Why does BHVR do so little about hackers?
I recently played as killer against a fairly obvious hacker, they moved at way to fast speeds, blinded me through walls across the map, practically teleported sometimes, etc… Even Survivors in end game chat agreed that they were hacking. Now, hackers exist in all games, luckily I have not come across a insta kill Nurse so far, but what bothers is me that BHVR doesn't seem to do much against hackers.
Like, the hacker I mentioned they were on Steam and they had comments mentioning they were a hacker reaching back into last year. And in the mean time BHVR did nothing about that. This person has been hacking and has been reported for months, and they were still allowed to play. This has been an issue for a while, over 2 years ago Hens made a video called "Blatant Cheaters Are Not Getting Banned" where he encountered hackers and reported them and BHVR didn't ban them.
The game has fairly bad anti-cheat compared to other games, which could come back from the bad base code this game had, when it was a casual indie game. But then why do you allow hackers to create infinite free accounts by making the game free from time to time and putting it on XBox Game Pass.
I watch a lot of DBD Youtube and Twitch, and apparently there DBD content creators that explicitly hack, something that I have never seen with any other game, even when I was invested in them like I am in DBD now. Like for example when I searched for the Hens video above, I got such a video shown to me which had over 300 views in under one day. Not much by normal content creator standards, but it still means there is a sizeable community of open DBD hackers. And BHVR seems to be fine with that.
BHVR claims to look at ingame reports to, but I have never seen them respond to them, only when you create a ticket and provide video evidence I have seen them do something about it. And creating a ticket means leaving the game and going through a whole process, and if you missed even a detail of information in the lobby you can't do that anymore.
The Qualtiy of Life updates are coming and I hoped it would do something. Originally I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt for not mentioning anti cheat. "Oh, they just don't want to talk about it so the hackers don't prepare for it." But if they ever updated anti-cheat in the past, that mean hackers know to expect it at updates if it wasn't mentioned anyway, so if this were a planned feature, why not mention it.
So why does BHVR care so little about hackers? They don't bring in money because they use accounts that were gotten for free. I guess the many videos people make about it bring the game attention, but idk, I don't believe in "all attention is positive attention", so I don't think thats it. I really have no idea why BHVR is so lax regarding leaks and hackers compared to other companies.
TLDR. BHVR (as a company) reguarly does not ban obvious hackers, has bad anti-cheat with seemingly little to no plans to update it, gives hackers the game for free, tolerates an active community of hackers, and does not look at most reports. And I have no idea why.

I think the simple answer is that it’s not a big enough problem for BHVR to invest a ton of resources in. For me personally, I have not seen an obvious cheater in a very long time. Unless people start leaving the game in large numbers (which is not happening), from a business perspective there’s no reason for BHVR to invest a bunch of resources into a problem that is not widespread.

I suspect there are actually an obscene amount of subtle cheaters. Like people wall hacking, MFT like speed increase and a little extra Gen speed. I know when I play against some of these "juicers" on PC they literally never mess up a chase

Their anti-cheat is bad. That's basically all you need to know.
