WHEN ARE WE CONSOLE PLAYERS, GOING TO BE ABLE TO OPT OUT FROM THE PC CHEATERS & ACTUALLY GET A GAME?
I'm done playing with PC cheats who augment their guys. Also, the Killers have such a huge advantage. Whose bright idea was it to place a multiple skill check on healing and gives you Broken for a minute. I don't know if you know but a full minute is a good chunk of a game and sometimes its multiples of that. I play both ways and Killer is so easy, it is boring. You can't have a game with 7 Survivors for every 100 Killers but that seems to be your objective.

I think OP wants the option just to turn off PC Crossplay. In other words, they want an option that allows Playstation, Switch and XBOX to be able to play together without PC players and unfortunately turning off Crossplay isolates you from all other platforms, not just the one they wish to avoid.

If you say killer is easy you had the wrong survivors yet, wait a while and see your gens say goodbye in a few minutes.
Also you're able to deactivate crossplay anytime, no one's forcing you to have it activated.

Yes but it excludes everyone except your system. It is actually more fair to play console on console than console PC in general.

Cheaters can just insert themselves into your lobby anyways, doesn't matter if crossplay is on or not.

it is indeed more fair, but I’d rather have less time waiting to play than actually playing. Allowing crossplay helps a lot I’m sure with match finding. I’ve turned off cross play before and my god trying to find a match was atrocious wait times. I picked my poison, they can pick theirs, at least they know the option is there now and for them to choose.

You can already opt out, in the main menu under options you can turn off crossplay. It won't stop PC cheaters though if they feel like messing with a lobby that doesn't want to play with/against PC players. Before crossplay was a thing I would get PC cheaters in my PS lobbies - they'd be wearing skins that were PC only.

Yes KILLER FOR ME IS EASY. I PLAY EVERY ONE OF THEM BUT RARELY PLAY NURSE, BLIGHT and TCM Killer. I hate using chainsaws because I feel like it's cheating. I am very good with Killers many dont like, like Pin Head and The Twins. My go to's are Clown, Chatterer, Huntress, and Onryo. I was the worst Killer so for me to be more than good, proves it's easy and I've seen the progression over 6 years to where Survivor was easier to where it's impossible against a Killer who's fairly new and wants to kill.
Have you EVER, SEEN A CONSOLE KILLER, FLOAT IN THE AIR, OR KILL EVERYBODY IN 15 SECONDS OR INVISIBLY GRABBED YOU AND THREW YOU ON A HOOK IN A MILLISECOND? That's just a few I mentioned of the more memorable ones, IT IS CALLED EXPLOITS. CONSOLE PLAYERS CANT DO THIS, atleast not on Xbox. ON OLD STRODE REALTY, I HAD A KILLER DRAG ME OVER THE ROOFTOPS LIKE I WAS IN THE MOVIE DRAG ME TO HELL. PC PLAYERS ARE THE ONLY EXPLOITERS AFAIK.

Oh really? Well my awnser was under the assumption that only steam, microsoft and epic are cut (I also thought, on pc it would only cut xbox, playstation and switch. But I guess you're steam-only then too as excample). In that case I see the problem, and yes, it should probably just have toggles or an console only option to choose from what you play with.

I personally don't have a PC. I played 5000 hours on Switch, then cross-progressed to PS5.
Hopefully OP will clarify what they meant as perhaps the post could be viewed differently by different players.

I also would love an option for console only crossplay. It's not lost on me that everytime I go against a survivor that's impossible to catch (perfect pathing always, wins every 50/50, etc.) they're NEVER on console. It's always clearly the name of someone on Steam/Epic or they have a private Steam profile

Nothing against you, but how did you play 5k hours on switch? I played a few hours on it and it's absolutely awful, with that I don't even mean the controlls that feel even more horrible than other controllers, but the performance that's super laggy (maybe I just played on a bad patch where it was very bad, but I don't know) xD
Well to get back to the post: yes that would be good, I genuinely didn't know that crossplay works like this and I don't even know who thought about this as a good idea. Of course you'd only want your kind of divice and not all plattform except yours in general, that's way to specific xD

Switch was all I had. I've always been a loyal Nintendo guy and nothing on the other consoles interested me at all at the time.

I see, sadly it's pretty much the other way around on my side. Except splatoon, pokemon and zelda there's nothing that interests me on nintendo consoles, or better it would interest me, if it would cost more than pc-games most of the time xD

Actually it's an even smaller pool than that. It's only those on your platform that ALSO have crossplay turned off.
That said, unless you are a big name streamer, it's unlikely very many of your matches are actually against cheaters/hackers. Even smaller streamers don't get them nearly as often, and if you are not a streamer at all, then it's very rare. Usually hackers tend to want an audience and to watch the world burn, so they use their hacking to target streamers that can give them that audience and allow them to 'ruin" a streamer's day/night.3 -
First of all you can turn off crossplay, so there's that. And also, raging about Killers having such a "big advantage" because you can't hit skillchecks is an own goal.

Turning off CrossPlay isolates you from every other platform out there, as well as your own if they have CrossPlay still on, as most do. This extends queue times horribly, it can take 45min or more to find a match even at peak times in your region.
It works like this: Say you're on a PS4. You toggle CrossPlay off. Now you cannot matchmake with anyone who has it still on no matter their platform, including your own. You'd only get a lobby with those also only on a PS4 who ALSO have CrossPlay turned off. Small pool indeed.

Actually there are more subtle hackers than you think. There are swarms of people that admit it on other pages. While yes there is the obvious ones there some that are just subtle so they won't get caught. There are even forums selling a monthly subscription to get the hacks. I agree the massive obvious ones are few and far between but as of late I have encountered way more than I used to. One even backfired they had that snake one and I hit them at the gate and they teleported in the middle of the map 😆.

On a side note I really think BHVr needs to invest more in stabilizing the console issues. Someone also mentioned that a massive health update before FNAF. My thing here is yes that would be good, but this is a totally different demographic than they usually target. Most will have consoles and not computers. Overall improvements made to consoles across the board would be extremely helpful. This could be an untapped goldmine for them. However if they don't improvement the functions BHVr will more than likely face the coalition of angry moms.

Maybe, maybe not. That's the real issue, you can never truly know. I could say I get 4 hackers in every lobby when i play killer. I am so good at Pig especially, anytime a survivor is faster than me, they must be speed hacking. Generators being finished a bit too fast? They must be hacking.
Really, what BHVR needs to do IMO is get rid of EAC and get a better way to combat cheaters.2 -
I have actually caught a gen speed hacker while I was survivor. They finished the gen in 40 seconds and they only did two. At first I went through all the possibilities. I run deja vu so I compared the second gen time. This person also had no gen perks or toolboxes they brought in.
I also reserve my judgment as killer because usually the first 3 gens fly but the last two are the ones that I get the most hooks or kills. If something did feel off I always check the perks. More often they make sense but sometimes they don't.

Right, I am not saying it doesn't happen, just not nearly as much as we might think it does… or maybe every game includes a subtle cheater. It's theoretically possible, though I doubt that to be the case.

There are pros and cons to playing on either platform.
my only issue is certain killers are better designed for m&k play vs controller. If you’ve ever tried playing Blight on controller it feels awful.0 -

Yes and no. Don't get me wrong, I don't think OP is right, but turning off crossplay doesn't just make it so you can only play with people on the same platform. For some reason, you can only match with people on the same platform who also have crossplay turned off.

In plain language, it was simply implemented sloppily, let's not beat around the bush.
Feng skins have priority, there are enough people who don't think twice and are happy to spend their money on them quickly.
Cheat protection is not available in DBD and as you can see from the new "health chapter" roadmap, it's still not a priority.
Those are the hard facts, my friends.

Hats off to you. I've played a few hours on Switch and found it incredibly difficult due to the awful joycons and lack of frames.

Couldn't tell you what they meant. Couldn't even tell you how it works. I just know that i've tried turning it off twice just to see what it was like and both times were horrendous que times, and turned it back on expeditiously.

Same thing for killers. I've had two cheating Nurses the past week who teleport onto you, down you, hook you, and you die.
I don't mind playing with PC players, I think they generally play better than console players (my opinion).
So, I don't mind them but the cheating is insane and how they can simply circumvent it by creating new accounts anyways.

also, correct me if I’m wrong but I am pretty sure I heard that turning off cross play also excludes people on your OWN platform too. So if I have DBD in switch playing with cross play OFF then I also won’t be able to play with/against someone else with a Switch who has cross play ON.
I can’t verify that myself but maybe someone can confirm or myth bust this?1 -

yes same with me! Also I almost played DBD exclusively in handheld mode. So much so that I bought a steamdeck to replicate the feel of switch as much as possible lol (thanks to @Moonras2 and @supersonic853 for recommending)

I can only assume that a vast volume of PC killers are psychic. When playing 1v4, I just assume such keen intuition is aura reading perks. In 2v8, one is told when their aura is showing and when it isn't.

This is in my games about half the time in 2v8 against PC killers. If it was isolated incidents, I could overlook it but it isn't.

I have been playing 8 years and I can immediately tell if the killer/survivor is PC or console, simply based on how they move. Pretty much a guaranteed loss for console but not always, just most of the time.

I can only imagine what the 2v8 experience is like for anyone who has cross-play disabled on Nintendo Switch! In all seriousness there may not be 8 survivor players in to make a game let alone killers queuing!

Put simply, PlayStation players who have crossplay turned off can only match with other PlayStation Players who also have crossplay turned off.
I once waited 3 hours in queue to see if I could get a match. I got one other survivor, and that was it.

It's not viable because it puts you in a platform-only queue of other opt-outs. Instead, we need console-only cross-play, which excludes PC from the pool.

I like 2v8, especially as Killer except for the wait times or when you have the other Killer just standing there. It really pisses me off to wait all that time for a game and then its a ruined one because of an absent Killer and THAT should be easier to report because I'm not wasting 30 mins or more to do it proproperly and then you have to follow up. NO! We should be able to report an Absent Killer or afk Killers and BHVR should look at the score and if the Killer stood doing nothing all game, his score should reflect that and they should get a suspension from 2v8 play for a awhile
