Another puzzling behaviour I constantly see...

I hear so many people complaining about op killers, op perks, game is killer sided. I have been playing survivor alot recently and I have noticed survivors are often responsible for their loss. They DC, go next, avoid gens, many don't even bring an item and they wonder why they lose. Reason being the killer is equipped and prepared while survivors seem to think they can go into a match with poor perks, no items and not touch a gen and think they can still win then they get salty when they lose. This is from a survivor point of view playing purely soloq survivor the past month.

Generally im a killer main because the key gameplay of survivor can be boring for me (main objective sitting on a gen). But this past month I been pushing to p100 sable. I been bringing an item every match, doing gens, going for saves, not DC or went next at all even when my whole team is bots.

I understand some people are only doing tome challenges and want easy going matches, but im finding a lot of people complain post match about killer tunneling or they bring op perks as a reason for how killer won when these same survivors avoid gens and don't bring any item at all. its these people that clearly want to win and get disappointed when they lose that confuse me when they are not bringing the items designed to help them win and not doing the only objects survivor has (gens).

If they want easy going matches that's fine, I only want BP to put on sable so I don't mind if I win or lose as long as I get a decent amount of BP. But I don't think they can argue the game is killer sided if survivors are not using the tools they have available to win if they want to win. It's like killer going into a match with no perks wanting to win against a swf fully loaded and saying it's survivor sided. I think at some point people need to take responsibility for their own actions or lack of and just acknowledge they lost due to their actions as an individual or as a team and not blame the killer or claim it's killer sided.

Yeah. Most of the time i play survivor i see that the problem lies more on the other survivors than the killer itself. I remember one match were we were almost out - 2 gens left, my gen was 30% and there weren't many hooks - and some random decide to tank for a survivor in the killer should… 3 seconds after the killer picked up the survivor and was right next to a hook. The random was slugged, rage quited, the survivor on the hook killed himself and the killer found the other one. Result: i was the only one left standing, was found and everyone died.

In short: a lot of the current problem on survivor side i see its more caused by lack of info - in SoloQ - or just because your teammates ignore the 1v4 aspects of the game - or they are just plain bad too.

Aside from SoloQ info buffs, i don't see too much is needed to do.

This been happening for both sides. If you want to try a more fun build in killer probably you will lose horribly if the survivors come with a more competitive mindset, and vice-versa. Unfortunately, as this game gets older its been getting more and more competitive, specially because the initial feeling of immersion tends to go away with more time invested in the game.

That the biggest problem in solo queue is other survivors isn't a revolutionary new development (and I think that's mostly down to SBMM being what it is). And then you have people working on tome challenges, which is often tantamount to throwing and results in some seemingly inexplicable behavior. This is all "normal".

It's the solo queue experience, and what you are seeing are evidence of three things that are objectively true:

    1. Most games are solo queue games
    2. Most players are very casual gamers
    3. SBMM throws just about anyone together

So yeah, welcome to solo queue.

Yeah, a lot of killer mains aren't trying to hear that, though.

A lot of killer players can't really wrap their brains around playing sub-optimally because their mindset is built around trying to minimize the risk of losing any given game by going into all of them with the same approach. That's not meant to be a character judgment, but it's just how some people play because they prioritize winning above all.

Speaking for myself when playing killer, I play in a "take it as it comes" way, knowing that while I will lose some games because of that, I will still win most of them because most games are against solo teams, and they're, well, solo teams. I would rather lose a few games here or there than play every game the same way.

I don't see DBD as being a serious game, so I don't take it seriously (most of the time). Many people do, and many people don't. It's one of the reasons this game is so chaotic.

Better than observing these things is asking why.

You dont know why they are:
    DCing
    Or go nexting
    Or avoiding gens
Or crouch hiding in a corner
    Or opening chests/doing dull totems
Or standing still on load up to or even past first hook
    Or refusing your heal
    etc etc etc…

For every bad reason you assume from these things.

I am leaning more on the side there is a good reason, whether experience is a factor or not, for these types of behaviors from survivor players.

How they are treated in game, probably being the number one reason.

Chaos shuffle is rampant with it.

100%, as a solo survivor I blame 99% of my frustration on matchmaking and not the killer being OP.

    I play survivor a lot.

Its almost always the team that throws the match.

A few killers are rough, they are too fast to down during chase combined with map mobility and some built in slow down is a headache.

But the vast majority of matches are tossed by:

Sable sandbagged a 90% gen first chase.

Sable sandbags all the gens on second and third chase.

Nea follows the killer with a flashlight.

Meg kills herself on hook because lethal pursuer.

Someone else is a corner creeper.

This is most soloQ matches now.

So many complaints everywhere saying nurse is op... Loads saying tombstone Myers is op. Loads saying noed is op. Even complaints about regression perks and aura reading perks. Really not hard to find someone complaining about this stuff. It's on Reddit, post game chat and even in these forums very frequently. i haven't played killer in a long time so my experience is indeed from a soloq survivor point of view based on the survivor matches I have had recently :)

I'd play in a lot more fun, chill way more often as killer if I wasn't always rewarded with teabags at the exit gates, getting emoted every time someone makes a vault, getting noise spammed to go to the gates when I lose, msged gg ez baby killer unalive yourself etc. That stuff causes negative emotions so I just go hard to ensure it doesn't happen. Anyone that BMs is getting BMed back and their time wasted

“So for me, if I go into a game expecting fun, casual gameplay, and get steamrolled by the sweatiest opponent I've ever seen, and then get told it's my fault because I didn't run these exact 4 perks with a toolbox with these add-ons... That's a game balance issue. Blaming my teammates isn't going to fix that, even when they aren't perfect.”

I played vs momoseventh and pro vengeance last week. Both times when I got the endgame screen I said to myself, “why am I even playing vs these people.” Those super sweaty games especially in solo que are just not worth it
