Why is the red stain always on?
Is it just me or does it make the game less enjoyable when I see the killer from a mile away all because of this constant red stain exposing the killer to me?
I could understand during a chase or maybe when he's very close outside of chase but anything else is excessive.

The Survivor have a loud (and visual) Heartbeat indicator if you are close, I really dont think the Red-Stain is that much of an issue when the game is practically screaming at you "THE KILLER IS COMING" 24/7.
And a case for it being on at all times can be made solely through the existence of range Killers, since it would provide some way of knowing the rough direction they are looking. Also it if toggled on/off depending on a chase, there would be ways to abuse chase mechanics to constantly hide it and/or it would probably bug out every now and then knowing DBD's jank code.

Im just going to leave this here. This isnt even including my Console playtime either.
Im speaking generally from my experience, older DBD broke a lot and things with scratchmarks, audio, or something involving tracking would always break. Even today people still complain about bugs/issues with it, scratchmarks still dont work properly sometimes and animations/audio is still broken for many things in the game.
Making it so the Red-Stain only shows in a chase would lead to more issues with more things breaking, and the way the current Red-Stain works is perfectly fine.

Because Lore. It also disappears during Undetectable.

Well if you find the red stain an issue, simply play a stealth Killer. Ghostface, Sadako, Chucky, and Pig are all here for you, friend. :)
