I've made some Lore-based builds for killers, any feedback would be appreciated
(I don't know if this subforum or general discussion would be better to post this)
I'd include pictures for better readability, but it's going to be a wall of a post even without them. Thank you to those who provided feedback in the past, and if anyone has any thoughts, feedback, or a build of your own that you'd like to share (Killer or Survivor), I'd love to hear them!
EXECUTIONER: [Enduring - Dark Devotion - Hex: Wretched Fate - Rancor]
-Idea is that the Obsession becomes the "James" of the match. However, you aren't tunneling him: You're trying to isolate him from the "distractions" (other survivors) keeping "James" from accepting the truth, clearing them away over the course of the match. If that fails and there's any remaining when the generators are complete, you have to punish "James" for his guilt with a Rancor Mori. (Alternative perks: Play With Your Food - Dying Light - Deathbound )
GHOST FACE: [Surveillance - Zanshin Tactics - Lethal Pursuer - Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance]
-Ghost Face is a very meticulous and subtle killer; he stalks his targets, learns the layout of their homes, and plans out his "designs" days if not weeks in advance. He's very particular about how he wants his "design" to go, and may even abandon it for the moment if its not just right. More importantly, he writes about his kills in his news articles as real life horror stories. He wants people to KNOW his work, for it to strike a chord and terrify his "audience". (Alternative perks: Remember Me - Bamboozle - 'Obsession' based perks might make sense)
EDIT: Replacing Agitation with Lethal Pursuer. I figure it would work for the same reason as Zanshin Tactics: He would stalk his targets and learn their schedules, habits, and routines. If he's casing the place ahead of time for Zanshin, then he'd learn enough about the survivors to know where they'd start at. Plus, even though this build doesn't run a lot of aura, you could argue that knowing their habits would give him better tracking for the aura extension)
DREDGE: [Hex: Face the Darkness - Darkness Revealed - Friends 'til the End - Iron Maiden]
-Dredge is the Druanee, the Boogeyman of the Garden of Joy. Survivors should never feel safe against the Dredge; it could appear at any time, from anywhere, and the slightest misstep could give themselves away. And while they are right to fear the Dredge, that fear also draws the Dredge ever closer to them. (Alternative perks: Ultimate Weapon - Barbeque & Chili)
EDIT:
ONI: [Sloppy Butcher - Nemesis - Rancor - Forced Penance]
-Kazan is defined by his anger. He takes offense to any perceived slight, and holds deep grudges. For his victims, he will mutilate and brutalize, leaving their bloody corpses as warnings to anyone else who'd cross him. What Kazan hates most are the "False Samurai", Peasants who play at being warriors. For them, he gives no mercy. (Alternative perks: Brutal Strength - Hubris - Mad Grit)
EDIT: I've switched Rancor and Brutal Strength. I feel like Rancor is one of those perks that you could feasibly run on most lore builds, so I'm a bit hesitant to add it without a good reason. That being said, I thought about it more and Kazan does have better reason than most, being his descendant's perk, and paired with his own Nemesis, it's building up a grudge from the 'insult', that you act out at the end in a brutal fashion.
PLAGUE: [Whispers - Corrupt Intervention - Hex: Blood Favor - Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine]
-I don't have a lot to talk about with this one: Plague worships the Entity, she'd hear its voice, make prayers for its assistance, draw blood to gain its favor, and set up a shrine in its honor. (Alternative perks: about any perk that "summon the entity" in some way would make sense)
UNKNOWN: [Mindbreaker - Insidious - Monitor & Abuse - Dragon's Grip]
-Although it is an enigma, there are some things we can gleam from its actions. 1) It prefers using deception and subtlety to lure its victims into a false sense of security. 2) People who try to investigate the Unknown become hunted by the Unknown. 3) The Unknown's victims disappear without a trace. (Alternative perks: Knock Out - Deathbound - Alien Instinct - other perks that grant 'Undetectable')
EDIT: I'd like to add that I like using Victim's Map in particular with this build: Showing the location of Survivors that successfully "stare down the unknown" is SUPER fitting, and I'd almost consider it as important as any perk. I also think you could work with a lot of different perks on Unknown, especially if you subscribe to the theory of "Unknown is a Formless Void that takes on the qualities of whatever people believe it to be".
SINGULARITY: [Batteries Included - Machine Learning - Gear Head - Fire Up]
-Hux's cybernetic body gives him a unique advantage, able to siphon power from completed generators for his own ends, and an innate awareness onto the status of their repairs. As the match goes on, Hux acquires more data on the survivors and his surroundings, becoming more and more effective as he learns and adapts. (Alternative perks: Tinkerer - Surveillance - Discordance - Hex: No One Escapes Death)
CANNIBAL: [Territorial Imperative - Fire Up - Iron Grasp - Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine]
-More than most killers, Bubba DOES NOT want his prey to escape: in his mind, if an "outsider" manages to get away, they could call for help and bring back more trouble to his home and family. He has to protect his home (or basement in this case), and keep his victims down there so no one can find them. (Alternative perks: Hoarder - Agitation - Knock Out)
NEMESIS: [Enduring - Game Afoot - Friends 'til the End - Thwack!]
-The unstoppable juggernaut who will pursue his target until the end, no matter who or what gets in the way. Nothing really slows him down, and any minor setback or obstacle he will rush through at full speed. And once one target is eliminated, he simply moves to the next one on his list. (Alternative perks: Spirit Fury - Fire Up - Brutal Strength)
EDIT: Unfortunately, Game Afoot seems to be bugged and doesn't get procced on the Tentacle break. I think it's a bug, because Thwack will proc its scream from the break, just not provide the haste. I wanted the perk for the reason of "These obstacles aren't slowing it down in the slightest", so I hope it gets fixed soon enough.
PIG: [Make Your Choice - Dead Man's Switch - Forced Penance - No Way Out]
-(I don't know as much about Saw, so this one probably needs work). Setting up traps and forcing survivors to decide if saving someone else's life is worth risking their own. But in the end, the Pig doesn't really think anyone should be allowed to escape anyway.
NIGHTMARE: [Cruel Limits - Dominance - Hex: Face the Darkness - Mindbreaker]
-The Dream World is Freddy's domain, and he has complete control. It makes sense to me that he would have big map-wide effects that shut down survivor's ability to escape or run. Exhausting survivors also plays into the "sleep" aspect in my eyes. Freddy also depends on people knowing and fearing him in order to maintain his power, so perks that cause screaming also makes sense to me. (Alternative perks: Deathbound - Infectious Fright - Hex: Crowd Control)
DARK LORD: [Bloodhound - Hex: Undying - Dominance - Hex: Devour Hope]
-Naturally as a vampire, Dracula can easily smell blood. More importantly, the trial grounds, and by extension their totems, can act as an extension of his Castle (since it appears in the skyboxes of most trials when he's in the game). Dracula is always being resurrected, and his utter contempt of humanity drives him. (Alternative perks: Hex: Ruin - Hex: Retribution - Hex: Haunted Ground - Hex: No One Escapes Death)
XENOMORPH: [Bloodhound - Stridor - I'm All Ears - Spies in the Shadows]
-I don't have a lot to say for this one, the Aliens franchise is another blind spot for me, so this probably needs more refining. But the Alien is an apex predator with enhanced senses to track down its prey. It can follow up on any little noise or disturbance, so when it finds its prey, it's near impossible them to lose it. (Alternative perks: Predator, Territorial Imperative, Whispers maybe?)
LEGION: [Bamboozle - Unbound - Franklin's Demise - Coup de Grace]
-Compared to most other killers, the Legion's power comes from their agility and sheer manic energy, rather than raw strength or supernatural abilities. They began as simple miscreants and petty thieves, up until their crimes escalated into murder. (Alternative perks: Unrelenting, Dark Arrogance)

This may just be me but for Ghosty, I feel it makes sense to replace Agi for Hex : Friends 'Til The End. He stalks his targets and knows where they are always, it may seem redundant on an insta-down killer but for lore accurate perks, this feels right.
Also, I feel that for Legion, I feel STBFL would be good, showing their enthusiasm I guess you could see, getting more excited and speeding up with each hit, that may not be universal but that's my feedback, everything else I think you hit the nail on the head.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I haven't updated a lot of these particular builds recently, but I did change up Ghost Face's, replacing Agitation for Lethal Pursuer. I figured it would fit him for the same reasoning I used behind Zanshin Tactics. He would stalk his targets, learn their routines, habits, schedules, everything, so it would make sense that, if he's casing the place ahead of time for Zanshin's effect, he would also know exactly where the survivors start the trial at, and maybe from knowing their habits, have a better time at tracking them (even though I only have exactly one other aura reveal in Zanshin's pallet drop reveal).
I think that's a pretty solid reason for Legion! Like I said, they mostly have agility and manic energy going for them, and they already get a speed boost from Frenzy slashes, so getting the extra attack speed as well (even after the "rush" of the Feral Frenzy has worn off) makes a lot of sense to me. EDIT: Although apparently you don't get stacks from Feral Frenzy slashes. Still may be worth considering for the lore/thematic, even if it'd be clunky gameplay wise

I've got a few other builds I've worked on since I put up the original post. I'm not quite as settled on them, so I'd definitely appreciate more feedback if you don't mind. (These are going to be a lot longer than the ones in the main post, I'm doing a lot more explaining of my reasoning)
WRAITH: [Human Greed - Hex: Ruin - Hex: Third Seal - Hex: Pentimento]-Wraith was tricky to start with, and I feel like I'm stretching some of my choices. Human Greed Because his life experience has him utterly despise "Men who kill for money", though I feel like there should be a better option in punishing "greedy" survivors (Franklin's maybe?). Beyond that, Philip's life is just kind of cursed, where people die because of him, even if he didn't mean for it to happen (Accidentally letting mercenaries sneak into his village, and the victims of the car crusher). Hex Ruin was the closest I could get to representing this (Since there's not an "accidentally injure survivors" perk, the perk that sets them back and damages machinery without you actively doing anything). Hex Third Seal refers to his Tome Story "Algebra of Infinite Night", and the phrase used to try to convince Philip to let go of his anger ("An eye for an eye makes the world blind and plunges it into infinite night"), and how that doesn't work out for him. And lastly, Hex Pentimento is a stretch, but it's meant to refer to how he moved to America to try to rebuild his life, and move on from his past, but just ended up turning into an unwitting executioner: Trading one tragedy for another.
CENOBITE: [Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain - Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance - Trail of Torment - Hex: Two Can Play]
-I don't know much about Hellraiser, but I'm pretty sure Cenobites like Pain, Pain, Tormenting Pain, and the giving and recieving of pain. I wanted to use Two Can Play specifically, because I think out of all killers, Pinhead would be the one that'd actually appreciate getting a pallet dropped on him. In a sort of "Thank you for giving me this sensation, now let me share one with you" kind of way. That being said, I don't know enough about Hellraiser to say if this would make a good build for the character.TRICKSTER: [Lightborn - Ultimate Weapon - Hex: Face the Darkness - Bamboozle]
-Another one where I don't know the character super well, so if I'm on the wrong track feel free to call me out, but I feel like I may at least have a good idea in mind. Lightborn is a must; Trickster was on stage all the time, and I'd imagine that Flashlights and Flash Bangs would be no different than stage lights and camera flashes for him. For Ultimate Weapon and Face the Darkness, Trickster was enamored with screams, and would torture his victims to hear their screams and mix them into his music. The names don't fit very well, but I think the effects are something to consider: Ultimate Weapon making nearby survivors scream after opening a locker to me says "He is now prepared, and his 'audience' awaits", while Face the Darkness targeting survivors outside of Trickster's terror radius, in a way he's punishing them for "Not giving him attention". And Bamboozle, it's not 'bad' on him, there probably could be better, but he would be more agile than most killers, and he would trap his victims to keep them from escaping. Plus the name of the perk literally means "To trick someone".SPIRIT: [Hubris - Rapid Brutality - Whispers - (…) ]
-Yeah I'm having a hard time settling on a fourth perk for her at the moment. Overall, I want to focus more on her Anger, especially compared to her ancestor's. Kazan's anger was a very constant, all deep seated thing with long held grudges at any slight against him, whereas Rin's anger is more explosive; it boils below the surface mostly unseen, and comes out all at once. From there is where I decided to go with Hubris (The window of Exposure it applies feels more like a sudden, extreme lashing out, compared to Oni's Nemesis) and Rapid Brutality. Whispers, even though I think I'm starting to overuse the perk, fits with Rin's story a lot, as it was the Entity's whispers that drove her father to madness, and later those same Whispers would make an offer to Rin when she was chosen to be the killer instead. And like I said, having a hard time settling on a final perk. Basically BHVR needs to make more "Angry" or "Revenge" perks, we've only got like 4-5, and we have alot of killers motivated by their anger.BLIGHT: [Agitation - Whispers - Endurance - Dark Arrogance]
-Blight is very much in the "work in progress" phase, but I figured I'd share what I have to get some second opinions. The theme I wanted to go with, was to emphasize Talbot's addiction to the Pustula Flower, and how he's degraded into little more than a starving beast, willing to do ANYTHING for his "fix". Agitation is the main one I'm sold on for the moment: Talbot wants his fix ASAP, and he has been told he can get more Flowers from killing survivors. On that note, Whispers is another one I'm mostly sold on, but could be convinced to replace with something else: Talbot's story has him directly hearing the Entity inviting him into the realm, and later instructing Talbot to kill in order to get more flowers, so he is directly being egged on to kill.-The other two perks need some explaining, and I'm not super sold on them at the moment. For Enduring, I figured in Talbot's addicted state, he'd be shrugging off pain much more than other killers in his mad rush to get more 'flowers', and not to mention in the past he worked on Poppy and Opioids, known for their painkilling properties (I don't know if the Pustula serum has that effect or not, however). That being said, I usually reserve Enduring for characters with supernatural levels of endurance like Pyramid Head or Nemesis. Dark Arrogance is kind of my compromise there, having him be more enduring-but-not-as-much, plus the added bonus of the increase vault speed (Again, he's become more animalistic in his addicted state), and making him more vulnerable to light (Which I think can be a sign of drug addiction or withdrawal. If nothing else it again makes him more animalistic). Like I said, those last two I'm still not sold on, at the moment

Oh yeah, huh, I always forget that Feral Frenzy hits aren't considered basic attacks.
For Wraith, I think you hit the nail on the head with that one, it fits him perfectly to me.
As for Cenobite, I don't know enough either, though I know that in the movie Cenobites are former humans turned monsters who harvest souls of humans to torture them through sadistic experiments, I, however, don't really know anything besides that.
For Trickster, same as yourself, I also don't know much about Trickster but I think instead of Bam, go with Enduring. He is fueled by attention and drama and is obsessed with performance, he won't let obstacles get in his way if it means having the spotlight on him.
Maybe it might just be me but I think that NOED would fit not too bad, exit gates are powdered yet not opened, all gens done, anger overcomes her, downing everybody with one hit, showing her fury possibly? Or even her own perk of Hex : Haunted Ground would fit.
I like where you are going with for Blight, however, I feel you should replace Dark Arrogance for Bam. Bam may not be as fast yet it blocks the window, it allows him to quickly vault, fitting into your beast part but also blocking off the window for anybody unexpecting of it, thought Dark Arrogance isn't bad; I just thought maybe Bam might be a tad bit better.
