This players in this game have a serious behavioral problem in over using the quit match option. Sometimes rl happens and you must leave a match to deal with something and sometimes you get angry and decide to quit and I do NOT defend the latter. This game loses serious value when even one surivivor decides to quit making it 3v1 but again I understand ######### happens. The reason I was drove to the forums to create this thread is its gotten really bad. In the last 3 of 5 games I played as killer there was a surivivor named "X=DC" (ex. Mori=DC). I decide to play a shroud just to see if that survivor would even wait for a mori to take place which did not happen. As soon as the game loaded they disconnected because they thought a mori was played. The next match we have "Plague=DC" so I choose the plague as the killer and once again instant DC as soon as the match loads (assuming they say a fountain). Anyways, long story short, the disconnects have gotten out of hand to a point where survivors make their steam name "rules" that they create or they simply won't play the match. Something needs to be done about this because it ruins the fun and I personally will no longer play the game if this continues to get worse.

Streamers cause this i think. Spread it to thousands saying its ok to do.
I know quite a few that dodge if they get a killer they personally don't like. It used to be Doctor and Nurse but here recently it's Legion...

DCing needs more punishment, obviously people aren't being punished enough for DCing but Honestly I don't see that happening.
Even fog whisperers will DC or Derank and spread the idea that this kind of behavior is acceptable to their audiences.

I won't put the blame on streamers for the actions of others, as it's not their responsibility to babysit the community. Fog Whisperers would be an exception to this rule I'd imagine, but I'm not familiar with what their duties actually entail.
There may be streamers that popularize the idea that it's ok to disconnect from a game if it doesn't meet your criteria for fun, and if their following is big enough, that does have to potential to spread to a more impressionable audience. Again, unless they're purposely going against the spirit (waahhh!) of a role like Fog Whisperer, it's not their responsibility to maintain the overall health of the game, even if it's only advantageous for them to do so.
This is a human problem. The community will have to somehow fix itself and deal with this bizarre level of entitlement, or watch the game slowly dwindle in time.

I completely agree, I would like to see stricter rules in place but yes, if a Streamer does this it's entirely up to them and anyone who follows from watching the same for them But Fog whisperers are another story.
Fog Whisperers are people who are chosen directly by BHVR. If they exploit the game by deranking or begin to DC against any killer they find unfun that sends a message that BHVR supports this kind of behavior in the game. They should really keep tabs on the people they've chosen to promote the game.

Streamers promote this behaviour and instead of preventing or punishing them at least, BHVR even officially supports some of those special guys

I'm not trying to shame anyone, just give proper examples of places I personally have witnessed these actions. I also agree with the responses above and don't believe they should be blamed but with their audience and impact it's possible we may need in game system to combat this problem.

Even with proof they're doing it, putting the name down flags you for trouble.
I agree they should be held responsible, but I'm not using names anymore.

Almost like your not allowed to talk about it tbh the amount of threads I've seen closed over this subject is crazy. I get the name and shame aspect I guess but still it's all protection or appears to be that way special treatment for those that clearly promote dcs. It looks really bad and honestly I think the devs are working fixing issues but not this one 🤔

I dont understand why they cant implement something where if you deliberately press the quit match button after so many times you just get banned or something because sometimes people do it just to depip and its annoying

If the killer isn't rank 20 and this isn't their first match as killer that = dc 4 me
