Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

Indecent servers (and matchmaking)

Does this seem normal to you, for a multiplayer focused game, in 2025?

Why do we, with 40 ping, get a killer that has 300+ ping from the other part of the world?
After almost ten years, and 3500 hours of playing, I see matchmaking is still terrible, not to say worse.

Furthermore, why pallets don't work sometimes? (same game as the above screenshot)

Another example of the pallets not working

BHVR refuses to enforce ping limits because they want as many people as possible around the world playing the game. They won’t even show us pings in lobbies. Too bad if it results in a crappy and unfair experience for other players. Unless people start leaving the game in large numbers because of this issue, BHVR will never do anything about it.

I agree, we definitely need to see the killer's ping in lobby. I ended up in countless game where the killer's ping was so high that it was completely unplayable, and everyone just killed themselves on the hook straight away. I don't think that's fun.

I think something broke with matchmaking because I am not using a VPN yet I am consistently being thrown into matches where every other player is in an Asian country. I'm getting matched with Chinese and Korean players, I think I even went up against someone from Thailand. This shouldn't be happening with a random American guy like me. And even when I match up with other Americans, everyone's connections are bad. The new update feels like it's messed everything up.

For the past few months I very rarely got matched with killers with 200+ ping before, but I logged on to play 5 matches of survivor this afternoon and 2 of those killers had nearly 300 ping. Either something has changed, or it's one hell of a coincidence.

After the recent update, apart from the indecent servers, the game also started to stutter, on my very high end PC. One step forward, four steps backwards

Yeah the new update broke something….had several games where the ping was just bad for everyone. Another game where i had my usual ping (20-30) and killer had a ping of 200+ ( just felt really bad to play)…. Also alot of stuttering again ( i have a good pc and DBD normally works completly fine). I even changed my graphics to medium and updated my drivers …. stuttering remains. It seems to happen when status effects are applied but sometimes just randomly

I love how the whole community agrees on the topic that high ping is awful.
