Killer bots possible?
I’m wondering if there is a possibility that we will get to see killer bots utilized in dbd in the future? For like customs, general games/events? What are people’s thoughts on this topic?

I'm pretty sure they've said they plan to add killer bots to customs eventually but it's likely not a high priority for them.
Personally, I would adore killer bots. Definitely one of my top 3 things I'd love to see added.

I’m kinda surprised they haven’t appeared in custom games yet.
I think they already exist for when a killer dc’s in 2v8, or at least bots for the available killers. Maybe they want to have bots ready for all killers? Idk

I do not see why there had not even been a attempt yet to make them yet survivor ones came out so fast, i get its alot of work compare to survivor but even the og 3 killers would be some type of hint.

I’ve been pretty vocal about this topic. I think providing killer bots would help so much for practicing and learning counter play, which is only beneficial for everyone.
The fact that the list of killers with their add-ons, perks and powers gets longer and longer means the knowledge required to be somewhat competent at the survivor role is extensive. And there is no way to currently practice, unlike how killers can. They have access to every survivor perk and killer perk in the game even if they don’t own the perk themselves, and can combine it with any item or perk combo to practice against or with. Not to mention choosing which map to practice. Thats such a huge tool.
Honestly I think the information expectations for survivors is kind of steep in comparison. Not only does every killer have different counter play but their add-ons when equipped can change tweak that counter play as well, and of course killer perks in general. And there is no tutorial for each killer so you’re blindly thrown in.
It really doesn’t make sense to me why this tool isn’t made available like the other role has, and has had for awhile. Here’s hoping that will change soon!

Well they clearly can do it since they appear in 2v8 and some of them, Nurse for example, can be pretty intimidating.
I guess they have not managed to work out the AI for every killer yet as that would be quite complex and time consuming but I think it will end up in the game… eventually

Possible, but have unresolved issues like camping, tunneling, going after injured survivors over healthy survivors, and knowing when your hiding in a bush.

I'm surprised they didn't add the killer bots they had already made after the first iteration of 2v8 to custom games. Although it won't be the same as playing against a human player, being able to play against the bot would allow players to test out perk combos without worrying about "throwing" the match and affecting the experience of other players. Killer bots would also be great because you would be able to face the killers that tend to be rare to play against, such as Hag. Killer bots would also allow players to get an idea of a killer's counterplay, "although not the same experience as playing against a human player," since you could play against it as much as you want. I do wonder if BHVR would add killer DC bots in the future since there are survivor bots when a survivor DCs, but adding them to custom games would be a net improvement for everyone since only players that want to play against a killer bot would be able to if they choose to.
I would also like to note from a programmer standpoint that bots are also great for testing new features and fixing bugs since their movement can be directly controlled making it easier to replicate bugs so they can be fixed.4 -
they are. Had a nurse player dc after chasing me for 6gens and the bot immediately down me. Had a blight dc after a two gen chase and a bot pop up with way better pathing and use of there rushes. Now the huntress bot is legit terrible because they will always pull up at the pallet so u win every 50/50 vs them by default. Slinger bot a bit better than huntress because u can up the gun and fire immediately. The Billy bots are hot garbage around loops just like huntress funny enough.....

I remember a match in the last 2v8.
For some reason my killer teammate disconnected (or was disconnected) and I didn't notice it until the end because we completely dominated the match and killed all the survivors. My teammate did a good job until the end and made some kills. I was extremely surprised when I saw the word "bot" behind my teammate in the end screen.
So yes, the killer bots that BHVR has in 2v8 are pretty good.
I also don't understand why they don't at least bring these bots into custom games, they are surely good enough for survivor players to practice things like looping and other counterplay3 -
I guess it mostly depends on the killer bot and some need a little bit more work which is probably why Behaviour have still never made killer bots more available. I had a Legion bot that respected pallets in Frenzy which made it really interesting

I really hoping they do bring k bots into customs sooner rather than later for that reason - there is so much to learn especially for newer players.
What killer was the bot teammate and what killer were you playing as?
