Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

so will you be dumpstering freddy pending a rework too?

or is it ok for him (and not skull merchant) to sit at a 70% kill rate while he waits for reasonable and nuanced numbers tweaks to bring him slightly down?

interested in your answer, bhvr developers. i'll be considering the reality of what happens to be your answer to this question.

No, he should be left as is or buffed.

Keep in mind the rework happened during this time, and people needed to adjust.

Plus, he has a power that, similarly to Pig, Pinhead and formerly Skull Merchant, is complex to play against. So many people just don't know what to do against him.

Even a couple of months ago when he was in his weakest state he was still hovering around the top 3 in terms of killrates. I think he's in a good spot at the moment because he's got a strong kit but it also comes with an equally strong counter (clocks). Any number tweaks could make him feel extremely sluggish to play.

the point is that he's got the same kill rate as skull merchant had and she got destroyed for being this strong. and the only recompense is that she's getting a rework "someday", and the rework they showed us looked terrible.

if they let freddy sit there or give him nuanced and thoughtful numbers tweaks to bring his kill rate slightly down, then the skull merchant dumpstering was unnecessary and absolutely unfair.

if they dumpster freddy, then they're at least consistent, even if it's a terrible thing to do and makes the game worse.

what about Chucky and almost Xenomorph (at least he(?) got saved)

    Not even remotely comparable.

The intent behind the Xenomorph changes was, explicitly, to buff the killer. The changes didn't work out that way in most people's eyes, and so they didn't go live.

Chucky, similarly, hasn't ever had his core gameplan surgically dismantled like Skull Merchant did. He had a handful of straightforward balance changes that some people feel went too far, which isn't close to what happened to Merchant. People only act like it is because they feel he's bad now, which ignores a whole bunch of important context.

Big differences being that SM was around a lot longer and despised by many players. BHVR also doesn't just go off of kill rates, they have other factors such as performance at different MMR levels, game distribution, etc. though we the players only really get the kill rate break down.

It doesn't make sense to, his kits trash its just an influx of high mmr players using him. Imo his dream pallet needs a rework. Something like:

NEW - There is a single dream pallet that has a 7 second cooldown/active life time until replaceable again

NEW - The infested pallet is visible to the survivors only in the dream world, where rupturing it can actually damage the survivor

NEW - Rupturing pallets remains unchanged, but pallets ruptured don't break anymore

NEW - Pallets can be ruptured when dropped

REMINDER/NEW - Dream pallets can still be created. Upon the pallet's lifetime ending, the pallet turns into a normal pallet. This is here to ensure that this part of Freddy's power isn't useless once theres no pallets left. Though it is risky, as you're creating resources for the survivors

He doesn't need a nerf, he needs a buff. Killrates have meant almost nothing in regards to a killer kit being powerful, as seen with Freddy compared to someone like nurse. Its based on how many people play them, the more that play a set character, the higher the chance of someone losing and dropping the Killrates entirely. Especially since anyone in any mmr can play these characters

The intent behind the Xenomorph changes was to make it easier for lower MMR survivors to knock Xeno out of crawler mode with turrets. There were too many survivors complaining that the turrets were "useless", because too many survivors couldn't figure out how to get any value from them.

The turrets were too complicated for lower MMR survivors, because survivors had to know where to place them, and how to path the killer so they get ambushed by them.

she was not destroyed for this reason, and you know it

She was destroyed because some player play with her in a way where at the moment survivor ear the terror radius of skully, they get a PTSD and quit de game

Freddy is in a good spot

Here we go again trying to claim that dullmerchant got changed because of the kill rate. It wasnt.
