Do something about the graphics
I played a couple of games as killer last night and there are spots in open maps like MacMillan Estate where you can’t see ANYTHING. It’s both the lightning and the resolution. People crouched right next to a tree and they were invisible to the eye. I knew someone was there because I saw them running that way but when I got to the spot, nothing. I circled around the trees and rocks until I found Jake because he moved. Hooked them and 10 secs later they were saved by a Blendette. She was harder to find indeed. If that’s the case with open areas I don’t even want to imagine what it is like in The Game or in Badham’s or Haddonfield’s basements.
I have been mostly playing survivor lately and I decided to play killer because I needed to do some dailies, but really? Do killers really need to go thru all that eye strain to find someone? Because, honestly, they just disappeared in front of me.
So please, do something about this. You lowered the overall resolution to improve performance. Survivors don’t care about resolution, but killers do. You’re not improving the game here, you’re killing it for one side.

Yh I know what you mean, for some reason basements and some rooms are specially dark too. I have my monitor's brightness at max for this kind of situations :)

Sounds like you didn't buy the copy of DBD that came with the "Behaviour Recommended Pre-Calibrated PC Monitor". Behaviour wanted to be the first developer that required your to buy and play on their monitor but I don't think enough copies of that edition shipped because this is a common complaint. Matter of fact, they were so confident everyone would buy their "Pre-Calibrated PC Monitor Edition" that they just plain left out basic display settings within their game!
Don't worry, if you are one of the many other people who aren't using the same monitor that the DBD graphic developers are using and intended you to play on, have no fear. You can typically adjust brightness and gamma settings within your monitor or graphics card control panel. The control panel is preferred as you can create a profile and have it apply only when DBD is running.

The fact that we dont even have basic graphic settings like gamma, or V-Sync ingame probably means that things like that will never be fixed.
Like the person above said, developers most likely assumed everyone's monitor is the same.

I am playing on 4K monitor and this game is running in full HD no matter what:
IF you play a killer you can move you cursor out of windows and then your mouse muse buttons don't work. First time reported 03/2017.
Or you can force to run the game in 4K but the game UI size is from Full HD.
Not bad in 2019.

I suggested a perk a while ago that would help with this kind of situation... along with a few others that is...
The one I'm referring to is "At Dawn They Fall"

While we’re on the topic, let’s talk auras! As killer, hook and generator auras have become very faint since the update.
Patrolling gens is harder when I can’t see distant ones. There have been times that I hear the gen before I see it.
When carrying survivors, I waste too much time spinning around to find a hook. On more than one occasion I’ve walked toward a gen instead of a hook because all I can see is the tall vertical pole part.
Now it’s worth mentioning that “colored in” character auras (like when you use Bitter Murmer) glow like a Christmas tree! The trouble just seems to be the red “outline” auras of gens and hooks.
Anyone else having this problem?

another solution is to put the graphics settings to "low" in the menu. It become a lot brighter. check it out.

What i have also noticed is that rendering of background items or building. like it's not smooth but still rendering when you're running around. This was not the case before the graphic update. Did anyone notice this too?

Auras are especially bad on the mt ormond map. It really needs a fix asap.

I play on Xbox and the graphics are garbage now. It's way too dark and blurry. It hurts my eyes.

Yeah, I never mentioned I’m on PS4

Ok, I should update my complaint as it was made prematurely. Auras are okay for the most part. The problem is Mount Ormond! I can barely make out gens, hooks, or even my hex totem! Playing on PS4 btw.
