Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Friends til the end

why does friends til the end encourage tunneling? When I hook the obsession, the new obsession becomes the survivor who just got off hook before I went to the obsession (at least 90% of the time). I see their aura, so I want to go to them, so I can get a different survivor as obsession. It’s just kinda weird that a perk encourages a play-style often frowned upon amoungst the community… tunneling has its uses, I’m not saying I’m against it. I’m just saying as a perk it shouldn’t boost that method.

    Yah.

They mean for you to play Blight with Friends till the end and tunnel.

I mean, do you want a handwritten note from the developers?

"You should tunnel, always. Also, don't forget Blight."

Probably because while the community frown upon it the Devs want tunneling to remain a tactic that can be used. Just like slugging. Slugging is also frowned upon but there are killers literally built around this tactic such as twins. The Devs answer isn't to prevent it happening but to give survivors the ability to surrender when they are all slugged. Tunneling is no different.

Reminds me of the old BBQ counterplay, except this is significantly easier because FTTE announces itself on the first hook.

It's just coincidence. Friends is pretty weak anyway.

FTTE doesn't encourage tunnelling. Everyone has an equal random chance to be the obsession, sometimes the randomness chooses the same person more than once in a row. Just like sometimes you flip a coin and get heads three times in a row.

It's not personal, let's not start assuming perks are out to get us now. Saying FTTE "encourages" tunnelling is like saying Friendly Competition "encourages" pushing gens super hard. Neither are true, they just give a slight boost to info and generators respectively.

FTTE literally give everyone a chance to be an obsession. If anything it a roulette that drop on an unlucky person. No hard feelings
