What’s with quad totem builds being used more frequently
it’s typically a variation of builds like this

People see my hex builds out there doing work and so they're starting to adopt it

When people can't use gen regression perks in the event to their fullest, usually the next in line are hex builds. These builds on Ghoul are ridiculously oppressive with his iri add on that makes survivors scream. Something like Blood Favor/Crowd Control/Thrill of the Hunt/Undying is just unwinnable for solo queue against Ghoul

makes sense
I’ve been messing around with a totem build on survivor so it’s funny countering these builds and making the killer perkless very quickly3 -
Running Plaything when you’ve already got 3 other hexes makes no sense and is counterintuitive. You’re only getting 2 totems from it. If they’re gonna do Plaything they should only be running 1 other hex max.

Obviously it's so that the survivors can earn more BP by cleansing them.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to have killer add-ons that make survivors scream and completely cancel progress on totems clearly does not play this game. Agree that this is way too oppressive

Cleansing a totem is like what, 16 seconds? Doing any totem is worth about 16 seconds in value to the killer when a totem is cleansed.
If you have that mindset with totems, you'll always get value from them. That's more than what could be said for some other perks in this game.
I like the thrill+face the Darkness version because I encourage survivors to keep engaging and interacting with the secondary objectives. I watched a twitch replay recently where survivors got ripped off nearly done totems a dozen times. Ouch.

People cant get use out of stacked slowdown perks during this event, therefore they try the next best thing.
I assume, that after this event ends, everything is going back to normal.

Hex Builds are fun and some of the only ways Killers can slow Survivors down in the event, by forcing them to not do gens. It also allows for more Bloodpoints for Survivors; Bloodpoint gain is still pitiful for Survivors in the event because only the one finishing the blood gen gets the points, nobody else who contributed gets any.

Against solo survivors Hexes can be pretty nasty, which is one of the reasons for Pentimento getting changes. Plus Plaything is now a universal perk with The Cenobite leaving, so it's more accessible to use.

They want to help survivors with the achievement where you have to cleanse lit totems. So considerate of them 😜

Saw this post and decided to go ahead and do a quad totem build on Freddy last night. Been taking a break from DBD, so this was the first match in like...a month. Got 4 devour hope moris at 5 gens...

It’s nutty fr. I’ve bumped into it a few times recently and yeah it’s a solid build for the most part. Can’t speak the 4swf experience but as solo duo it’s a wrap.

With Knight my Hex setup is Thrill, Ruin, Face the Darkness, and Insidious/Sloppy/Lethal.
Depending in the totem spawns it’s ugly.
Sometimes I run the Iri add on that makes the summons stand around after a command. If I can recall you could give the command to hit a generator if survivors are working on it with ruin. Since it isn’t regressing if they’re actively on it. To punish greedy, dedicated survivors.
