Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Or maybe we could leave a couple of techs in the game for, ya know, skill expression, skill ceiling, rewards for learning a certain killer etc. Basically every technique was kinda unintended by the devs but got then spread and got adopted by the community. It is how looping made it into the core gameplay loop (pun intended) of the game.

But when the same is said for perks like DH/MFT that only work if you're skilled suddenly this isn't applicable anymore.

Right, that they are trying their best to patch "crouch tech" while uncapping Oni's turn rate (while keeping the giant demo shred size hitbox) makes it abundantly clear. Skill expression for thee but not for me.

So again, no one can have nice things, because of "us vs them", got it.

Nah it's about time the S-tier Killers get put into the floor after the S tier Survivor options have been taken from them one by one.

It's time to stop balancing around the M1 Killers if the S tier Killers are the most played :)))) Or it's time to let us have options to deal with them again.

Made for This did not require skill to work at all in its peak state.

I don't care if Kaneki keeps his techs or not, abandon feature exists and there are already several killers with techs right now.

My point is that whenever there is a killer tech that boosts micro it's considered necessary and skillful but survivors have to always be at basekit looping strength.

Weird, I seem to remember mediocre players still being mediocre at looping and going down at the same speed anyways.

Skill expression is the strawman argument of killer if something should stay that isnt intended at all.

I mean, this argument would kinda hold water if it didn't took them 5 and 6 years to remove Blights hug tech and Onis 180 flicks, that became so bread and butter of their kit that many (rightfully) considered it part of their core identity and how this killers would be played.

I find it extremely concerning that this kinda of things happens after such long times, as this basically means "nothing is sacret" and "everything could be gone next patch". All this sweet corpo talk of "we always strive to improve the playing experience yadda yadda" just feels extremely disingenious if the techs in question stayed in the game for 6 years.

While its never discussed, with this two now as precidents, it could theoretically happen that Slinger loses his ability to thread the needle through extremely small holes, because chances are that this was never intended, the original designers might have wanted Slinger to hit survivors in the back who flee from him or over dropped pallets and then try to work around the loop.

Either you patch things out ASAP (and if this cool tech disappears within the next patch, well yeah, than this WAS fast enough on this regard), or you give your unspoken approval of a cool tech discovered by the playerbase, that enriches gameplay. But leaving things inside the game for literally years on end and then removing them without major changes to the surrounding circumstances, but claiming "well, this was never intented in the first place" leaves the playerbase with no consistancy at all.

This mostly hits killers, but just imagine if even highly skilled plays like CJ tech saves were patched out now, after they have been in the game for this long! Its not a good comparison, as the CJ tech is a very specialised circumstance and probably never the defining feature of a players playstyle, BUT it has been in the game for quite some years, and if it were to be removed now under the moniker of "it was never intended" it would leave many players who enjoyed this tech puzzled and maybe even feeling betrayed. For example, locker-safes were in the game for years and got removed, because it could lead to infinites and unbreakable stalemates and was after years identified as an unintended exploit and while warranted, a lot of survivors voiced their sadness, that they lost a cool and favorite tech.

Or on a more rediculous notion, what if looping would be patched out of the game, now, years later, as it never was intended in the first place and survivors were told that they needed to be stealthy and careful? Remember that time when BHVR nerfed survivors turn speed and gave them momentum instead of breakneck directional changes - as it was originally intented - but this felt extremely awkward and miserably? This must be how Oni-players are feeling right now.

So my friend, come again and tell me about some strawman arguments of killers. What would you be ok with losing of yoru repertoire?
