Ping delay, Servers issues
Hi,
I started playing on global release on PS4 and stopped in 2019, but I got back into the game last August. Don't get me wrong—the game is incredible—but the ping issues are a major problem. We're in 2025 now, and having ping starting from 35ms to 80ms (and sometimes even 120ms) seems unreal for an online game. Taking hits from seemingly out of nowhere is frustrating and makes the experience less enjoyable. It's demotivating and makes me question whether I want to keep playing. On top of that, there’s the issue of killers slugging, which wastes 20 minutes of my precious time (im unemployed). , I’m in France, just an hour from Paris, with 2.5Gb/s download and 1Gb/s upload speeds. In every other game, my ping never exceeds 10ms, yet in this game, it feels like the servers are located somewhere near Jupiter.
It's making the game borderline unplayable for an online experience but still, i love this game, i just want DBD to be a respectable game and not a alpha draft game who doesn't update
Love yall

Hold on I'm sorry...
10ms!?!?

yes lmao 7ms to 15ms actually, never less, but that's because a lot of games got servers in France while DBD only has Germany and Ireland…..

If you're playing with 10ms ping your connection is godlike and we're all quite jelly! 😁
I've been hovering at 70-90 wired ever since Blight was introduced. This includes moving twice, going from the Xbox1x to the Series X, two different routers, and upgrading the speed of my Internet as well. With other games it's always less than 50, but not for DBD. And I can drive to their server nearest me in less than three hours.

to be honest, most games and most situations in DBD (in my personal experience) where ping has been up to 70 m/s has rarely overly impacted (barring huntress refrigerator hatchets which seems to be irrespective of ping to be honest lol).
Most games I have are around 35-50 m/s with odd fluctuations.
however, upwards and consistently over 75/80 is very noticeable; quite bad at 100+ and borderline unplayable at 150+ pings. It seems to be significantly worse when it is the killer who has this bad ping compared to a survivor who tends to get replaced by a bot more often than not when ping is very bad.1
