It's pretty hard to play (almost) all Killers equally
This is just something I noticed and wonder if there are more people who feel the same way.
I am type of Killer player who doesn't rly have a main (I have some that I play more than others ofc) but I usualy try to rotate majority of killers. But since we have like ~40 of them allready and each match takes like 15 min with que time included… unless you just play DbD all your free time and you have decent ammout of free time, I feel like I can't even play every killer I want within a week.
I also noticed I sometimes forget killers I even like… Like "oh wait Artist exists… why I didn't play her for like long time now? I kinda like her…" things like these. Feels like on avarage rotation it takes like 1-2 max games with the same killer per week/two weeks.

When you look at the pick rates of killers there's some that are rarely played across the player base like Hag, Twins, Artist, Trickster etc.
I don't think it's because of time constraints or even strength issues. It's because they're just not fun for most.

I usually play the same 10 or so killers as a good few are awful to play on console.
This is definitely a time decision. If I'm only playing 30 minutes or so most times I don't want that to be 30 minutes of misery.
If I've got time then I'll invest it learning a new killer like I diid with huntress. Couldn't hit a cow at 5 feet before I practiced her. Now I can hit said cow at 8 feet 🤣
But the daily challenges normally let me play a killer I don't ever use - I'm looking at you nurse and blight.

Use a randomizer, it helps a lot

Agreed, this is what I will do. I also like to try to play the whole roster at a competent level. I'll randomize the killer then make a build from the add-on or perks randomization. Not full random, but just a little push to try to make a unique or synergistic build

Unless you're on a killer rotation, you kind of get used to playing the same 3-5 killers. That's where I'm at, unless I get a daily, because in that case I play Doctor or Skull Merchant, or whoever, the best I can and be done with it. I think I'm really efficient with quite a few of them, but there's just some that I like playing more. Gotta play Unknown at least once when I get on.

Yh its just different times. I started 2018 and it was really easy then. After i had every perk i started to level every killer to prestige 3. And bc offerings got deleted with prestige, i always used every killer.
Now i dont even invest time into new killer, bc there are many other killer i didnt play for a long time.
But it also has some upsides:
- im fine with underwhelming killer bc there are so many killer to play (even with similar playstyles), so its ok to have killer who cant compete against good survivor
- I always have "new" content bc i just cant keep up
- its really great to meet another main of a niche killer, feels kinda special
But missing out on interesting killer is a bummer. So i started an experiment:
I play ever killer 5-time, track the results and how much fun i had. With that i will decide which killer i want to play more besides my 8-10 mains.

I also play the whole roster evenly. But my 2 mains are 100 xeno and 81 dracula. Though i actualy avoid playing xeno nowadays due to mmr. For example if i jumped on hag and went into a round, id likely get a casual random group. If i jump on xeno im guaranteed almost 90% chance to get gen rushers or an elite swf team. So its like if u play one too much you kinda stop enjoying it, so ive resorted to playing all of them lol.
Also 1v4 during 2v8 ques, i swear its the absolute worst time to play killer in 1v4. I tried to play dracula the other day just to do the new challenges since theres no basment hook in 2v8, wow... i had hardcore swat teams round after round and i mean the ones with glowing legacy skins that u can barely touch and all 4 have flashbangs etc.
