trees are bare, twisted. Low, ominous sounds echo from all directions. A GROUP OF STRANGERS (5-7 individuals) is lost in the woods, all visibly frightened and exhausted.

The group gathers around a small campfire. There’s an air of unease between them. The camera cuts between their tense faces.

JAMES (late 20s)
(looking around nervously)
This doesn’t feel right. How did we even get here?

SARAH (early 30s)
(softly, almost to herself)
We didn’t come here… we woke up here.

ALEX (mid 20s)
(cutting in)
No one knows how we got here. But we need to stick together. Find a way out.

MELISSA (late teens)
(voice trembling)
I keep hearing things... like footsteps... but no one’s around.

The wind howls, and the fog thickens, swallowing the trees.

Suddenly, the crackling sound of a DISTANT CHAINSAW rips through the air.

SARAH
(eyes wide)
Did you hear that?

ALEX
(firmly)
Stay calm. We need to keep moving.

The group starts to get up, but then—

CRACK. A branch snaps nearby. They all freeze, eyes wide with terror.

ALEX
(whispers)
Stay close.

The camera whips around, following their every move as they walk through the woods, the heavy fog closing in. Shadows move in the distance, but no one is seen.

Suddenly, a blood-curdling scream pierces the night. One of the group members, JONATHAN (early 30s), is dragged off into the shadows. The others scramble in panic.

JAMES
(shouting)
No! We have to go back!

SARAH
(sobbing)
It’s too late for him. We have to keep moving.

ACT TWO

INT. DERELICT CABIN – NIGHT

The survivors find an abandoned cabin deep in the forest. They barricade the doors and windows, trying to catch their breath.

MELISSA
(voice cracking)
What the hell is going on? Why are we here?

ALEX
We’re being hunted… by someone—or something.

JAMES
(looking around)
That scream… it sounded like Jonathan. What if that’s what happens to all of us?

They start searching the cabin, finding strange symbols carved into the walls and an old, blood-stained ritual dagger.

SARAH
(reading aloud from a weathered book)
“Only through sacrifice will the cycle end. Only by the hands of the chosen.”

A strange, haunting WHISTLING sound is heard outside, growing louder. The survivors look at each other in fear.

ALEX
(whispering)
We need to stay hidden. Stay quiet.

Suddenly, the door bursts open. A KILLER in a grotesque mask and covered in dark, dripping blood stands in the doorway.

It’s a monstrous, towering figure wielding a BLOODY AXE.

JAMES
(screaming)
Run!

ACT THREE

EXT. DARK WOODS – NIGHT

The survivors scatter, running through the forest. The camera cuts between each of them as they sprint in different directions, gasping for air.

SARAH
(voice-over, panicked)
What do we do? What do we do?

They find themselves near a GENERATOR—rusted, but seemingly operational. ALEX starts working on it, while the others try to hold off the killer.

MELISSA
(desperate)
We have to get this running, now!

The camera zooms in on ALEX’S HAND, as he struggles with the wires. Behind him, the KILLER silently steps closer, holding the axe high.

SARAH
(shouting)
ALEX, WATCH OUT!

Just as the killer swings down with the axe, the generator hums to life, sending BLINDING LIGHT into the woods. The killer hesitates, momentarily disoriented.

ALEX
(urgently)
Get to the exit. Now!

The survivors make a mad dash for the exit, a glowing GATE far in the distance. The killer follows, but the light from the generator seems to repel him.

As they approach the gate, MELISSA stumbles and is dragged away into the darkness. The others stop, looking back in horror.

SARAH
(sobbing)
No!

JAMES
We can’t save her. We have to go!

They reach the gate, but as they escape, the camera reveals the mysterious entity—a dark figure watching from the shadows, always watching.

CUT TO BLACK.

ENDING SCENE – POST-CREDIT

A cold, empty room. A TABLE with symbols is displayed, and A VOICE whispers over the sound of a ticking clock:

VOICE
(whispering)
The harvest is never complete. It always begins again.

FADE OUT.

THE END

This script follows the basic structure of Dead by Daylight, introducing a group of survivors, a terrifying killer, and a mysterious, supernatural world that they must navigate to survive. The movie could explore the dynamics between the characters, the horror of being hunted, and the dark forces behind their torment. The narrative could leave open the possibility for a sequel, maintaining the suspense and mystery of the game.

    ACT: THE TRAPPER'S HUNT

Location: Dense, fog-covered woods. An abandoned shack in the distance. Nearby, a generator hums faintly, surrounded by traps.

    INT. WOODS - NIGHT

The scene opens with the survivors: JENNY (late 20s, athletic, resourceful), MAX (early 30s, tech-savvy), LUCY (early 20s, nervous but sharp), and AARON (mid-30s, brave but impulsive), running through the dense, fog-covered woods. The trees loom like silent giants, their limbs twisting overhead. The survivors are all carrying flashlights—bright beams of light cutting through the thick mist.

    JENNY
    (whispers, breathless)
He’s still out there. He hasn’t given up.

    LUCY
    (looking over her shoulder, trembling)
We need to find the generator… or we’ll never make it out.

    MAX
    (sternly)
Stay close. If we stick together, we’ll have a better shot.

Suddenly, a loud CRASH echoes through the woods—a huge trap snapping shut nearby. The group freezes, and their flashlights sweep the area.

    AARON
    (whispering urgently)
    It’s him. The Trapper.

    EXT. WOODS – CONTINUOUS

The survivors quickly move into a crouch, their flashlights darting between the trees. The Trapper emerges from the shadows, a hulking figure with a bloodied iron mask and a massive bear trap hanging from his belt. His eyes are cold and dead, but there’s a sickly grin beneath his mask as he surveys the area.

    The Trapper
    (grunting, low)
    There’s nowhere to hide.

    INT. WOODS – CONTINUOUS

The survivors split up, each one taking a different route to confuse The Trapper and avoid the traps.

    LUCY
    (terrified)
    Max! I can’t see you!

    MAX
    (determined)
Keep moving! I’ll get to the generator!

EXT. WOODS – A FEW SECONDS LATER

The Trapper slowly walks, listening for any signs of movement. He hears a soft crunch underfoot—a trap snapping open. He turns, his focus zeroing in on a survivor.

Suddenly, JENNY, using her agility, dashes past him, flashlight in hand, shining it directly into The Trapper's eyes. The Trapper growls in frustration, swiping at the light with his hand.

    JENNY
    (yelling)
    Max! It’s all yours!

Max, who has been working on the generator, hears Jenny’s call and looks up. He starts cranking the generator’s lever faster, the hum growing louder.

The Trapper, enraged by the distraction, stomps forward, but AARON, with his own flashlight, blinds him from behind. The Trapper stumbles back, momentarily disoriented.

EXT. NEAR THE GENERATOR – CONTINUOUS

Max is desperately trying to finish the generator. The Trapper, now furious, stalks toward him, his footsteps heavy and deliberate. Jenny quickly runs to the side, trying to draw his attention away from Max.

    JENNY
    (taunting)
Come on, big guy! Over here!

As The Trapper turns toward her, LUCY, trembling but focused, darts behind him and shines her flashlight into his face, temporarily blinding him. He roars in frustration.

    LUCY
    (whispers)
Hurry, Max… just a little more!

The generator’s lights flicker, and a loud CLUNK echoes as it powers up, the sound reverberating in the thick forest.

EXT. NEAR THE EXIT GATE – NIGHT

With the generator up and running, the survivors move quickly to the exit gate, but The Trapper is already closing in on them.

    MAX
    (shouting)
This way! We’ve got the exit open!

    JENNY
    (focused, holding her flashlight high)
    We can make it!

As they rush toward the gate, The Trapper, furious, pulls out a bear trap from his belt and tosses it in front of them. It lands with a loud SNAP, and the survivors jump back, barely avoiding the trap.

    AARON
    (gritting teeth)
    We’re not done yet!

Max runs to the gate control, his hands shaking, while Jenny, Lucy, and Aaron keep The Trapper at bay with their flashlights. The Trapper lunges for Jenny, but she steps aside just in time, causing him to crash into a nearby tree. She shines her light directly into his face again, blinding him momentarily.

    LUCY
    (screaming)
    MAX, COME ON!

The exit gate begins to open, and The Trapper snarls, realizing his prey is escaping. In one last, desperate charge, he rushes toward the gate.

    EXT. EXIT GATE – NIGHT

MAX slams the final lever down with a loud THUNK, and the gate swings open. The survivors dash toward it as The Trapper charges forward, but it’s too late. They dive through the gate just as it slams shut behind them, locking them in safety.

The Trapper stands on the other side, glaring at them through the bars, rage boiling beneath his mask. He throws a bear trap against the gate in frustration, but it bounces off harmlessly. The survivors catch their breath, each of them exhausted and covered in dirt and sweat, but they’ve escaped… for now.

    JENNY
    (panting)
We made it… We made it out.

    AARON
    (sighing with relief)
That was too close. We were lucky.

    LUCY
    (still trembling)
We need to get out of here... before he finds us again.

Max nods, looking back toward the fog-filled woods, knowing full well that even in the safety of the moment, the horror isn’t over. The Trapper’s hunting ground is vast, and the cycle never ends.

    FADE OUT.
