Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I don't understand why they keep giving us hard challenges for example escaping x amount of times or unhooking someone during endgame or getting 2 red emblems etc like I've been trying to get an endgame unhook all I need is one for the past two days of playing approximately 3 hours both times and I can't get it

Just had one against alien and 3 people were on death hook at 5 gens the match before that a wrath tunneled me and my plus one and the match before that we went against an onryo that red ringed someone at 5 gens then killed us all still at 5 gens... I can't get my challenge done because I CANT make it to the endgame and killers keep saying it's survivor sided it's really not.. a teammate literally no lie gets found within mere seconds without lethal pursuer or without even doing ANYTHING but walking to a gen the common theme now is someone getting hooked within a minute into the match it's actually insane.. went against a trapper who had Franklin's demise and weaving atonement along with human greed so he majority of the time seen where we were

I'm expressing some of these matches to show these challenges can be really difficult and I know that's the point of a challenge but I rather not be stuck for an hour+ trying to get it done I have to sweat to barely make it towards the end with just a little bit of hope then have it all crash because my teammates dont know about nurse's calling or BBQ or the killer just straight up camps it's exhausting even getting safe unhooks it's hard to get them because the killer immediately comes back to the hook then tunnels

I'd leave it for now and next time 2v8 is live, do it then. It's one of the many challenges that are much easier to do in that game mode.

Stop worrying about doing the challenge and just play the game normally until an opportunity to complete it arises naturally. Tome challenges are not worth stressing over.

I absolutely agree about the challenges. I’ve made several posts about the disproportionately harder survivor challenges. At least as killer you can be friendly and the survivors will generally let you do ur thing. As survivor you can be chill, change ur name to the challenge, etc and still be hard pressed to get it. The endgame unhook actually took me way longer than the “escape without being downed with spine chill” challenge from tome 1. It’s so incredibly luck based. You have to be lucky for several to survive at that point. Get lucky one gets downed and hooked who isn’t death hook rather than slugged. Get the gate popped and then get lucky that some other team mate didn’t rush the unhook. I hate it so much and I will forever complain about that challenge.

I recently finished every challenge in the game and here is my number 1 tip:

Save the BS grinding and luck based ones for 2v8. Focus entirely on the challenges that require specific perks. I did my iridescent unbroken in 2v8, the “survive while x amount of ppl escape”, and virtually every pain in the ass challenge that didn’t require perks. It’s 1000 times easier in that mode since there is no RNG and it’s casual. The end game unhooks are way better too as ppl generally rush the gate and pop it since no blood warden and you don’t have to worry about camping or NOED.

    my number 2 tip:

Just throw. I have this compulsive obsession with completion so I get the need to get them done. Gotta pallet stun the killer x amount of times in a match? Just chill under a pallet and trade. Gotta get those end game saves? Well if you’re lucky enough to survive and have someone on hook by then, pop that gate and take the hook swap. You’ll die but get it done.
