As predicted, the name of the game is: Killers should lose.
A few months ago I made quite a few discussions pointing out the issues within the game, and the reason why slugging, tunneling and camping exist. Clearly we are getting to the point where is just obvious BH wants to improve survivor experience while letting killers suffer from an unbalanced gameplay.
1- When you have players suffering anxiety for playing killer in your game, you might want to take a look into it.
2- When you check out how it works on competitive, where you have top skill players and how it’s necessary to implement rules to nerf survivors and give 95% of your killer roster a fighting chance, you might want to consider balance and current state of things. Every single competitive match requires slugging, camping and tunneling. Not saying is fun, just pointing out there’s a reason.
3- Balancing makes no sense. Specially the latest Xenomorph nerf. A killer by no means considered OP by anyone, gets completely butchered. It’s better to manually cancel your power instead of waiting for the flame to go down. When you increase 15 times the time it takes for flames to start dissipating, that’s just insane and a null understanding of your own game. 15 times. 1500% nerf. Now the heat dissipation went from 25 a second to 2 per second after 15 seconds of waiting. That’s a 92% slower rate. Glitchmaster made the math and for 50 fire to dissipate right now it takes 3 seconds, now it’s going to take 40 seconds. When you nerf something by this much, you simply have no sense of your own game.
4- The second phase is scary just by reading about it. Every single chance you keep nerfing perks and killers while buffing survivor perks. You patch the symptoms instead of the disease and you keep getting more issues one after the next.
5- I think you should just remove pibs and rank from killers all together; make it a number of matches a month to obtain iridescent, try to take the edge off and the will to win. Your philosophy is clearly guided by the majority of complaints of survivors, while neglecting the killers. Just make it so everyone plays casually, only for fun.
6- There are 3 maybe 4 strong killers out of the full roster. Those remain untouched. Either nerf everything to the ground and just make it more fun to play killer and function as a entertainer for survivors and reward that kind of play-style or balance gens and progress to match your killer roster.
Personally I am taking a break from the game and this forum. It’s been disappointing time and time again reading about these changes that make no substantial improvement and just fail to attend the current balance.

1: Survivors "suffer" anxiety to, that's the interesting point of those discussions is that people feel huge levels of stress from different roles.
I put suffer in quotes because that's also the thing that draws people to the game. The feel of the heart pounding, the desire to win, the fear of defeat, are exactly the things a horror game should go for. If it goes too far, players should take a break, something the Devs themselves have said.
2: This is an oversimplification of comp. Survivors get massive boosts compared to the main game. Mainly, knowing the killer they are going to face is an absolute giant nerf to the killer player that people seem to forget about.
They also don't need to give the killer a fighting chance. Both sides get a chance on killer. They could play perkless Trapper and it would still be balanced. Most of their changes are based around styles of play they want to limit (which again I think benefits the survivors by narrowing the game).
Finally, they really should rethink the level of survivor nerfs they've done. I've been watching the Winter Series and the amount of 4ks without gens being finished makes for boring videos.
Also why would a company care more about players who are creating their own rules instead of the base game that BHVR has made and has hundreds of thousands of players?
3: There've been decisions to killers, perks, on both sides over the years that haven't made sense. We'll see how the data shakes out as Alien gets played and what they do with her when it actually gets to live. Using things that haven't even made it to live is a huge reach.
4: We'll see when we get more details.
5: I'm always surprised that people actually pay attention to pips.
6: There is exactly one type of survivor and maybe as many strong builds as there are varieties of strong killer. Not sure why one is deserving of more S tier opportunities than the other.
Personally I am taking a break from the game and this forum. It’s been disappointingThat's fair. I'm more surprised by the people who seem to hate the game, but still put thousands of hours into it.

the name of the game is ‘killers should lose’ even though the amount of killers getting 4ks is arguably consistently higher than it’s ever been.

- If a video game is causing you anxiety…maybe you should play a different game?
- If you think camping is a competitive strategy, you really don’t know how to play competitively
- No, not every “sweaty” game requires slugging and tunnelling.
- It’s ok to lose, it’s just a (non-competitive) game. You’re not gonna win every match.
- seriously, stop camping - any comp…etent swf will just sit on gens and you’ll end up with maybe one kill.
- Good for you to take a break. But you will have much more fun in this game if you just stop taking it seriously.

No point in discussing something this biased.

If you have anxiety playing a video game, its time to take a break. This is called having an addiction, and I know how it feels to be addicted to something and being completely burnt out of it. I have over 3000 hours in For Honor and only a few months ago did I finally drop the game because I realized that I simply wasnt having fun anymore, and because of that I wasnt even playing well.
Just drop the game for now, uninstall it. Step back, play something else, and youll know when/if you feel ready to come back.

Top victim post of the year so far I say.

1 - I am referring to the numerous posts about anxiety. I’m old enough to just don’t care and drop the game if it’s annoying.
2 - Every successful world phenomenon’s game pay attention to what’s possible to achieve at top skill. Most forum is survivor biased. Most adjustments are survivor based… I mean. 2 vs 8 anyone?
3- Going from 3 to 40 seconds or 6 to 80 don’t you think it’s a bit extreme? Considering there are stronger killers out there. That’s just bad game design or lack of game sense.
4- The mentality is clear. Don’t think I need to dig deeper. Have fun and just lose some games, that’s unrewarding to players trying to become better. Killers have a way stepper learning curve to become good just to become worthless because some people think it’s tough to actually learn how they work and how to counter them. The answer is not nerfing them to the ground while they decide what to do. The game is unbalanced against decent survivors. That’s how it is. Specially since some killers are in need of a buff for years and they still get neglected.
5- It would be in accordance to their design mentality.
6- Every gen regression perk got destroyed. That’s a fact. And still they are the most used perks cause it’s impossible to keep up.
I mentioned the break cause I think I’m not alone on this. A lot of players stopped playing because of bad decisions. I don’t care anymore. I tried and when I had the energy to engage all I asked was: Check why those strategies exist. It’s not like anyone is playing with the mentality of annoying players, it’s what began working due the current state of the game. The strategies emerged from gameplay, not from an evil plot to hurt survivor experience.
And we get to the same. Anti killer mentality and more of accusations of being killer main vs survivor main… lame. I play survivor just as much btw, but yeah, DBD became unplayable for me, it’s not fun anymore because of this lack of understating from their own developers. It’s been one miss after the next. Really, Houndmastee is still plagued with bugs, killers needing buffs for years etc. Like I said, I just recommend giving some type of reward to killers to play to lose. I am done for now, don’t want to keep reading same old stuff. See ya.-1 -
I miss the old mmr system. I have screenshots from years ago of when the game actually cared about SBMM. Now you can be a rank survivor up against baby killers. Which is not fair, and vice versa. They need to reimplement SBMM like they used to have if the issue stems from the "competitive" side. It'd be better for games where they can actually learn the game and be rewarded for doing well in matches. You can't even lose pips anymore to keep you around that skill level. It shouldn't discourage users based on rank. The whole point is the play and get better over time by playing the game. Not discourage by putting you against such high level survivors. I have thousands of hours in the game over years of playing, and can consistently reach rank 1, but even I see the reasons why killers are so upset with why the perks are how they are. Just reintegrate SBMM to keep people wanting to play rather than throwing killers in unfair matches. Don't know if this is a hot take or not
