Yes you should investing time into the game as long as you're enjoying yourself. If not, of course you are not obligated to play. There's a running meme in the community from a BHVR head where he encourages you to play something else if you're not happy with it.
With that being said, it's just a thing where you play a couple games that are fairly chill and casual with killer/survivor match ups you don't mind, then after a little success the game throws you some people who you could swear are playing for 20k.
