Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why does 2v8 feel impossible to escape now?

The main reason it was so fun in the past was that it felt like you had a fair chance of escaping with the 45% escape rate. Wouldn't surprise me if the escape rate this iteration is 30%.

it's mostly because we're back to 2 bots but also because legion is very OP due to stunning out of frenzy being glitchy af

this AM when it was 2v7+1 the games were competitive. back to 2v6+2 now for whatever reason and getting curb stomped again

it is way harder to pass the trials as survivor then before. I like it to be honest.

I think it is something with these new killer classes.

I constantly get Weskers or Nemesis with no terror radius… combined with a lot of aura reading :-(

Also Legion is super annoying as always.

Also i think the Bots should be anonym. No "Bot" sign to show killers.

2V8 definitely feels sweatier than the main game at times, with all the Blights, Billys, Nurses, Spirits and Weskers flying about the map. I think I've faced more of these guys in a few days of 2V8 than I would in a whole month of playing DBD.

I find trials are usually an overwhelming victory for one side or the other, with very wide disparities on the skill levels of your opponents and teammates, which leads me to believe the mode has no functional match making whatsoever (like, even less so than in 1V4). I've had both Killer and Survivor games that have been total stomps. Not that this would matter at all if the Killer queue times were below 5 minutes, but sadly they're not.

It's meant to be a relatively chill break from regular DBD, but it sure doesn't feel that way to me a lot of the time.

I don't know, the last couple of times I was escaping like 2/3 of the time, this time it's been like half the time. So while the bots and new classes have had an impact in my games, I definitely feel like its pretty easy to escape, at least compared to 1v4.

The bots aren't helping. They can take a long time to do basic actions, they have no game sense, and killers will usually ignore them because the one thing they can do is loop okay.

On top of that, I think the killer players are figuring out more how to play the mode. For all the talk about survivor sided, this was a completely new mode for killers, with the need for new strategies and focus. The changes to strategies for survivors have been less extreme. As killers begin to get a hang on what they should and should not be doing, I think it will feel more like 1v4 in terms of balancing.

The more bots in the match the less chance you'll escape honestly. This mode was and still is extremely Survivor sided when the Survivors are even just decent. Generators go too fast for most Killer team combinations. Blight/Nurse can usually beat it all, but it's Blight and Nurse, so that shouldn't surprise anybody.

If they remove the bot indicator then the bot needs to lose its wallhack. The primary reason why the bots are signified to the killers is so you don't waste time looping a nearly uncatchable AI that can see what you're doing regardless of its chosen class

The game is very unbalanced, duh. It's never felt fair as survivor, ever. There's also a lot of killers playing together and there's no winning against two killers that are coordinated. Double tapping is the cheesiest thing with no counterplay.

Even with the bots, I've been escaping more often than I've been dying.

The escape is really high actually and has been since the second variation. idk where bros getting 30% from when survivors only gotten better

I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference in my escape rate

Because of legion. He can easily keep the entire lobby injured so teammates like blight, wraith or spirit can quickly clean up all the injured survivors.

except for the fact that it...isn't really a problem. My teammates and me average on 6 escapes per match and balance isn't problem for survivor side at all, in fact it's still survivor sided.

The problem is that survivor role in 2v8 offers literally nothing new compared to 1v4 + addition of Legion just makes it a huge snooze fest because whole match ypu are playing against Legion never engaging a single chase.

You can't escape because you don't do gens, 8 players but only 2 are ever doing gens.

all iterations have come increasingly difficult to escape as killers have realised hanging up to tunnel and is a quick and rewarding strategy.

This is the correct answer. Most survivors refuse to do gens. You can’t ignore your main objective and then whine that you didn’t win!
