The Pig VS Blood gens

Lets start this of with me saying, that I dont have that big of an issue that most regression perks dont work on bloodgens, as they have a risk / reward - aspect to them.

My issue is the lack of killer power interaction.

  • Cant vomit on gens as plague
  • survivors dont get madness skill checks against doctor
  • knight and houndmaster cannot target the gens with their power
  • Freddy cannot tp to them

and you guessed it:

  • PIGS RBT´S DONT GET ACTIVATED BY DOING A BLOOD GEN

With the amount of blood gens in a trial, the Pig´s pressure from the traps is 0. Survivors have no agency to get rid of them after getting trapped, as the timers will, very often, never activate at all.

This halfes the power of the Pig at best and makes her incredibly weak.

Im sorry, but who thought this was a good idea?

Yeah I haven't touched killer on this event other than to do the tome challenges. Its miserable. Its not surprising its infested with Ghouls.

Nobody thought about killer powers. Some killers have huge advantages, some minor and other struggle hard.

Amanda Panda does not like this event.

I don't think this was a really well thought out part of the event. Like just make powers work with the blood gens, the fact that 6 killers can be completely countered by focusing down the blood gens is not okay, especially when it actually completely destroys 1 of those killer's powers. If it doesn't break the game when the gens that take 90 seconds to complete have these interactions, something tells me it won't break the game if the gens that take maybe 20 seconds when working on them to have these interactions.

Yeah, this is a pretty big oversight for blood gens. I'm hoping they iterate on this idea and fix this part.

Yeah, a lot of the killers I play interact with the gens (Houndmaster, Pig, Freddy), and it is so infuriating to play this event as them.

Only mobility killers seem to be viable during this event, which is the same type of killers survivors dislike going against.

For this event, almost yes. You can go around and jump some people with stealth.

Her power is literally on cooldown right now. T🐽T

Pig feels so powerless and it's like why does she have to be so powerless in this game mode?

I feel like they could’ve done the concept in a way that doesn’t make aspects of the game unusable the blood gens concept needed a couple more events in the oven to be fully done

I'm struggling to name even 1 single other game where an event came out that just completely neutered a character. I don't think I've ever seen it before, especially like this.

    All good. Have this 👉️🐽

Because what makes Pig unique is her RBT´s, I agree. Them doing absolutely nothing ruins the Pig to a decent amount during this event.
I see no reason to play Pig in the event mode at all, especially when the player can chose between event and not-event.

My guess from the start was that BHVR wanted to stress test this new mechanic to see if it was viable to introduce to the main game as an alternative way of doing gens, so they wanted to incentivice the use of the new gens as much as possible to the survivors and get as much raw data as possible, before this event ends. But along the process, so many killer powers and perk combinations were left in the wake.

It could also be a way to stress test Kanekis power, as a lot of killers seem to play Kaneki exclusively this event and it kinda makes sense to have an OP-killer-release vs an OP-gen-rush-event and see who comes up on top if both are dialed up to 11, if you want to stress test the system.

I lowkey don't like how there's a sentiment amongst some (some not all) Survivor Mains saying this event is some sort of just deserts for all the Killer sided events previously. Like no, honey child, two wrongs don't make a right. Bad event is bad. The event is halfbaked because it takes away Killer agency TOO MUCH, this is not like when the first Blood Moon or last Anniversary or Lights Out 1.0 happened and they were Killer sided.

A mode that messes with builds for Survivor still lets you play every Survivor, you just have stuff that disadvantages you a little bit or lack stuff you typically use, your gameplay experience has functionally not changed at all. But a mode that kills diversity and has nothing to offer for Killers is also bad for Survivors because it increases Killers playing hardball with more overpowered characters, and it increases Survivors feeling they have to push back just as hard as a result. It increase behavior like tunnelling and camping (already high), it increases frustration. It decreases fun, diversity, and an engaging experience. It's just not fun to either easily win, or be slammed into the dirt over and over against very strong Killers as Survivor, and this mode really, really proves that.

Being locked out of playing certain killers or perks is never good design.

It’s forced me run Thrill, Ruin, FTD, and Lethal.

Ruin to constantly regress actual gens for you. You can’t let them complete the one they have to work on.

FTD might make them scream off of totems, and reveals as you apply pressure.

Thrill makes it take all day to cleanse. So they become reluctant. Especially if they scream off of it.

Lethal for a head start on chase. FTD reveals for 4 seconds instead of 2. Keep an eye on them all.
