2v8 is GREAT!
I am not sure why players are so upset and triggered by this game mode. In my opinion this is a great mode for killers to try something new. I been playing this game for years and I appreciate this kind of break from the normal. I guess I wish people wouldn't get so upset and emotional about a game. I get it. I get frustrated at times too, but I try not to react to it. The only thing I can control is my own reactions to things. Yes the bots are janky, but so are some players. I am not the greatest at this game, never have been, but I enjoy the heck out of it. I just had a game where it was me and the bots were the only survivors to escape. LOL! I also had a game yesterday where wesker was super bugged, but it was hilarious IMO! I tried to fix him by slamming pallets to no avail, and then the gates opened and people were floating out! 2v8 is a MEME ya'll! Try to enjoy it, and the awesome bloodpoint boosts for survivors is a bonus! Can also get some of the weirder tomes done! I dig it man! I dig it!

People are more motivated by negative experiences than they are positive ones. The forums makes it look like everyone is upset, but the players who are having a good time are busy playing the game. So they're not here to balance out all the complaints.
Glad you are having a good time.

For me the negatives are less about the game mode and more how they seemingly dumbed down bots while forcing 2 of them per game. I didn't have many complaints in the last 2v8 except for how stingy BHVR is with bloodpoint bonuses.
10 -
Just because you don't enjoy something it doesn't mean you are necessarily "upset or triggered. It often just means it's not for you. I'm just not a huge fan of the mode but glad you are having a blast.
14 -
I wish you all the incredible bot teammates you could ever ask for.
12 -
Yeah, I don't see it either. This mode brings something to the game, like it or not. Everyone, for years, was asking for exactly this: a 2v8 mode. But now they're backpedaling and saying, "This mode was never gonna work! Only a crazy person would think this a good idea!" The only thing they said before was that it would be killer sided because both killers would go around both sides of the loop, and down the survivor, which even I agreed with at the time. But to say those last 2 iterations were anything but survivor sided is just wrong. No bots, less killers, and just as ridiculous maps and abilities. I don't see a gigantic shift between those old ones and this new one, except for the inclusion of bots. They are doing something, just aren't playing as efficient as they should for being bots. Nobody enjoys playing with them as opposed to another real human. But if the bots are removed, the killer queue will be even crazier, because it's ridiculously long as it is. So on that situation, the devs are between a rock and a hard place.

Bots gonna bot my guy! This whole game mode is a meme.

If this post got you in your feelings, then I am probably referring to you. OR the multiple posts in the forums of people raging about this 2v8 is the target audience.
1 -
I have been in a couple games where the killers seemed to work together, but for the most part if people are doing objectives the killers cannot be everywhere at once. I have gotten out of very few games, couple by sheer luck the hatch spawned next to me. I try not to take this too seriously and know that killers are having a blast I would hope! I am also getting some good looping practice in! Which I definitely need because I am terra bad at looping.

I have no feelings about your post either way so I guess you aren't referring to me then.
11 -
Its the bots. Those are the complaints. Nice deflection.
10 -
LOL! Complaints are complaints, no matter the reason.

Guess not chief!

that's the issue, it's a great mode for killers. for survs it's the same boring experience and then some. the bots, legion mending sim, killers VPNing and lagging with 180+ ping majority of games…
9 -
Glad you are having fun with it, wish i could say the same but Bots & Legion killed it for me.
3 -
I will say I don't think I have escaped one game with Legion in it. Did have one very bad legion that I just kept stunning, but that is few and far between. Not sure how fast they get their power back though? RPD map is very intense with a legion.
1 -
It just isn't fun either in my opinion, it feels like they just have their power 24/7 and everyone is mending constantly. I guess that is situational, but still idk why they thought adding LEGION of all killers would be a good idea.
2 -
2v6 is boring because it's easy win for killer;it's like bullying children. Except when you play survivor you have 2 killers humping you thinking they are great for strategically ignoring the useless bots.
IImagine Loading in 1v4 and 1 survivor just never shows up. That's 2v8, every game. I play this mode competitively but it's the integrity of this mode has been compromised

I think it is fine and cool that you are enjoying the gamemode, but disagree with the approach of not allowing people to hold an opinion on the gamemode if it is remotely negative. You can express how much you enjoy it, but people are also allowed to express how much they dislike it, both should be and are fine.
Based on the feedback Ive been seeing, both on and off the DBD Forums, people really dislike this version of 2v8, specifically from the Survivor side, because of the changes (and lack of changes) made to the role. Queue times, as a result, are longer even with the introduction of bots to "help with queue times" since people dont want to play the gamemode at all.
I sat in a 50-minute queue for 2v8 Killer, just for some perspective. 2v8 Survivor queue is instant, people just dont want to play it.
7 -
You play this mode competitively? Ok. Not sure what to say to that. I have won several games in 2v8 as survivor. I don't play killer at all though.

I am not "not allowing people to have an opinion" that is silly and makes no sense. I don't see anywhere I said people can't dislike the game mode, at all. I am saying maybe don't be so emotional over a video game…basically. Control your reactions to your emotions. I know I sure try to. That is all we can control at the end of the day, our own reactions.

Queues are brutal, and they will never fix this by just giving more bloodpoints.
1 -
There's nothing wrong with the player base voicing their opinions and giving constructive criticism. And that's mostly what I've seen from people on the forums, not people being over emotional about a video game. After all, that's partly why BHVR maintain this forum, so they can hear our feedback.
My feeling is that Killer is an absolute blast in 2 V 8. But the Survivor role is currently very under developed. We should have at least 6 new Survivor classes to try out by now. The novelty is wearing thin for me and I don't personally feel much urge to join the Survivor queue. I mean yeah, I'll still play a few games here and there, but for the next two weeks I'll be playing less DBD.
It might be that myself and others on the forum are among a tiny minority of players not enjoying the latest 2 V 8 so much. That's fine I guess. If Survivors keep queuing up in the numbers they have for previous iterations, I'd be willing to conceed that most players do infact enjoy 2 V 8 for what it is - a silly low stakes party mode. Maybe they don't need to change anything and I'll just sit the mode out next time it returns.

I am Goku in real life...I always try my best and want to face the world's strongest. Being chased by 2 killers at once really fires up my competitive spirit.
0 -
Is anyone having a good time? No one is playing Survivor - as is evident by the queue times and need to add Bots which still isn't doing much and the Killer queues are miserable at 15-25 minutes lol
2 -
rock on! It does feel nice to juke two killers who are chasing you! I was in a game earlier where a player got a double stun on them somehow. LOL! I think we were all surprised!
1 -
I get that! I guess it is just silly that SOME players don't see this game mode as a chance to have fun and do something different. It is obviously not a serious mode of the game, not saying DBD is serious to begin with. Fact is, no matter what the game mode had or didn't people would still feel some type of way. Don't likey game mode, don't play game mode. Simple. Not everything needs a reaction or response.
1 -
For killer? I remember it being about the same last time they had 2v8. But I don't play killer much.

Hey, It's great you're enjoying the mode. I'm glad you'e having a good time!
But, respectfully, framing valid critcism as people veing "triggered" or "too emotional" comes across as very dismissive. The reality is that many players have expressed clear, reasoned concerns and criticisms they've had about the mode, and brushing all of it of as an overraction rather than actual experiences that matter, doesn't come across as having good faith nor does it add to the overall discussion.
Also, to be honest you could justify anything with that response. "This person was clearly hacking, I loaded in and they completed every gen in 2 seconds and floated around the map and I could't reach them." "It's just a game, they're having fun don't be so emotional."
It being a game doesn't mean is it immune to critcism, nor does voicing those critiques make you an emotionally triggered individual. Your opinions, just like others can completley change the game, because the game is always subject to change based upon feedback.
I'm sure the devs will appreciate hearing your praise for the mode, as positive feedback is just as important as negative.

Another one that gaslights you with "bots are fine"
7 -
The "feedback" I have read is what I am talking about. I said what I said and would say it again. Criticism is fine, if you leave out emotion. Once you do that it is based on emotion and not actual constructive feedback. The example you gave I would not call emotional…maybe learn the difference if you are going to have an opinion on it. I have not once said do not criticize? Where are people reading that? People see "triggered" and get triggered. LOL!
0 -
There it is! The "Gaslight" comment! Mention people being triggered and it is sure to follow! LOL! I don't mind the bots, that is all I said…derp.

2v8 is still the most fun i ever have playing this game. The bots are extremely bad but in my opinion better than the average terrible player u get in the 2v8. Yeah bots aren't gen productive but they go for saves and heals when needed. In my experience your average teammate will go down immediately in this game mode so they not even that much better at looping. The bots like to pre-run so they will stay alive longer but they also just less gen productive because of that. I
1 -
"Control your reactions to your emotions" is saying that the way people are currently reacting is a problem to you, why is it a problem for people to react emotionally?
5 -
Never said it was a problem for me? I made a statement. If you want your emotions to run your life, that is on you. I choose not to. The only thing I can control is my reactions to things. That includes reactions to my emotions.
0 -
Totally agree! I did a post not long ago about DCs and quitting. I legit just had a match with two players quitting in 2v8 after one hook…LOL! I find that to be pretty silly. At least bots don't quit. Bots gonna bot. I am glad you are enjoying it! See ya out there!

I'm having a total blast with 2v8. I really do love it. It's the best DBD has ever been for me personally. I just wish the queue didn't take 15 minutes for Killer.
Lack of SBMM is one major reason why I enjoy it as well.
1 -
Nice! I haven't played killer on it. Makes sense though! I have had some interesting games for sure. Definitely not bored! If you see me working a gen have mercy on me! LOL!
1 -
Then why make that statement?
4 -
Why not make that statement? I stand by what I said….
0 -
You stand by, yet you can't explain it?
5 -
You ok there? Why would I need to explain anything to you? It's a statement. It doesn't need explaining. Pretty cut and dry. LOL!

Most people aren’t mad about 2v8 mode. They’re mad about the bots that are killing the player experience in this mode. 2v8 was fine and a lot of fun in previous events, except for the killer wait time. BHVR tried to address that with a solution that many, many people on this forum correctly predicted would be a bad idea because it would ruin the survivor experience and as a secondary effect make the killer wait time problem even worse. That’s what people are complaining about.
7 -
Because the discussion isn't going to be constructive if you don't try to make people understand your point of view. Why should we "Control your reactions to your emotions" if you don't explain why we should?
6 -
Can't find a game on 2v8 within 10 minutes. Can't find a game on 1v4 within 10 minutes. I've only played probably… ~4 games since the start of the event… But in the games I did play (as legion) I had a lot of fun… The herbs are sweet and so is the resident evil theme. The bots suck as predicted by everyone and they have done nothing to mitigate the queue times.

I am not asking for a discussion? It is a statement? Maybe you should ask yourself why? Or ask yourself why not? Only you can answer that question. Statements don't need discussions. Everything doesn't need a response.
0 -
I’m having fun as survivor and I’ll just leave it at that.
1 -
You opened a Discussion, on a Forum and i made a Comment.
If you're here to make statements then you don't even need to respond to my comments.
I really don't appreciate your dismissive attitude.11 -
I like the mode and have a blast with it as survivor.
My only gripe is the wait time to play as killer!! Tried a few times and gave up after waiting 15 mins.

Sometimes tone can be difficult to convey over text both in writing and reading so if I’m incorrect in the interpretation of your tone, I apologize and I will try to clarify. It seems like you’re saying that criticism is only valid if it’s emotionless, but that’s not how discussion works. People can be frustrated and still provide valid feedback. One doesn’t cancel out the other. If a game mode is frustrating, that frustration is part of the feedback, not something that makes it invalid. Expressing how much you like the game mode is also feedback even though it involves emotion.
Perhaps you’re not aware of the way it comes across, but the way you’re using the word ‘triggered’ in this context is inherently dismissive. It’s not a neutral term—it’s a way to mock people for having a negative reaction, which is why so many have pushed back on it regardless if it was your intention for it to be mocking or not. As you’re not engaging with what’s actually being said; you’re just deciding that anyone who doesn’t like the mode is being too emotional to take seriously, which comes across as a way to avoid the discussion entirely if someone has a different opinion than your own.
Again, this is the way the messages are coming across. I’m not accusing you of saying these specific things or believing them, but the phrases you’re using, and the way you're dismissing feedback unless it meets your individual expectations of what you believe feedback is— comes across as intentionally dismissive or backhanded.(Also, for clarity, the example I provided wasn’t meant to show someone being emotional- it was to demonstrate how that kind of logic could be used to dismiss anything, even when it shouldn’t be. If I clarified that someone was frustrated because they got into a match with a cheater, and then voiced their frustration about wanting a fair game, that doesn’t mean their feedback about not wanting a cheater in the game because it frustrated them, isn’t valid.)
